Whirlwind

I Love You

Harry's POV:

I'd been trying to work out how to tell Jess I loved her ever since I decided tonight was the night. I didn't want to just blurt it out but I knew deep down that the words themselves would be enough no matter how I chose to say it. I pulled on to the driveway and took a deep breath.

Jess had given me a spare key and as I let myself in I was greeted with an incredible smell.
I dropped my bags at the bottom of the stairs, I had brought enough clothes for the week as I wasn't sure what the plan was and if we would be spending the whole time at hers, and followed my nose to the kitchen.
"Is that you baby?" Jessica shouted from upstairs.
"Yeah, it's me. What are you cooking babe? It smells incredible!"
I could hear Jess coming down the stairs. She bounced into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Claypot Chicken, it's my one of my Auntie Sarah's specialties."
"Claypot Chicken eh? Well I can't wait to get stuck in!" I planted a kiss on Jessica's lips, picked her up and carried her upstairs.

Jessica's POV:

"Baby! Dinner will be ready in 30 minutes." I couldn't stop the giggle from coming out. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Harry more than you know, but I didn't want dinner to be ruined.
"That's fine baby, this is just a little preview for later on." Harry smiled cheekily as he ripped my top off and climbed on top of me.
20 minutes later we were both laid in bed panting and quite frankly a little sweaty. I looked over at Harry and I had an overwhelming urge to tell him I loved him. Something deep down stopped me though, and I couldn't put my finger on what it was. I pulled myself off the bed and got dressed - I needed to go and check on dinner.

I was just putting the final bits on the table as Harry came downstairs.
"It's ready gorgeous, and I don't know about you, but I am absolutely starving!" I flashed him a smile as I walked back into the kitchen to grab the chicken.
Claypot Chicken had to be one of my favourite family dishes. It was the kind of food where you had to get your hands messy. The chicken was cut into bits, cooked in a claypot in the oven on the bone, with lots of herbs and plenty of garlic - 40 cloves to be precise! I had cut up some fresh Tiger Bread to dip into the juices left in the claypot, and I had stir-fried some veg as a side dish.
"This is so delicious babe!" Harry said as he licked his fingers.
"Thanks baby, I love this dish. Simple but oh so good!" I dunked some bread into the juice and smiled.

I was starting to get full so I decided to take a little breather. I looked at Harry and I couldn't help but feel so lucky to have found him. He really did treat me so well, he was a gentleman and to top it all off my family loved him just as much as I did.
"You full babe?" Harry asked as he wiped his mouth with his napkin.
"Yeah I'm definitely getting there, I just need a couple of minutes to let my food go down before I start round two." We both let out a little laugh.

Harry's POV:

This was it. No plan. No massive sugar coated gesture. Just pure feelings.

It was now or never.

I took Jessica's hand and looked her dead in the eye. "I love you Jess."

She looked at me, a little shocked at first, but then a massive smile swept across her face and I instantly felt relief take over my body. "I love you too, Harry."

Suddenly the food didn't matter at all any more, we both got up from the table and held each other. No more words were needed.

This was the real deal.
