Chapter 28
I was awoken by Zach's constant banging on my door. I tried to cover my ears with my pillow that worked for 5 minutes until the banging got louder. I threw a book at the door silencing him.
"Leave me alone" I shouted.
"I need money, K" he whined.
I jumped off my bed and opened the door "I am giving you nothing" I said coldly before pushing past him.
"Why are you moody with me?" he tilted his head.
"It's 6 in the morning Zach, you left me alone to handle all of this. Once I finally managed to you think you can come back and ask for money?" I shrieked.
"Just £20" he reassured me.
"No fucking way, listen to me when I tell you I am giving you no money. Try getting a job or something".
"You're so stubborn" he said dryly.
"Ha" was all I managed to say.
After falling asleep in the bathroom, I had a quick shower and brushed my teeth.
"Err who the fuck are you?" I heard Zach say.
I ran out of the bathroom with my towel wrapped around me, I saw Harry standing by the door talking to Zach.
"Harry what are you doing here?" I asked holding the towel tightly.
"I came to see you actually" he smiled before ducking under Zach's arm.
"Did I say you could come in?" Zach moaned.
"No but I'm not here for you, and last time I checked Morris, I mean Kate owns this house" Harry shrugged.
Zach laughed "My mother and father left it to me in their will"
"Fine, but as of last week she now owns this house" he said sternly.
"What is he talking about?" Zach asked me.
"Yeah Harry what are you talking about?" I asked him.
"I made a deal with Bill, so you wouldn't get evicted. But before I did I made sure this house was in your name. I wasn't going to pay anything for him" Harry glared at Zach before turning back to me.
"You never told me that" I frowned.
"We haven't really been on talking terms have we?" he tilted his head to the side. "Meaning Zach, as owner she has the right to kick you out any time she wants. So if I were you I would watch yourself, I wouldn't want to piss her off if I were you" Harry smiled at him.
"No way I'm talking to Bill" Zach shouted before leaving.
"Harry I don't know what to say" I smiled.
"Say yes".
"Say yes to what?" I asked confused.
"Yes to going out with me tonight" he looked me in the eyes.
"Harry what are you playing at?" I asked annoyed.
"As friends, before gigs I need to I don't know prepare myself? You calm me" he shrugged.
I rolled my eyes "Do you know how hard that will be for me?" I asked.
He frowned "Is it that bad being around me?"
"Kind of, I don't know".
"Oh well okay never mind, I also want to give you these" he handed me 2 tickets for their gig. "I'll go" he tried to smile before walking away.
I groaned "Fine".
He smiled "I'll pick you up at 8" he skipped out the door. 5 minutes later "Do you want a lift to school?" he laughed.
"No it's fine I will walk" I stood my ground.
"Oh sorry my mistake for thinking you didn't want to be late" he shrugged.
I looked at the time, 8am oh for fuck sake.
"Give me 10 minutes" I shouted whilst running up the stairs.
I put on a pair of denim shorts and a black top, I searched in my room for my converses. I ran down the stairs "Hey have you seen my..." I saw Harry holding them in his hands. "Converses" I said quietly. I picked up my bag before following him out the door.
"Hey Kate" Jack smiled.
"Hey Jack" I returned the smile.
"I see you're on a first name basis now?" Harry said aloud.
"Yeah problem?" I asked.
"No not at all" he looked out the window.
Jack looked at me through the rear-view mirror smiling, I tried to hide my laugh by faking a cough.
"Bye" I called at Harry as I walked to my first lesson.
I saw Liam talking to Ashley, I waved at him not letting her know I was behind her. He smiled at me as I ran into the toilets. My head was pounding I damped my face with water trying to relief myself from some of the pain. I decided to sit somewhere else in class today, I needed peace.
Ashley saw this as her opportunity to sit next to Liam much to his dismay. He looked at me confusion across his face, I shrugged and leant my head on my desk. No one noticed me that lesson, no one talked to me, or even said my name. I forgot how much I missed this, surrounded by people yet feeling completely alone. I managed to rest my head for the entire lesson in silence.
Liam met me outside after lesson "Thanks" he muttered.
"For what?" I asked.
"For leaving me with Ashley" he laughed.
"I'm sorry I just have a really bad headache, and I thought if I sat on my own then I would be left alone" I shrugged. "I really don't think I can deal with next lesson" I closed my eyes.
He held my hand and pulled me outside of school.
"Liam I really can't miss any more school" I moaned.
He didn't listen to me and directed me towards the park. I looked around but no one else was there, I walked over to a patch of shade and lay under the tree closing my eyes. Liam lay down next to me, we lay in silence for a while listening to the sound of the tree's rustle in the wind. Faint drops of water landed on my head, I opened my eyes to see the dull sky and grey clouds. My lips turning into a smile as the rain poured over me.
"I think we should go inside" Liam whispered.
"Why?" I chirped.
"Err.. the obvious reason maybe?" he looked up at the sky.
I laughed "There's something about the rain, so peaceful" I closed my eyes allowing the rain to fall over me.
"Come on Kate, I don't want to get wet" he moaned.
"Liam stop acting like a baby it's just water" I laughed.
He rolled his eyes "If I catch a cold before the gig tomorrow I will personally kill you".
The rain got heavier drenching us, my clothes clung to my body. I guess today wasn't the best weather to wear shorts. A flash of lightening flashed through the sky followed by a roar of thunder. I groaned as I quickly stood up, Liam gave me the 'I told you so' smile which made my eyes roll.
"We need to get inside come on" Liam dragged me inside.
Luckily it was lunchtime so it didn't look odd that we were running in from outside. We found Niall and Harry at the lunch table.
"Where have you guys been?" Niall asked.
"I had a headache so we went to the park, but then it started to rain..." I laughed.
"Man you should have invited me" Niall sulked.
"Maybe they wanted to be alone?" Harry joked.
I rolled my eyes "Yeah I mean it wouldn't have been the same if you guys were there. Especially after all the stuff Liam and I were doing" I said sarcastically.
"Lying in the rain" Liam added.
"How romantic" Harry said spitefully.
"I haven't got time for this, I'll see you guys later" I smiled at Liam and Niall before leaving. I am so sick of Harry's mood changes.
Harry ran after me "So I guess I won't be seeing you tonight then?" he said awkwardly.
"Is that what you want?" I asked.
"No" he looked down.
"Then for god sake stop acting like a jealous ex-boyfriend" I shouted.
"Oh so I was your boyfriend?" he laughed.
"I said you were acting like one, don't twist my words" I said coldly.
"I was only joking".
"I think we've both established that I don't find your jokes funny" I moaned.
"Okay fine no more jokes" he held up his hands.
"I'd like to see that happen" I laughed.
"So tonight?" he smiled looking hopeful.
"8" I reminded him before leaving.
"See you later Morris" he called after me.
I waved before finding Jess. I sat down at their table, they all turned to face me as if I was a stranger to them.
"Hi guys" I tried to smile. "I need to talk to Jess" I said.
I don't understand why Jess was annoyed at me, but that I could forgive. I don't like followers, I have done nothing to the rest of them so why give me the cold shoulder?
"What do you want Kate? Or should I say Morris?" she said dryly.
"You're making this so hard for me Jess, but listen you are my best friend. I thought I could tell you everything, but I'm starting to think that wasn't the case I don't think I should have told you what I did last week".
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" she looked at me in disgust.
"No, but ever since that conversation you've been like this with me. I have a lot to deal with right now, I don't need my best friend ignoring me" I sighed.
"Best friend? It doesn't seem like that anymore, and fine that conversation opened my eyes to what a fool you have been. How can you still hang around with him after everything he did to you?"
"You think you know everything, the truth is you know nothing" I shook my head.
"That's because you never tell me anything" she half shouted.
"That's not fair" I shouted.
"Yeah well life isn't remember?" she said coldly.
"Yeah you're right" I nodded before getting up.
"Hey Kate, can I talk to you?" Louise asked.
"Yeah sure" she walked away with me.
"I miss you Kate, I know I'm not your best friend and stuff but just because you're not friends with Jess doesn't mean we can't be right?" she tilted her head.
"Louise, I was going to go on my own but do you want to come see One Direction perform tomorrow?" I asked.
"Are you kidding me?" she shrieked jumping up and down.

"I didn't think fans could get tickets because it is a private gig, thank you" she hugged me.
"You're welcome, I'll ring you later or tomorrow".
"Okay" she smiled before going back to Jess.
My phone buzzed, I squinted trying to read my text, maybe it wasn't a good idea throwing it.

I put my phone back in my pocket and went home, weirdly this reminds me of our first date. I wonder what would have happened if I would have said no, would I be friends with any of them. Would I even be friends with Jess?

So i was right. I have been watching pretty little liars recently and i thought kate was Troian Bellisario who plays Spencer Hastings.
