In Thin Air
It it feels kinda weird... Everything we -Calum and I- went through... Never happened... Yet it felt so real...
I felt so safe...
A few days later Charlie walks into the room.
"How are you feeling?" She smiles.
"Fine.. I guess."
I stare at the beeping monitor and the needle in my arm.
"What's wrong?" She asks, knowing me way too well.
I sigh.
"It's just all so weird.. I mean.." I sigh.
I didn't tell anyone about my dream yet.. They'll think that I've gone mad.
"Hey, you can tell me anything..." She says softly.
"It's just... I had this dream while I was in my coma... Dean had this assignment..."
I begin to tell.
I mean, I can trust her.
Somewhere in the middle she lays on the bed too.
"And then you died and Dylan became an obsessed psychopath and Dean was my brother.." I shake my head, I'm near crying again.
"Hold on, Calum fell in love with you and you fell in love with him?" She asks.
I nod my head.
"And you had a crush on Ashton and..."
When I see how she gets bright red I stop.
"You do." I smirk.
"Please, don't tell Dean!" She panicks.
"Of course I won't, but you can't tell him about my dream either." I point my finger at her.
She giggles and I join her.
"God I'm so happy that you're not dead." I mumble while I pull her closer and pet her on her head.
"I'm happy that you and Calum never happened." She laughs.
"I'm not." I whisper.
"What?"
"He was just so sweet, I felt so safe.."
"Lana... Dean will kill you."
"In my dream he understood."
"But this is reality."
"I know...."
-Calum's POV-
"You did what?!" I yell at Ashton.
"I just.. I just thought it would be- be polite to send a card." The poor stutters.
"Polite?! Since when are we polite to them Ashton?!"
"Calum.. You knocked that girl in the hospital without a reason.. You could at least show that you're sorry.."
"I'm not sorry. That bitch got what she deserved."
"Calum.. You-"
"I do whatever the fuck I want."
He sighs knowing that he won't get any further.
"Fine then. Do whatever the fuck you want. Don't come crying to me later."
"I don't do crying."
"Sure thing Romeo." He walks out of my room.
I smirk.
That guy knows me too well.
-Lana's POV-
Charlie falls asleep while I'm still awake.
If it was true about Charlie having a crush on Ashton, maybe other things were true too.
I hear the door go open and look up.
"Hey L." I hear Dean.
"Hey Dean."
"How're you doing?"
"I'm fine. just a little head ache."
"Dean, can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Uh.. I just had this crazy thing in my mind.. But uhh... It couldn't be .. That you're like.. My brother.. Right?"
"What? Why would you think that?" He laughs it off.
When he sees that I'm not laughing he stops.
"You're serious, aye?" He sighs.
I nod my head.
He sighs again before starting to tell.
"Yes.. I am.. Your brother... Our parents had drinking issues and died in a car accident... I took you as my responsibility and took you away. Changed both our surnames so no one would recognise you as 'the daughter from'.. "
"Well.. What's my.. I mean our.. real surname?"
"Johnson."
"What's my- ugh.. I mean our... Parents names?"
"Lana.."
"No, I wanna know where I am from."
He sighs.
"Fiona and Aaron Johnson."
I nod my head and I'm silent for a second.
"Thanks for.. For telling me.." I say finally.
"You had the right to know.."
"But maybe it's better if you get some sleep.." He wakes up Charlie and they left.
Of course, I'm not gonna sleep.
I grab my laptop from my night stander and search for my -apparently- parents.
A lot of articles pop up and I click on a random one.
"Fiona and Aaron Johnson killed by car crash.. Children dissapear in thin air.."
I frown as I read it again and start reading the rest.
"Fiona and Aaron Johnson, better known as Sydney's most dangerous people, died in a car crash about a week ago. Out research came the result that, As we expected, they were drunk when Aaron lost the control over the steering wheel..."
"...Their children, Dean (13) and Lana (8), dissapeared a few days after. A search has started but they seemed to be dissapeared in thin air..."
".... Aaron and Fiona are best known for their multiple murders, but there's has never been enough evidence to arrest them..."
"Just before their death, they apparently aimed it on the Hood family. Their house was set on fire a few hours before The couple's car crash.."
"Calum Hood (8) stayed unharmed while his parents and sister both died in the fire. Though, he doesn't seem to realise it yet. Close ones say that it will take a while before the young boy will realise that all his family is gone.."
I stop top reading and stare at the wall.
My parents... Killed Calum's family...
