Lie To Me

Riley’s P.O.V.

I opened my door and everything came flooding back to me.
*2 years ago*
It was a rainy night in New York City. I was staying at the Plaza Hotel. 5 Seconds of Summer sold out MSG. It was Luke’s 21st birthday. So many things were going through my head as I paced the arena.
“Riley.” Luke smiled from the stage.
“Lukas.” I smiled back, walking toward him.
It was the first time all day I had seen him; in fact it was the first time in months I had seen him. 5SOS blew up so fast that everything between him and I was falling apart.
“I’ve missed you so much.” He exhaled, pulling me in the tightest hug ever.
“I missed you too.” I let out, barely able to breathe. I felt sick to my stomach. I didn’t come here to try to mend things with Luke. Things were far from fixable at this point. I started crying.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
I nodded, “I got you this.” I choked out.
“Ry, you didn’t have to.” he smiled.
“I did.” I continued crying softly.
He opened the box and saw the custom made guitar picks. They had special dates or names of places we had been together. I had them ordered before I made up my mind on how tonight would go.
“Riley... Thank you so much.” he let out.
“Luke I-”
“Luke! Mate! Showtime!” Ashton called. “Hey, Riley!”
“Hi, Ash.” I sighed.
“Later?” Luke asked.
“Luke.” I sighed, I knew he knew something was wrong.
“Please? I am so sorry.” Before I could object again he was backstage.
I chose to stay for the concert, I still regret it.

*Present Day*
“Riley.” Luke let out, standing in my doorway.
“Luke.” I exhaled.
