Piper’s POV
Today was the dreaded day that Liam, Louis, and Niall were leaving. Liam talked me into staying the night at his hotel after he took me out to dinner and a walk around the park. We stopped by the dorm room and I promised the girls I would tell them everything that happened and they did the same thing.

I woke up to feeling sad. I had enjoyed my two days with my now boyfriend and I knew I was going to miss him dearly. I tried to stay as still as possible but I knew Liam was up when he kissed my shoulder.

“Good morning love,” he mumbled still sleepy.

“Morning,” I said quietly still staring at the window.

“Do I get to see those pretty blue eyes?” Liam asked quietly and I twisted to look at him.

I’m pretty sure Liam saw the sadness in my eyes and pulled me closer to him.

“We’ll talk as much as possible,” he said, “And you’re coming out in two weeks to spend the weekend.”

“Yeah but. . .” I said feeling the tears starting to surface.

“How about we go out for breakfast,” he said, “And then we can come back and I have one more surprise for you.”

“Well,” I said smiling lightly at the hat I designed a longtime ago, “I have one for you too.”

“You do,” he said and I nodded my head, “We have to get from the design room on campus though.”

“Okay,” he said weirdly, “Shall we get ready?”

“I guess we should,” I sighed and we rolled out of bed.

We quickly got dressed and headed down the stairs to go get some breakfast. When we got to the lobby I saw Mac, Niall, Louis, and Sam all sitting in the lobby and all of them looked like me and Liam. We were all upset that we had to go say goodbye.

“Hey guys,” I said quietly as we walked up to them.

“Morning Piper,” Mac said quietly as I sat down next to her.

“You girls ready to head out to breakfast?” Louis asked coming over with I believe the man’s name was Paul.

“Yeah,” Sam said quietly as we all stood up.

I could tell Liam was looking down worriedly at me and he grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together. We then braved the front of the hotel to get to the van and we made our way to a diner somewhere close by. I was sitting close to Liam in the back and we could see Louis and Sam having a quiet conversation and Mac and Niall just taking in each other’s company.

“We’re going to miss you boys,” I sighed looking up at Liam.

“We’re going to miss you girls too love,” Liam said kissing my temple, “More than you could ever imagine.”

“Remember we’re seeing each other in two weeks,” I said, “And every other chance we get.”

“Yes,” Liam said smiling lightly at me, “There’s that positive polly I love.”

I smiled lightly up at him and kissed his cheek. Breakfast went good. We all caught up with each other and on the way back Liam had the van stop at the campus. I then took Liam up to the design room and into the closest I had his present in. I dug around for a minute and found the snapback I made with him in mind. It was a purple snapback with white lettering. It had a simple design of L&P on the front and on the inside was embroidered I’ll always be with you. I grabbed it and hid it behind my back.

“Close your eyes,” I said and Liam smiled and closed his eyes.

“Can I open them yet?” he asked as I set the hat on the table in front of him.

“Almost,” I said setting the hat down, “Okay now open them.”

Liam opened his eyes and I smiled widely as he broke out into a giant smile. He walked to the other side of the table and kissed me.

“I love it,” he said when we broke apart, “I’ll never wear another snapback.”
I giggled and told him to look inside the hat and when he did he smiled at me and kissed me gently.

“The same goes for you,” he said pulling out a small box, “And this is my present for you.”

He handed me the velvet box and I opened it up. Inside was a beautiful heart shaped locket and when you opened it up there was a picture of us from our first date and one of just Liam making a goofy face.

“If you ever get super sad and miss me you can look at this and know I’m always with you,” Liam said and I smiled and kissed him.

I knew that this goodbye was going to be rough but if Liam and I could get through this than I knew we could get through anything together and for some reason I was believing that more than anything else in the world.
