Samantha's POV:

The sinking sun colored the sky a brilliant orange and pink, the clouds floating into the distance. The waves crashed against the rocks, my feet digging into the sand. My brown hair flew behind me as I looked at the shining ocean. I stared at my reflection in the water, and ripples washed it away, leaving me wondering: who am I?

I felt someone sit down next to me, his eyes gazing up at me. I glanced down at me, and saw his pure blue eyes. He smiled up at me and patted the spot next to him, motioning for me to sit down. As I did, his grin grew wider, looking so magical and beautiful.

"Hi," he said, holding out his hand. I shook it, noticing the spark that flickered when we touched. Our hands fit perfectly together.

"I'm Samantha," I said, smiling faintly. I suddenly saw that we were still holding hands and I blushed, quickly dropping. He just stared at the ocean, not at all ashamed at what happened.

"What's your name?" I asked, staring at the ocean with him.

"You don't know?" he frowned, confused. I shook my head, wondering why I should know him. "Well, I'm Louis Tomlinson from the band One Direction."

"Sorry, I guess I live under a rock," I apologized, but then abruptly realized I had told my name to a complete stranger. But I guess I just feel safe with him.

"It's fine," he assured me, glancing at me and then quickly back to the fabulous sunset. "So, why are you at the beach?"

I shrugged, letting the water wash over my toes, enjoying the cool feel. "Oh, you know, just to get some alone time."

For a moment, Louis looked anxious. "Did I interrupt?"

"No." I laughed at his expression. "Why are you here?"

"To get away from the paparazzi," he answered, laying on his back. The moon was now up, the stars glowing against the black night sky.

"Is it hard?" I asked all of a sudden. "To be famous?"

"Kind of," Louis said, pulling me down to lay with him. "Everyone following you, a lot of screaming, yeah. Sometimes I just want to tell our fans that we are just normal people that have a singing talent. I mean, I bet a ton of people can sing well. They're just not known yet." He suddenly turned his head to face mine. We stared into each others eyes, trying to find more about each other. I blushed and looked away. He gazed back at the stars hanging above us. "But you make me feel normal." I blushed again and turned to look back at him.

His blue eyes once again found my gray ones, and I found my lips forming a smile. He was already beaming; just the look on his face gave me this warm feeling in the pit of my stomach. Our hands found each others, and together, we found peace that night.

* flashback ended *

I found myself laying on the guest bed, two pairs of eyes gazing worriedly at me. "You're awake!" Niall exclaimed, pulling me into a hug but I just stared at Louis, his expression now completely blank. He stared hard at me and I wondered if we were more than friends before. But no! I liked Niall now. But I couldn't help feeling this thing in me when Louis' name was mentioned... it felt real, alive. I gazed at Louis, and whispered, "The beach." And I knew Louis knew what I was talking about.
