*Harry's Pov*

I can't believe i kissed her, last night was a perfect way to end the weekend. I already knew school would drag on tomorrow, but at least she'd be there to.

"Harry!" my mums voice snapping me out of my thoughts once again.

"Sorry," I mumbled mostly to myself.

"Can you help Mrs. Baxter?" she almost demanded. I had been slacking off all morning, I guess it was starting to bother her. I looked over finding the older woman waiting expectantly. I already knew she didn't come to buy a new novel, she never did when I was working. She's always been a nice lady, but I never enjoyed our conversations.

"How are you today?" I greeted as best I could.

"Good enough, how are you darlin?"

"Perfect," I answered honestly.

"You're a single lad still, aren't ya?" 'and here we go,' I thought slightly bitterly.

"Well, i have be-"

"You know my granddaughter Alice has been dying to snag a night out," I sighed as she cut me off. "you two should go out."

"I alre-"

"Don't make me beg, just take her out."

"What a-"

"Tonight would be perfect!"

"Mrs. Ba-"

"Be there at 6" she concluded leaving the shop.

"You alright?" mum asked as I slumped back into my seat behind the counter.

"I have a date tonight with Alice." I answered sarcastically.

"And what would Sam say about this?!" she teased.

"I'll ask her," I smiled lightly.

The morning dragged on as mum snapped me out of all my thoughts about Sam. It seemed like every time I sat still her gorgeous features or light chuckle would haunt me.

"Harry!" mum snapped again. Nodding I waited for her to chew me out again. "Just go to lunch." she chuckled obviously knowing I'd never be able to concentrate today.

"Well I'll see you later then," I sighed leaving the shop quickly. The small historic shopping district seemed to be overly busy for a monday. It took twenty minutes to even make it into the small dinner two blocks down the strip. Lunch has always been my favorite thing about working in the shop, Mr. Landers gave me lunch at a discount for every book I sold him at a discount price. We definitely had a good deal going on, and luckily mum was agreeable to it.

"Well isn't it a surprise to see you here." a familiar voice interrupted my pretty decent lunch break.

"Hi Kate," I tried greeting nicely, though it seemed slightly forced.

"Hows your day been so far?" she asked stealing a fry off my tray.

"Interesting to say the least,"

"Explain," she demanded like she always had. This is definitely one of those moments when I can't understand how I spent two years with this girl.

"Well I have a date with Alice tonight," I sighed, not knowing why I was even telling her this.

"Which Alice?"

"Alice Baxter."

"Oh, well I hope all goes well then." she smiled lightly stealing another fry.

"Do you ever think we could forget everything and go back to being friends?" I asked honestly. I did love being her friend, but I could never see myself dating her again.

"I don't see why not," she smiled. Looking down at my watch I stood up quickly.

"I really need to get back to the shop, I'll see you tomorrow in school. You can finish this if you want." offering her the remainder of my meal as I grabbed the plastic sack that held mum's burger.

"Sounds good, have fun on your date tonight." She called after me. Maybe today was getting better after all.

"Hey, Harry right?" Christian interrupted that good feeling as I made my way down the last block.

"yeah?"

"look, I know you don't like me since I'm the ex-boyfriend and all. but I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow and I'd like to ask for you to give this to Sam." He handed me a small paper box. I raised my eyebrow, debating whether or not to actually giving it to her. considering I'd even tricked liam into giving her my letter. "Don't worry mate it's just a few things Sam left at my place before she left." he chuckled before walking away again.

Shaking everything off I walked across the street with the box in hand. as soon as I entered the shop I saw Sam laughing with my mum.

"Well hello," I greeted walking up to them both. "what are you doing here? did you already finish that last paperback?" I joked placing a kiss on her cheek before handing mum the sack.

"She came here for you this time, not the books." mum chuckled accepting the bag before heading to the back room.

"This is a very nice surprise compared to how today's been." I sighed in relief as I finally wrapped my arms around her waist.

"Do you think we could talk?" Those words never came with a good follow up. I immediately debated giving her the box now. "It's not that bad." she chuckled. though it didn't relax me any.

"okay,"

"You know how we went out last night, well apparently Tyler has informed my dad that I went out with Liam again. and now he thinks I've only been with him. " she said taking a breath before continuing. "And he wants to have Liam over for dinner tonight to like do the whole father boyfriend scare thing. but he doesn't know I have been seeing you at all." she finished.

"And?" I asked not sure what to say next.

"And Liam agreed to come to dinner. I hope my dad will be ok that we aren't together, but we'll see how the dinner goes." She sighed.

"Well since you have a date tonight, would you mind that I'm taking Alice Baxter out tonight?" I treaded carefully.

"Why are you taking her out?"

"Her grandmother came in this morning and asked me to take her out at 6 tonight, Mrs. Baxter comes in once a week trying to set us up. Would you mind if I did? Nothing romantic, I swear."

"Call me tonight, after?"

"Of course. oh, Christian wanted me to give you this before he leaves tomorrow." I finally decided to hand her the box. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the box. I watched as she pulled a key, cd, ring, and some envelopes from the wrapping. Before I could ask anything Lacy, Niall, and Derek came in.

"What is all of this?" Lacey asked looking over Sam's shoulder.

"Their what Christian gave her." I responded, his name burning my tongue.

"Isn't that you?" Niall chimed in holding the cd up.

"Yeah, but it's only a single." she smiled lightly looking through the envelopes. now I wish I hadn't given it to her.

"You recorded a song?"

"And released it globally." she chuckled taking it back.

"That's awesome. you didn't tell us you could sing!" lacy fired at her.

"you never asked, but whats done is done." she sighed taking all the items and placing them back in the box.

"well anyway, we should get you ready for dinner." lacy said playfully tugging on Sams arm.

"I'll talk to you later." I whispered kissing her lips quickly before she was pulled away.

"Yep, you have it bad." Derek chuckled before leaving with the crowd.
