New Life
Piper’s POV
Today was new chapter in my life. I was going to be someone new and different. I smiled widely as I stepped onto campus and looked around at all of the people rushing around and everyone moving into their dorms. I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and made sure my other bag was with me and I made my way to the hall I would be spending the next two semesters in. I was walking around aimlessly for the next hour and I was slowly getting frustrated. I couldn’t find my hall at this rate and if I had to wait any longer I think I would be in a sour mood for my roommates. I just happened to find a person in a special red shirt and she smiled at me.
“Lost?” she asked.
“You have no idea,” I said, “Do you know where the Cambridge Hall is by chance?”
“Oh well you’re in luck,” she said, “It’s just down this path on your right hand side.”
“Thanks,” I said my southern accent seeping through.
Yes I’m an American studying abroad for the next three years. I was from Georgia to be exact. The same town that Luke Bryan was from and trust me I took pride in that. I adjusted my bag yet again and started walking towards the hall. I was about halfway to the hall when my cell phone started ringing. I quickly looked down to see MOM flash across the screen and answered it.
“I’m not even in my room yet Mom,” I said and I heard her and my father’s laughter in the background.
“Got lost already?” my dad said and I just rolled my eyes.
“You have no idea,” I said and they laughed, “I’m literally three feet in front of my building now.”
“Well you should get in there then sweetheart,” my mom said, “You’re probably the last one in there.”
“Well I was never a punctual person anyways,” I said, “Call me later?”
“Always,” she said, “Love you dear.”
“Love you too Mom,” I said and hung up my phone shaking my head.
I took a deep breath and made my way into the building. I looked for the room number and grinned when I found it. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I found sitting on the beds were two girls who were quietly talking amongst themselves. They seemed really friendly when they turned to look at me so I smiled widely.
“Hi guys! I’m Piper!” I exclaimed waddling in the door and shutting it closed.
The girl that was in the middle of the three beds introduced herself first.
“Sam!” she said and I smiled and nodded at her.
“I'm Mackenzie,” the other girl said and I smiled.
I then waddled to my bed a new found excitement rushing through my body. I was going to be starting a new life here and was ecstatic about it.
