Birthday Gone Wrong
Samantha's POV:
I unlocked the door to One Direction's flat, sighing heavily. I was so glad that O had a summer break.
"Boys?" I called out as I went to the kitchen. My only reply was my echo bouncing around. "Where the hell are they?" I grumbled, flipping the light switch on.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I heard everyone scream, and I stumbled back in surprise.
"Holy crap, happy birthday!" I said as I composed myself. "Whose birthday is it, anyway?"
"Yours, you idiot," Louis grinned at me, hugging me. I shifted uncomfortably in his arms since Niall was watching. I still hadn't told him that I was going to break up with him to be with Louis. It was harsh, and I knew that Niall didn't deserve it, but it wasn't fair for him to wait any longer when I was tormenting him by cheating on him. He just loved me more than I loved him.
"Birthday hug!" Miranda shouted, and everyone started to step to me.
"Woah, woah, woah, slow down," I said, backing up. "Okay, happy birthday to me! Now let's forget the whole thing!"
"Of course not," Niall said and I faked a smile at him. "I didn't even lick the frosting off the cake for you!"
"Fine."
After they sang me the unneeded birthday song, I blew out the candles. 'I wish that Niall will find his happy ending without me,' I thought.
"Dig in!" I cried as I cut the cake for them.
I wandered into the basement and flopped onto a couch. I really didn't understand the unnecessary party.
"Isn't the birthday girl supposed to have some cake?" Louis asked. I hadn't even noticed he had followed me. "Luckily, I brought some for you."
"No thanks," I said, and he put down the plate on a table.
"So, how does it feel to finally be twenty?"
"Like normal." I groaned and sat up. "You're twenty."
"Twenty-one," he reminded me. "Do you want a birthday kiss?"
Without replying, I stood up and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Of course I do," I said, and our lips connected, the kiss so sweet and innocent.
And then we jumped apart as Niall's unmistakable voice broke the romantic silence that hung in the air.
"Samantha?"
