Someone Like You

Chapter One

"Priscilla!" Vivienne called out to me as I lay on the pool lounger. I looked up at the hot Louisiana sun as my best friend came towards me in a gingham two-piece screaming.

"What?" I asked as I pulled my sunglasses off my face, looking down to avoid the glaring sun.

"Guess what I just found out?" She asked as she sat on my chair, moving around so not burn her ass.

"Can you just tell us, already?" Charlotte yawned as she woke up from the chair next to mine.

"My brother is coming home from London next week and he's apparently bringing some friends of his to stay with us while they check out colleges around here!" Vivienne squealed. She turned around to us and whispered, "They're hot, too!" I groaned and stood up and brushed away the random grass trimmings as Charlotte and Vivienne screamed at each other about the boys.

"Y'all do know I have a boyfriend, right? Why would I care about British boys in college?" I said as I ran toward the pool and jumped in. I came up to the surface and brushed the water out of my face before swimming towards the edge of the pool.

"Of course I know that, silly." Vivienne said as she fanned herself with a magazine, "These boys are for us." She smiled as she turned to look at Charlotte, who evidently went back to sleep. Vivienne rocked her until she was conscious again and asked if she wanted to swim.

I sighed. Summer is going by way too fast. I'm not ready for school to come. I thought
Before I could think about all the standardized tests I would have to take in the next following months, my friends jumped into the pool, splashing my face with cold water. I laughed as I brushed the water out of my face. “Biiiiiitch” I said as I swam towards my friends, initiating a water fight between the three of us. I laughed as Charlotte and Vivienne splashed each other and turned to get out of the pool for some water.

“Cilla!” I heard as I sucked on the straw to my glass of water. I turned around to see who it was and almost couldn’t breathe. His brown hair. His pale skin. All black attire. The definition of a bad boy. Tommy Westwood. I dropped the glass to the ground.

The server nearest to me came running. “Miss Grey, are you alright?” He asked as he bent down to pick up the glass. I looked down and could see that my foot was bleeding and the shards of glass were all over the brick walkway. Tommy came running and I braced myself.

“Priscilla, are you okay?” Charlotte asked as she and Vivienne jumped out of the pool.

“Y-yeah...”I said as I looked at Tommy, who looked on at me while biting his lip.

The server went away with the glass while the registered nurse at the country club’s clinic came running with a first aid kit. I winced as she poured rubbing alcohol over my foot and put a bandage on it. “Try not to be so careless next time.” she said as she walked away. I ignored her remark and sat down on the pool chair, hoping to not get glass in my butt.

Charlotte and Vivienne came towards me and asked me if I needed anything.

“Yeah, please, can you get me some water?” I asked them before they went inside the club.

Tommy came over and sat next to me. I shivered.

“Are you cold?” He asked as he touched my shoulder.

“Get. Away. From. Me.” I said as I turned to face him. I stood up. “Get away from me! Don’t come near me and DON’T TOUCH ME.” I screamed as my best friends came running to me with my water. I looked around and saw everyone was staring at me.

“What’s wrong?” Vivienne and Charlotte asked, looking worried. I shook my head as I felt a tear rush down my cheek.

Tommy looked at me with a disheartened face before he smirked. “Fine,” he said as he put both of his hands up, “I’ll go.” I couldn’t believe him.

“Who was that?” Vivienne asked, looking at him walk away.

“Nobody,” I said as I wiped the tear from my face. I started to pack up all my things. “Can we just go now?”

“Yeah, sure. “ Charlotte replied as she too began picking up all her stuff.

I looked up from packing and saw that Tommy was standing at the doorway to the pool area, still looking at me. I thought I told that bitch to go away. I sighed as I grabbed my bag and my car keys and headed toward the other entrance.

“Wait up!” Vivienne shouted.

I looked back. Tommy was gone.

Notes

Please tell me what you think of this! I tried not to be too basic, but idk, I think I am.
