Mel POV
“Lillian,” she said in relief, glad to see her sister back in good condition.
“Mel,” her sister grinned back to her.
Mel just put her hands on her hips and shook her head. “Don’t know it whether to hug you or strangle the life out of you.”
“I prefer the hug, but I totally understand why you were to strangle me.” Lilli admitted.
Mel pulled her sister into a hug because she’d missed her even when she wanted to kill her.
“Do you have any idea what you did to me, Lillian?” she asked, releasing her sister. She wanted to deal with the issues first before deal with her sister’s own issue for coming back in town.
“I do Mel. And i want to explain, I knew he’d be mad and all. I hope he wasn’t too mean to you. But I figured you’d be able to calm him down.”
Mel collapsed down into the couch tucking her foot up under her, staring at her sister with this belief. “So you sent me over there to calm him down? So you knew that were no things to pick up. So you wanted me to be your replacement?”
Lillian sank down next to her sister. “Of course not. I figured that you handle people well and you would be able to calm him down, since I left him money and that would by me some to figure how to pay him back.”
“Why did you take his money when you could have asked me, Lilli?”
For a moment there her sister looked embarrassed. “Jake and I were going to reopen our fashion store in New York. I figured that the money would help us started and I didn’t think he would care the guy practically live on money.”
Mel shook her head. “Lilli you know that Harry wasn’t just going to let go of his money.”
“I figured with the whole buy a wife thing, that he would be embarrassed to pursue the money.”
“Lilli you have met him before and you think that he would need to buy a wife.”
“I kind of wondered about that too, maybe he had issues.”
“Yes maybe, but nothing would have prevented half of these city women from marrying him.”
“So he found someone else, good I figured he would with all the connections and money c’mon,” Lilli said.
“Um Lilli....?” Mel said, holding up her ring finger for her to see.
Lilli turned white just by staring at the ring. “You married him?”
“I didn’t have a choice something that neither of you gave me. Remember the contract that you signed that was legal.” She asked
“That paper was legal?”
“Yes did you even read it?”
“I glanced at it,” Lilli said defensively, with her eyes focusing on the opposite wall.
Mel leaned back against the couch and closed her eyes. Without opening them she said. “I told you never signed a paper without me looking at it if you don’t understand.”
“Well this...”
“That was a binding legal paper, Lillian. That say YOU should go through with the marriage, if you don’t want to go through with the married YOU should find him a replacement ‘wife’ or he would sue for breaching contract.”
“Mel you should have let him sue. Why did you have to married him?” she asked seriously, reaching out to hug her sister.
“Because I have no choice because you signed a paper that say he could do more than just sue you, Lillian.”
“You should have let him deal with me or I would have talked my way out of it. I still don’t believe that you married him?”
Mel shook her head. “He was definitely in a suing mood not talking. He would have taken all your assets, including the house.”
If Lillian could go any whiter, she did. “OH no Mel I’m sorry. Does anyone know or hate me about this?”
“No mum and dad doesn’t because it none of their business, but Gran does. But no one hate you not even Gran or me, but I’m mad at you for throwing me into the pit like that. So what happened and why are you back?”
“Well I would pay harry back his money. I am back because Jake and I split,” she admitted, “And Harry?” she asked.
“Nah some days He wishes he’d married you then me, but we are doing fine.”
Lilli took a deep breath and offered, “Huh Mel, if you want me to, I’ll step in.”
“I don’t think so he needs to married the same woman for three years. I really appreciate it for trying but it all ready done and we both can’t change it now.”

Lillian POV
Lilli’s eyes filled with tears as she looked over at her sister and realised the mess she’d put her in. “Mel, don’t be mad. I love you and you’re my sister please.”
But Mel just gave her a small smile in return. “I love you too, you crazy sister of mine. But I might just stay a little mad at you for now.”
Lillian looked at her sister and said, “You’re good for him. It might work your married with him might work if you don’t even realised it yet.”
“What?”
“He’s cold. You’re warm and some of those warm need to rub off on him.”
“Yeah it more like the cold is rubbing off me.”
But Lilli just snorted. “Yes he is cold just by looking at him, sometimes. But I think there’s more to that coldness, Mel.”
“Why would you say that?”
“Because he asked me to married him for the same reason that you’re married to him for, Harry and I have everything in common we got along fine. I like him because he is sexy don’t get me wrong but me and harry would never survive a real relationship or a married without deception. But you on the other hand....”
“What about me?”
“He didn’t need to marry you Mel, but instead he pushed you into taking my place. It may have made things easier for him. But I am not convinced that it was the only way for him to get the stock voting options.”
“What really is your point, Lilli?”
“We are sisters, Mel but completely different even a blind person can spot the different between us. I was wrong for Harry but you might be completely right for him.”
Mel just looked at her in disbelief. “Are you saying that harry took one look at me and decided he wanted to marry me? No way Lilli but not in a million years.”
Lilli shrugged. “Maybe it possible,” she said softly,
But Lillian took one last look at her sister trying to read the emotions that was playing on her expression.“But we would see and can I come over sometime? She asked with a sly grin.
Mel just picked up a pillow and throws it at her. “You’re crazy, terrible, rotten person but I love you anyway.”
“I know you do but I am sorry it was never my intention...”
“I know, Lilli just promise me that next time you would show me a contract if you don’t understand it.”
“I will. I promise.” She said and crossed her heart with her index finger.
“We should catch up some time okay.”
“Yeah we should so that I can see your daughter.”
“Yeah.”
Lillian walked over to her sister and gave her a hug before living their old house.

Mel POV
After Lillian left she thought back to harry. She knew that he need to keep his uncle business voting stocks and that Lilli had signed the contract made it clear that Harry took the marriage a lot more serious than her sister. Maybe that why her sister back out but Mel wasn’t sure if there was another way for harry to escape his uncle’s will. Or was there? Or didn’t harry have a backup plan? Or what he angry and annoyed at be walked out on that he took it out on Mel?
The problem was that harry was a cold person with no emotions and the only time harry shows emotions are when he kissed her or the raw physical attraction or when they are together playing happy parents for their daughter. But there was no soul connection between them. Mel thought of the mess that she was in and she needs to have a talk with harry.
She grabbed her key and headed straight over to her grandmother house to pick up Aria. She explained everything about her talk with Lillian and like always her grandmother held her hands and listen. She took sleeping Aria and her cupcakes before heading home to deal with Harry.
