*Sam's Pov*

Everything seemed so peaceful when i woke up on sunday. the light shining in through the sheer drapes that hung lightly from the chrome rod above the balcony door. I couldn't shake the thought of his lips out of my mind no matter how much i tried. i knew i wouldn't be able to get rid of the small smile that formed on my face.

Sliding out of bed i threw on my robe and started the short journey to the library. taking the brass steps slowly before counting out every bookcase before slowly pulling the third book on the second to last shelf out of it's usual place. admiring the delicate blue binding before reaching into the once crowded space and pulling on the 'hidden' latch, ginning as the bookcase lurched ever so lightly. placing the book back in it's spot i slid through the opening, pulling the entryway closed firmly. i raised my left hand, blindly searching for the beaded pullstring before feeling the familiar chill of the pearls. soft warm light filling the small stairwell. the sun streamed through the two rooms as i placed myself on the small loveseat, grabbing the newest paperback i got from untitled.

i found myself lost in the suspense when tyler's voice called for me. not wanting to put the novel down i finished the chapter before making my way back down the stairs and into the library once again. the kitchen quickly came into view as tyler left it, shooting me an apologetic look. as i entered the large room i immediately knew why.

"Morning daddy," i greeted hoping to gain some foreway.

"Morning sass." he replied as if he was trying to figure out how to broach the sticky subject. i poured myself a glass of orange juice as i waited for him to continue the conversation. but it remained silent for a while.

"so tyler was telling me you had another date last night."

"yeah, i had a good time."

"you know i'm not to fond of you dating again, especially after that Christian kid." his face seemed hard, like he was contemplating his next move.

"i know, but he's a really good guy this time. nothing like christian at all."

"fine but i want to talk with him formally."

"o-okay," i stuttered wishing i didn't have to.

"we'll have dinner all together tonight."

"okay." i sighed not knowing why we all were having to dine together.

"have liam join us then." he demanded firmly.

"Liam?" i asked, realization setting in finally.

"he's a good lad. and i'm glad you've taken a liking to him, though i still need to scare him a bit." he joked lightly before leaving. oblivious to the slight panic attack i was experiencing.

"so let me get this straight, you're dad thinks you went out with Liam last night?" lacey restated my last story. "and you have to invite him to dinner tonight?" she added carefully. nodding i released a heavy breath.

"damn. you're screwed." niall sighed from his place in the doorway of lacey's room.

"thanks for the help blondie," i piped up, throwing a pillow at him.

"well what are you going to do? and what about harry?" lacey asked obviously trying to figure the problem out herself.

"i'll invite liam to dinner, and then afterward tell my dad about harry."

"really?" niall asked raising an eyebrow at my statement.

"ok, maybe just the first part. but at some point i'll tell him about harry."

"still, what do we do about harry?" lacey asked.

"i'll explain everything to him and hope he understands."

"good luck, love." niall called over his shoulder making me groan loudly as i contemplated my situation for the hundredth time.

The bell above the door jingled as i made my way into untitled. i hoped harry would be at his usual place behind the counter, but instead anne greeted me.

"morning," she smiled.

"morning, is harry working today?"

"he went out to lunch a while ago, so he should be here any minute."

"ok i'll wait for him then."

" a little bird told me the date went mighty well last night." she commented, making my cheeks burn lightly.

"let me guess this bird has green eyes and brown feathers?" i chuckled.

"maybe," her smile growing kindly.

"well it was a nice night." i sighed my confession to come weighed on me.

"is everything alright sam?"

"i'm kind of in a pinch at the moment," i admitted, wishing i could disappear.

"lay it on me," she chuckled lightly.

"my dad isn't too fond of the whole dating thing," i started.

"as is understandable."

"but he currently thinks all the dates i've been on have been were with liam payne."

"oh," her smile slightly wavering.

"so he wants lian to come to dinner, and i got a small plan in the works. well as long as liam doesn't change his mind in the next few hours."

"ok,"

"but i don't know how harry will take this turn of events." i chuckled lightly. trying to shift the mood of the room.

"are you going to tell him about tonight?"

"yes ma'm," i nodded.

"as long as you're honest with him i'm sure everything will be fine."

"thank you."

"no problem" she finished as the bell rang from behind me.

"well hello," harry greeted me, obviously surprised by my sudden visit. "what are you doing here? did you already finish that last paperback?" he asked kissing my cheek before placing a plastic bag on the counter in front of anne.

"she came here for you this time, not the books." anne chuckled lightly before leaving us to continue our conversation.

"this is a very nice surprise compared to how today's been." he sighed, wrapping his arms around me.

"do you think we could talk?" i asked feeling him tense up slightly.
