Chapter 11

Chapter eleven

I woke up the next morning, any thought of my stressful encounter with Simon yesterday completely wiped clean as I was beyond excited to go out shopping with El and Dani today. Truth be told, I didn’t exactly need to go, I probably had a dozen dresses in my closet already that would do for the occasion, but I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to hang out with them. I didn’t bother getting dressed and made up, I simply galloped down the stairs in my pyjamas, letting Harry sleep in. I walked into the kitchen where Liam and Zayn were sitting at the breakfast table.

“Good morning, boys,” I greeted them.

“Well good morning,” Zayn said as he stood up to pour himself some tea, giving me a kiss on the cheek as I poured mine.

“Sleep well?” Liam asked, as he absentmindedly read from the paper that was placed on the table.

“I did.” I smiled at him.

“It’s odd seeing you up this early.” Zayn teased me as I took a sip from my tea.

“Ha ha,” I said sarcastically. “You’re so funny.” I said with a serious face before breaking into a smile. “I don’t sleep in EVERY day.” I defended myself.

“Suuuure you don’t. “ Zayn winked at me as he brought his mug to his mouth.

“Oh, Sarah,” Liam said as he began digging around in his pocket. “Dani left this for you.” He handed me a folded up piece of paper.

“Oh,” I said, furrowing my brow. “She could have just texted me.” I laughed.

“Here,” Liam said handing me his phone. “Type in your number and I’ll send it to everyone.” I did as he asked and handed it back to him before unfolding the scrunched up piece of paper. It read:
Sarah, I’m so sorry, but I can’t make our shopping date! The director of the music video called and wanted some shots redone before the video goes in for editing tomorrow. Really sorry! But I’ll see you when I get back on Tuesday! Sorry! -Love, Dani I folded up the paper again, disappointed.

“Well, that sucks,” I said. Liam gave me a knowing look.

“Yeah, Dani was really disappointed, too.” He said. “The director is a real pain in the ass.” I nodded.

“Well, I guess it’s just me and Eleanor!” I said positively, cheering myself up with that thought.

“Sorry, Sarah,” Louis said coming into the room. “Eleanor left early this morning.”

“Where’d she go?!” I asked bewilderedly.

“Her modeling agent called her early this morning. Turns out someone got sick for a Penshoppe shoot, so she got the job!” Louis said, obviously proud.

“Wow! That’s great!” I said, genuinely happy for her, before disappointment for myself settled in.

“Well, I guess my days off then.” I sighed.

“Aw,” Harry cooed as he walked into the kitchen. He leaned down and kissed the top of my head. “Why does my sweetheart look so disappointed?” he asked, going over to the cupboard to get a mug before pouring himself a cup of tea and sitting down next to me. Liam was by now completely absorbed in his paper. And obviously, no one had heard from Niall yet and probably wouldn’t for several more hours.

“Neither El or Dani can make it to our shopping trip today,” I pouted, over acting for Harry. He laughed gently at me, combing a lock of hair behind my ear.

“Aw, poor baby,” he joked. “Well, I guess we’ll have to do!” He said, sitting back in his chair.

“Woah, woah, woah,” Louis laughed. “As much as I’d love to watch your girlfriend endlessly shop, Harry, I find that I need to decline.” I rolled my eyes at him. I didn’t ‘endlessly shop’.

“Yeah, yeah,” Zayn joined in frantically. “Right Louis? We’ve got that thing.” Harry and I looked at them scrupulously.

“Right!” Louis said, he was such a bad actor. “The thing! Well, Zayn let’s be off.” They both stood up to leave.

“We know there’s not a thing, and we’re not going to force you so you don’t have to leave.” I laughed, rolling my eyes at their idiocy.

“No, no!” Louis said, continuing with the charade. “There’s definitely a thing!” He called, his arm around Zayn’s shoulders as they walked out of the room.

“How about you, Liam?” Harry asked. Liam looked up from his paper.

“Yeah, no, you two go on without me.” He shot back with a wink.

“Alrighty,” Harry said turning to me. “It’s just you and me!”

--

Harry pulled the Range Rover up to a quiet little boutique in London and parked it on the street. It was a small building, but even from just its white exterior, it looked expensive. I met Harry on the curb where he entwined our hands.

“Shall we?” he asked me, as he ushered me inside. Surprisingly, there were a lot of people in the small building, and several girls looked to Harry and began whispering and giggling to themselves. Harry didn’t seem to notice.

“Hello, Mr. Styles!” A lady in a white business dress said in a French accent, rushing up to us.

“Hello,” Harry smiled at her. “Are you the one I spoke with on the phone?”

“Oui,” she smiled, turning her focus to me. “Please, do come back this way, and you can tell me what sort of thing you are looking for.” She took me by the arm and began pulling me through the boutique, Harry trailing right behind us. “Here, Mr. Styles,” she said, pointing to a leather chair by the fitting rooms. “Some champagne?” she asked, snapping her fingers.

“Sure,” Harry smiled as another employee arrived with a full glass, which she handed to Harry.
“Thanks.” He smiled at her.

“Now, mademoiselle Sarah,” she said, eyeing me up and down. “What kind of creation are we looking for today?” she asked me.

“Well, I want something pretty, you know fun but structured with a bright and relatively bold colour. I want the style to be plain, it’s not an overly formal event.” I told her and she nodded.

“Well,” she said. “I believe I have a couple of selections that will be to your liking!” She said before running off to fetch them. I turned around to Harry and laughed at the sight of him sitting on the leather chair, sipping at his champagne. He smiled and held his arms out for me to sit in his lap. I took the glass from his hand and sipped at the champagne. He smiled at me cheekily.
“What?” I asked him, that peculiar grin still on his face.

“Excited for the fashion show, that’s all.” He winked at me. I laughed.

“Mmhmm,” I leaned down and kissed his full lips quickly. Just then the woman in the white work dress returned, her arms full of dresses. She set them in the fitting room and I read her name tag.

“Thank you, Giselle,” I smiled at her.

“My pleasure,” she said with a slight bow of her head.

“Yes, thanks Giselle, we’ll let you know if we need any help.” Harry smiled at her. She did a little curtsey and left. “Alright,” Harry said. “Let’s see some dresses!” I laughed at his enthusiasm. Giselle must have brought fifteen thousand dresses! Some were garish to look at while others seemed cute. The first one I tried on was a blue one that seemed pretty normal looking. I walked out.

“What do you think?” I asked Harry, throwing my hip out and doing a mini cat walk. Harry laughed.

“It’s alright, but you’re doing the dress a favour, cause otherwise it would be exceptionally plain.” He laughed.

“That’s what I thought,” I said, re-entering the fitting room. After an hour or so of dresses that were either too long, too frilly or too just not me, I decided to lighten things up by trying on one of the hideous dresses I’d set aside. I walked out in a blue and pink ensemble that had bows on either shoulder with a square neckline. A pink bow was tied under the bust, and from there the blue material exploded around me. Harry’s expression quickly went from surprised to horrorified to amused.

“What the hell is that?” he asked, standing up to pick at the layers of fabric that draped my body.

“It’s my dress, of course, darling,” I teased. “I think this is the perfect choice!” I laughed as I twirled around in it. Harry by now was laughing uncontrollably.

“It’s like someone got their inspiration from watching a poor child throw up gobs of cotton candy!” He laughed, still looking at the dress incredulously.

“Wouldn’t Simon just LOVE it if I showed up in this?” I laughed and Harry joined in.

“I honestly think he’d rather you show up naked.” He joked.

“Well, there’s a thought! If none of these work out that’s always an option.” I laughed.

“Hardly,” Harry furrowed his brow and pulled me in closer. “I’m the only one that gets to admire you like that.”

“Mmm,” I agreed. “Well, then perhaps we should save that outfit for the after party.” I winked at him and he bit down on his lower lip.

“Sarah Wilson, you’re going to be the death of me.” He smiled. I laughed loudly, pecking him swiftly on the lips before returning to the fitting room.

--

After trying on several more dresses and extinguishing Giselle’s selection, I became very dejected. Not one had been the look I was going for and I was getting tired.

“I’m exhausted, Harry!” I groaned, leaning into him as his hands rubbed soft circles into my back. “Let’s just go home and I’ll find a dress in my closet.” Harry did not answer as he was staring at something intently. “Harry? Hello, Harry? Are you listening to me?” I asked him, stepping back from him and planting my hands on my hips. Harry didn’t answer he just walked up to one of the racks and pulled a dress from it to hold it up for me.

“What do you think?” he asked me and I scrutinized it. “It’s pretty, fun yet structured, has a bright and vibrant colour and isn’t super dressy!” He cocked his head to the side, waiting for my approval.

“Harry Styles, you are a genius!” I said taking the dress from him and running into the fitting room. It was a bold coral colour, with a deep v- neck, which I simply adored and was the perfect length. It was structured, just as Harry had said, yet flouncy showing off my shape nicely. I ran my hands over it appreciatively, giving myself a nod in the mirror before walking out to show Harry.

“Well,” I asked him holding up my hands. “What do you think?” His eyes popped, clearly liking the way the fabric gripped at my hips and boobs. He stood up and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“I think we have a winner.” He smiled and leaned in, kissing my awaiting lips.

Ah!! They're too adorable. Really, they are! And I just have this sneaking suspicion that a proposal is very near in their future. Maybe even at/ after his mom's wedding. I can't wait til the next chapter!! More please!!!
