The Night I Met Harry

And it starts...

So far he was surprisingly easy to live with. I knew Harry pretty well now but I honestly expected there to be an adjustment. I listened as the raindrops tapped softly against the glass of the window. I'd been sleeping okay lately now, but it'd been three nights in a row that Harry had stayed up with me asleep in his arms. I lie quietly against the bed while I watched him level himself in pushup position against the floor. For the most part he'd seemed okay but I knew what had been bothering him… because the same had been bothering me. The muscle of his arm deepened from the pressure to the floor as he begun, his chest completely bare. My eyes took pleasure in admiring him, while he stared down at the floor. He'd gone for a while before stopping what seemed too soon for my fascination. He pushed up from the floor catching his breath and meeting my eyes. Dimples formed immediately as he walked toward me.

Winter:
"Not a word."

He nodded with the notion before urging me up from the bed. He stood at the foot as I crawled toward him, his hands holding mine. He eyed my lips before pecking them affectionately.

Harry:
"Let's talk."

I stayed quiet as his fingers roamed my waist. If this was about the other day, I wasn’t sure I wanted to talk about it. His hands continued casually as he begun, his face wearing a serious expression. He'd been about to start when the doorbell's resonance echoed throughout the house. His eyes closed briefly.

Harry:
"I'll be back."

He left the room as I stayed put. My hand reached for the remote as I pondered who it could be, swiftly switching through the channels. I fiddled with my scalp idly while I waited for his return, his presence drawing shortly later. My eyes wonder down to the flowers he’d been holding in his arms along with a dark blue folder he held firmly in his hand. His skin color was a little warmer than usually and I’d been witnessing a shift in mood. He held them out to me out of what seemed to be nervousness.

Harry:
“…I didn’t know what kind you’d like…so I sort of peeked in your sketchbook.”

I felt a warmness in my chest as I delivered a smile. I took the lilies from his hands to adore their color before hugging them close.

Winter:
“They’re beautiful Harry, thanks.”

He seemed satisfied with my answer as he pushed his hair from his face.

Harry:
“I’m glad you like them… I just don’t like when you’re sad.”

So it seemed that no matter how hard I’d been trying not to show it and just be okay, he seemed to always know anyway.

Harry:
“I forgot to check the oven; I’ll be right back okay.”

I nodded as I continue to stare at the flowers. It was actually the first I’d gotten lilies and they were really the only kind I liked. I walked over toward the dresser and set them on the edge.

I had taken a vitamin from each bottle, holding them in a group in the palm of my hand. Not that I agreed but Dr. Horan had advised me start taking everything at the end of everyday from now on. I stare at the birth control pills for a second while I thought. Even with our conversation I wasn't sure if I should stop taking them until we had the proper conversation. I didn't want to bother him with this now, and though we rarely used condoms it'd be kind of weird to discontinue without being sure. After the other day I wasn’t sure if this was a good idea at all, but I’d keep it to myself for now. I unscrewed the cap taking out the proper dosage and grouping them with the rest. I popped them in my mouth, picking up the glass from the dresser and gulping until I was sure they'd gone. My hair was tossed from my face. I heard Harry's footsteps reach the door and I'd turned to see him posted in the door frame.

Harry:
"What are you doing?"

He looked up from his phone briefly to comment on what I assumed was my facial expression to his sudden attendance.

Winter:
"Nothing. Just took my med's."

His eyes moved to the dresser as I lie on the bed, my tank top and shorts covering little skin. He walked in, grabbing the birth control and examining silently.

Harry:
"Tell me you didn't just take these."

I stayed quiet as he looked down at me, a grin crossed with disapproval wore on his face.

Harry:
"Babe, you weren't supposed to take them."

I didn't know whether or not I was imagining these words that now he spoke so casually about.

Winter:
"Sorry. You didn't say not to, and I didn't want to assume..."

He climbed over me, each knee on either side of me as he looked down. His face was close now. His chest was bare and his v lines displayed beautifully, disappearing in his shorts.

Harry:
"Don't take them anymore okay."

I nodded my head silently, obeying like a small child. And suddenly I wished I hadn't taken them. The idea of the situation and what it meant gave me butterflies in the low of my stomach. I probably should be talking to my mom about this soon.
