Going on a holiday to London with my best friend Mia was the best damn decision I have made. To finally get away from the chaos that is home in Australia and spend my end of year university break in another country is all I have been waiting for…

“Bye mum, bye dad, I’m gonna miss you guys so much!” I exclaimed hugging both of my parents. Mum was of course bawling her eyes out, no surprise there. You should have seen her when my older brother, Jackson moved to London for university to study law (because he is obviously the smarter one), she cried for days, almost like a girl would cry from her first heartbreak.

“Oh sweetie, be safe and give your brother a hug for me” Mum smiles, her sobbing eyes twinkling in the bright airport lights.

“You and Mia take care of each other ok? We love you” Dad gives me a kiss on the forehead and gives me my carry on duffel bag.

“Will do Mr. and Mrs. Winchester, we’ll see you in the new year!” Mia gave my parents a hug too. Unfortunately Mia’s parents could not be at the airport to see us off but they are on some Caribbean cruise. Mia and I finally set off into the departures part of the airport, went through all the security screenings and arrived at our gate to wait for our flight. Boarding was in about half an hour.

“Ladies! Listen up! I think you’re gonna like this one…at a recent run in with some nosy paparazzi, hunky superstar, Harry Styles has said that he may be looking for love! It’s about time Harry got himself a queen, I mean, he would definitely treat his girl like a queen…I’m excited to see what the future holds for the British cutie…” The entertainment news host reports as Mia and I watched on the TV.

“Oh please, as if Harry Styles would date a ‘non-famous’ person, plus he’s probably only into supermodel looking girls, like Kendall Jenner, now she got lucky with her genes” Mia chuckled.

“He seems nice though, like, I reckon he would be a really nice boyfriend who spoils you and showers you with kisses” I said all loved up.

“Look at you all in love” Mia laughed at me.

“Oh shush, I will never have the chance to actually meet him, let alone date him” I chuckled.

“He lives in London, let’s stalk him” Mia joked but it seemed like she was serious for a second.

“No way, we’re not crazy, let’s just sit back, relax and enjoy our holiday ok?” Was my reply to Mia’s absurd proposal.

Mia and I landed in London around dinner time and were starving when we got to our hotel. I never eat that much on planes because I do get plane sick quite easily so I always try and sleep the whole entire flight.

“We should go somewhere to eat tonight” I suggested.

“McDonald’s sounds nice” Mia laughed. She sure does love her McDonald’s cheeseburger and fries.

“Noooo…I mean like somewhere nice and fancy, I’m surprisingly not that tired, a little jetlagged but I don’t feel like going to sleep yet” I explained, opening up my suitcase to try and find something decent to change into from my leggings and jumper. They may be comfortable but most likely will be frowned upon in British fancy restaurants.

“That actually sound good, I need a big warm meal to fill me up unlike that airplane food, ugh” Mia agreed. So we each had a short shower to freshen up a little and got changed into some decent clothing and off we went to find us a fancy restaurant. As we got out of the taxi in Soho, part of the West End of London, I got a message from my brother Jackson asking if we had arrived yet. I texted him back saying that we did and we were having dinner out.

“Hey Mia, Jackson’s asking if he could join us for dinner” I informed Mia.

“Yeah of course he can, I’ve missed him so much!” Mia giggled. Mia has always had a crush on my brother who is three years older than us. Mia and I have been best friends since we started primary school and apparently it was love at first sight for her back when we were only six years old and Jackson was eight.

“Just promise me you won’t be awkward around him” I raised my eyebrow at her.

“Yes, yes, I’ll try my best” She said like she was fangirling over One Direction. After walking around Soho for what seemed like hours in our high heels, we finally found a restaurant where we both liked the food on the menu. We got a table for three and waited for my brother.

“Hey, there he is” Mia pointed to the entrance of the restaurant. I gave a little wave hoping he would notice immediately so I did not look like an idiot. Luckily he did and started walking over.

“Oh my favourite little sister!” He exclaimed opening his arms for a big hug.

“I’m your only sister…” I sarcastically remarked, “Mum and dad says hi by the way, they said you should come visit Australia for next Christmas”.

“I was already planning to do that, but don’t tell mum and dad, I want it to be a surprise” He smiles proudly, “Hey Mia, how are you?”. He turns his attention to my star struck best friend. She stumbles to just get out of her seat and her eyes grew wide as they hugged. Calm down, don’t be awkward, I mouthed to her.

“Ok, you guys sit down, I’ll be one sec, I just gotta say hi to my friend over there” Jackson says, pointing to a guy a couple tables away. He had his back turned so I could not tell if he was a nice, cute British guy that my brother could possibly introduce me to. Oh but of course, there was a gorgeous girl sitting across the table from him.
