Tutor Girl

E I G H T

That night, sleep didn’t come easily for Lux. Louis was on her mind and she couldn’t get his words out of her head. He said he liked her. Did he really like her? It baffled her. She hadn’t changed any since they started hanging out. Maybe he just realized she wasn’t someone to just shrug off anymore. She was doing something right, she figured – something that was appealing to him at least.

It made her wondered when it changed for him. She wondered when he started seeing her in a different light. Maybe it was when she started seeing him in a different light.

Quite possibly, she had been wrong all along. Maybe she and Louis could work out together after all. Maybe her dad would get what he was pushing for. Maybe Louis could be her boyfriend. In her mind, she was never able to imagine Louis ever seeing her like in that sense – so she just told herself it would never happen. Maybe she was wrong.

Her mind raced and kept her awake lying in the dark. It was driving her crazy.

When she woke up in the morning, she felt like she didn’t even sleep at all. She was a zombie as she ate her cereal and got ready for school.

The day dragged on and she didn’t hardly see Louis all morning except for a silent look in each other’s direction from across the school hallway.

Right before English, Lux went to her locker to get her folder for class. When she turned around, she smacked right into Andy Walker. Why did that seem to always happen? She was feeling major déjà vu as she peeled herself away from him.

“Watch where you’re fucking walking,” Andy spat at her.

“Why are you always in my way?” Lux lashed out.

“Whatever, you spaz,” Andy scoffed.

“Hey, shut up, dude,” Louis said, shoving Andy lightly.

“Oh, right. I forgot she is your tutor and you have to kiss her ass,” Andy snickered. Lux glared daggers at Andy. Seriously, if looks could kill…

“Whatever, dude. Go to class and stop being a jerk,” Louis told his best friend.

Lux looked up at Louis with wonder in her eyes. He was sticking up for her to his friend.

“Pussy,” Andy cackled at Louis as he walked off.

“Sorry about him,” Louis told her.

“It’s okay,” she said shyly.

“Wanna go to class?” Louis asked with a light smile.

Lux nodded and the two of them walked side by side together to class.

“Why do you hang out with him? He just makes you look bad,” Lux asked Louis about Andy.

“I don’t know. We’ve been friends since I moved here. He has always been an escape from my family. I could always go to his house to get away from them,” Louis explained with a shrug.

“There are other people you can lean on,” Lux told him as they stopped outside their English classroom.

“I’m realizing that now,” he said, looking into her eyes and it made a shiver run up Lux’s spine.

Whoa.

Had the bell not rung that second, Lux would have guessed he was going to kiss me, standing there right outside their classroom. But his gaze cut away at the shrieking tone and he continued on into the room, taking his seat. Lux followed closely behind feeling the onslaught of awkwardness as Mrs. Mackey started her lesson.

During trig, Mr. Dixon threw a pop quiz at them. Louis who sat diagonally back from Lux looked rather scared at the mention of the quiz.

“You’ll do fine,” Lux told him quietly, sending him a reassuring smile. He shrugged as the tests got passed back, making a ‘oh no’ face once it was place in front of him. Lux chuckled at him, but knew he would be okay.

Taking the quiz, Lux got rather excited because it was on problems she and Louis were working on pretty hard during the tutoring. It was problems he seemed to be understanding. She was excited for him, because she knew he was going to do well on it.

They corrected their quizzes in class just before the bell rang and when it did, Louis immediately came up to Lux with a huge smile on his face.

“I got twenty out of twenty-five,” he said, nearly jumping up and down where he stood.

“Louis! That’s so awesome!” Lux exclaimed, letting her excitement show.

“I know!” He said, just as excited as she was.

“Mr. Tomlinson. Miss Carver,” they heard and immediately turned in Mr. Dixon’s direction.

“Keep up the good work,” he said, smiling at both of them.

“Thank you,” Louis said, smiling back as the teacher went back to his business.

“Louis this is so amazing,” Lux told him as they headed out of the classroom.

“Hey. So, I can’t come over today,” he said, his smile immediately falling off of his face.

“Oh, okay,” she said, showing a little more disappointment than she wanted to.

“Mum wants me home for dinner and stuff. Says she hasn’t seen me around the house enough lately,” he said, rolling his eyes.

“Hey, that’s a start,” Lux said optimistically.

“Yeah. Well, I was wondering if you wanted to come over. We could hang out and maybe you could have dinner at my house for once,” he said, shrugging his shoulders passively.

Butterflies raided her stomach. Wow. Dinner with the parents. It felt so formal even thought she knew it wasn’t that big of a deal. He wasn’t showing her off to them or anything. But the fact that he even wanted to invite her to dinner was great.

“Yeah, sure. I mean, I’d have to talk to my dad first, but yeah,” she told him, letting her smile come back with a vengeance.

“Awesome. Just uh, just come by after school,” he said, smiling back at her.

“Okay,” she said, nodding at him before he headed off to his locker.

One more class of the day and then she would be meeting Louis at his house. Her excitement resonated throughout her body. He made her feel things she never consciously felt before. It was powerful.

At 3:15pm Lux stood knocking at Louis’ front door. It didn’t take him long to answer.

“Lux. Hey,” he said with a wide smile.

“Hey,” she said, smiling back.

He was already changed out of his school clothes and into a t-shirt and running pants, which looked unbelievably good on him.

“Wanna go hang out in my room?” He asked, cocking his thumb back toward the stairs.

“Yeah, sure,” she said as she moved passed him into the entryway before he shut the front door.

Lux followed him up the stairs to his room, where she could hear the simple sounds of Radiohead coming through his stereo. Louis closed the door behind him once they were inside, making it more private in an instant.

“I still can’t believe I did so well on that quiz, Lux,” Louis said happily.

“It’s great, Louis. It’s really great,” she said, smiling as she turned to face him.

“It’s all thanks to you,” he told her and the fondness in his eyes as he looked at her made her blush.

“You’ve had the potential inside of you all along, you just needed to find it,” Lux said, sounding like a bad after-school special or something. He only chuckled and shook his head lightly.

“What?” She asked with a smile.

“You sounded like a Hallmark card or something,” he chuckled, which only made her blush worse.

“Shut up,” she said, biting her bottom lip to try to stifle her smile.

“No, it’s cute,” he laughed, taking a few small steps toward her.

“Well, it’s true, Louis. You worked really hard and you deserved that score,” she told him, feeling pride flow through her.

“So what do you deserve for all your hard work?” He asked, quirking his eyebrow.

Lux could see it in his eyes – he had a reward he wanted to give to her. And it involved the two of them and his bed.

“Your grade is rewarding enough,” she told him. Was that playing hard to get?

“You’re a great tutor, Lux. Maybe you should become a teacher,” he said, taking a couple more steps, closing in on her.

“I hadn’t thought about it,” she said quietly as he finally bridged the gap between them.

“Well, today… I don’t want to study though,” he said as his lips hovered over her own.

“Oh—” Lux breathed, just before his lips met hers.

“I don’t wanna be your friend. I just wanna be your lover. No matter how it ends. No matter how it starts. Forget about your house of cards. And I’ll deal mine,” the beginning of Radiohead’s House of Cards played through the stereo as Louis coaxed Lux down onto the bed.

“Are your parent’s home?” Lux breathed, playing scenarios in her head where his mom or dad caught them instead of his little sister.

“Don’t worry about it. I locked the door,” he told her confidently.

“Okay,” she nodded just as his lips covered hers again.

Their kisses took on a new life of their own. They were hungry for each other. It was reckless and needy and it made Lux’s head spin – in a good way. Louis’ hands worked fast and hard over her breasts, squeezing and petting as he went along. Her hands were gripped tightly onto his back, not really having the nerve to put them anywhere else.

“Do you still feel uncomfortable?” Louis asked, tugging at her shirt, looking down into her eyes after he pulled away.

It caught her off guard, but somehow she felt like she was internally prepared. She pulled herself up, and Louis was forced to sit up too because of her sudden movement. He had a worried expression on his face, probably fearful that he said the wrong thing, thus ending it. But when Lux grabbed at the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head, his eyes lit up and his smile was not far behind.

“Lux…” He breathed as he pressed forward to kiss her, once again coaxing her back on the bed.

His hand tickled up the length of her side as his tongue danced in sync with her own. Knowing that Louis was more experienced than she was, was a little unnerving, but Lux knew she had control of the situation because she trusted Louis. He would stop if she felt things were getting too out of hand. She was counting on that, because she was scared to death of everything they were doing, yet it completely enthralled her at the same time.

“Lux?” Louis breathed against her lips.

“Hmm?” She hummed.

“Do you mind if I took off my shirt too?” He asked, sounding hopeful.

Her heart nearly beat out of her chest. Shit was getting real. She figured Louis noticed the rigidness of her body because he started to stammer and pull back slightly.

“I don’t have to. I mean… but if I do, we can just, ya know… we don’t have to do anything else. I don’t want to pressure you. I’m not looking for anything you’re not willing to give,” Louis rambled out.

“It’s okay,” Lux told him softly.

“Are you sure?” He asked, his eyes really trying to read her own.

Lux nodded in response, looking into his bright blue eyes that always reminded her off the ocean – they were almost as wide and mesmerizing.

He hesitated just for a second, probably making sure it was what she really wanted, before he pulled his shirt over his head. Her breathing hitched in her throat. She couldn’t help it. Her eyes raked over his well-defined abdomen and then up his chest. It was all new to her. Sure she’d seen shirtless guys on TV and on occasion at a swimming pool or the beach, but nothing like this. Not with the boy she liked hovering over her in a sexually charged position. Not with her also having her shirt off in front of the shirtless boy.

“Is this okay?” He asked after tossing his shirt to the side.

Lux nodded, unable to find words for a proper response. He was utterly beautiful. Louis’ eyes flitted over the white material of Lux’s bra, before they met her gaze again. And they were silent in the moment, but their eyes were speaking volumes. There was so much left unsaid, but they felt it all.

Lux reached up, grasping as his sides to pull him back down on top of her. The feeling of his skin against hers was almost too good – almost too tempting. It was racy and provocative and forbidden. The adventure was like a drug – consuming, addicting.

Lux moaned against Louis’ mouth, unable to hold back. The mixture of their body contact, the hormones racing through their systems, and Radiohead flowing through the speakers was intoxicating.

Louis’ hands worked their way down to her thighs, pulling them up, putting his body fully between her legs. They had never been so intertwined before. She didn’t know how to feel. The moment was getting the best of her. His hand gripped tightly against her thigh as he tugged it up even further, and she could feel the excitement he no longer could hold back. She could feel the pressure of it against her and it made her go mad almost immediately. Did she really excited him that much? Did she actually have the power to turn him on?

Louis’ lips worked down her neck, before he boldly kissed a trail down her chest. Oh, God. He was turning her on so much. She almost couldn’t breathe. Her skin tingled as his hands slid up her stomach slowly, before taking a grasp on each of her breasts. And her breathing hitched when his lips came down to kiss the top of them.

Oh, good god.

Lux’s head was tipped back slightly and she was panting. She was aware of it, but she couldn’t help it. She couldn’t help a lot of things her body was doing.

“Fuck, Lux. You are so… beautiful,” Louis breathed against heated her skin.

Her heart squeezed in her chest and her eyes welled with tears, before she willed them away. She never strived for approval from others. She never needed to have everyone to like her or want her near them. But hearing those words out of Louis’ mouth in a moment like that, did something to her. His approval meant so much to her. She couldn’t even begin to explain it.

She felt his mouth get closer and closer to her breasts as his hands worked over the material of her bra. And she knew he wanted more. She knew he was begging for more without actually begging.

“Louis…” Lux breathed.

“Yeah?” He said, stopping immediately as he looked up at her.

Lux sat up slightly, as best she could with him on top of her.

“Is everything okay? Did I—” He stammered, looking as if he were panicking, like he thought he messed everything up.

Lux kissed his lips to calm him a little before she pulled back. He sat up, which allowed her to sit up all the way.

“I’m sorry,” he said and bowed his head.

“No…” Lux breathed as she reached her hands behind her back and unhooked her bra, letting it fall forward off of her chest.

Louis’ eyes seemed to look up in slow motion, wide as can be, fixating on what he silently was begging for.

“Lux…” He breathed.

“It’s okay, Louis,” she told him.

“Are you sure?” He asked, looking into her eyes.

Once again, she nodded, before lying down flat against the mattress. Louis took a deep breath before he laid back down on top of her, pulling her legs up around his waist again.

“Lux…” He breathed against her lips again before he kissed her mouth hard.

It took him a little while to work up the nerve to touch her bare chest, it was almost endearing. He seemed so shy about it now that they were out in the open, like he didn’t have any experience touching a girl. And it made her wonder.

But once his hands were on her, it almost felt liberating – like it was the inauguration of her sexual discovery. Louis’ mouth was driving her absolutely insane as he swirled tiny circles over the heated skin of her collarbone. She wanted so badly to moan out – to let him know how he was affecting her, but she held it in. And then his mouth made the slow descent down her chest, leaving her skin tingling in its wake.

Lux’s breathing slowed as her heart rate increased. And as if he could not control his body any longer, Louis thrust his lower half against her, causing a breathy gasp to expel from Lux’s throat. Her body was hyper-aware of his on top of hers and every single spot it was touching her, and he made her want so much more – even though she knew she wasn’t necessarily ready for everything quite yet.

His mouth moved down the crevice between her breasts, trailing his kisses all the way down her torso and then back up. He stopped once he reached her breasts again, as if he were contemplating his next move. Lux lay there wishing he would just make it, because the suspense he kept her in was almost too much to handle.

Making up his mind, Louis’ mouth wrapped around her left nipple and her whole body shuddered from the feeling. She almost couldn’t believe she was letting such a thing happen, but the sensation that worked its way through her body kept her from protesting. His mouth was warm and inviting, and made her whole body tingle. And she just didn’t want him to stop – especially when his body thrust against her again, earning an involuntarily gasp out of her mouth.

Louis’ mouth worked hard and fast, swirling his tongue around the hardening bud of her nipple, causing it to pucker once his mouth let up. Louis kissed his way across her chest before he moved on to its partner, doing the just the same as he did with the other one. And Lux wanted to cry out, or scream, or something. But she knew that it would only get them caught, and they didn’t need that.

His body thrust against hers a couple more times, causing her to whimper as her heart rate skyrocketed. It was almost too much. And she felt like they were getting way too ahead of themselves.

“Louis…” Lux breathed, grasping gently onto the side of his face, pulling his face up to hers.

“Yeah,” he answered breathlessly.

“I think… I think, maybe we should slow down,” she told him, hating herself just a little bit for putting the brakes on.

“Oh-okay,” he stammered, bracing himself up on his arms as he hovered above her.

“I just… I think we might be moving a little fast,” she told him, feeling her cheeks nearly start on fire due to how badly they were burning.

“Lux, it’s okay. If… if you feel uncomfortable, it’s okay,” he told her.

“I mean it’s not—I mean… okay,” she stammered before she just conceded and nodded her head.

Louis leaned down kissing her lips sweetly before he rolled off of her onto his back next to her. Lux’s intentions weren’t to stop, but to merely slow down.

“Louis…” She breathed through the stillness.

“Hmm,” he answered seconds before there was a rapid succession of knocks on his bedroom door. Louis shot into a sitting position as Lux scrambled to find her shirt.

“YEAH!?” Louis called out.

“Dinner’s ready, Lou,” they heard his mom’s sugary sweet voice through the door.

“I’ll… I’ll be right down,” Louis yelled loud enough for his mother to hear.

Lux already located her bra and was replacing it back on her body as Louis stood up from the bed, adjusting himself. How he was going to go down stairs and face his family with a hard-on in his running pants, she had no idea. But she also wasn’t going to point it out.

Lux replaced her shirt on her body and stood up from the bed as Louis found his shirt and put it on. He also covered up with a hoodie, which surprisingly enough came down far enough to cover himself up. It was kind of ingenious.

“Ready?” He asked, looking over at her.

“Can I… can I go to the bathroom first?” Lux asked, really needing a moment to herself to process what just happened between them.

“Sure. Yeah,” he said as they moved toward his bedroom door.

Once Lux was in the bathroom, she took a deep breath and let it out before she looked in the mirror making sure she didn’t look like she and Louis were just half naked, dry humping up in his bedroom. That was when she noticed a speckling of tiny purple bruises across her collarbone.

Hickies! Plural. Meaning more than one.

Louis gave her hickies. How the hell was she going to sit around a table with his parents sporting little love bites on her neck as plain as day?

Lux whipped open the bathroom door to find Louis leaning against the hallway wall.

“You okay?” He asked, giving her a questioning look.

“Uh… can I borrow a sweatshirt?” Lux asked, using his same ingenious idea Louis had.

“Sure, come on. Are you cold?” He asked as she followed him back to his bedroom.

“Uh… my neck is screaming ‘Louis was here’,” she told him as she let her finger slide over the marks on her neck.

“Huh?” Louis questioned, pausing his quest of finding her a hoodie to give her a look of confusion.

“Hickies. You gave me hickies,” she told him flat-out.

“Oh. Ohhhh,” he said as his eyes met her neck line.

“Shit. I’m sorry,” he chuckled as he pulled a black Adidas sweatshirt off a hanger and handed it to her.

“It’s okay. A little inconvenient to flaunt at dinner with your parents though,” she said with a smirk as she pulled the sweatshirt over her head. It smelt like him and she kind of loved it.

“Yeah. I guess it would be,” he snickered, and Lux almost wanted to smack him for the teasing quality in his laugh.

Lux followed Louis down to the dining room where his family was already seated at the table waiting for him – for them.

“Hello—uh, I’m sorry… I seemed to have forgotten your name,” Louis’ mother Jay greeted Lux with a smile.

“It’s Lux, Mum,” Louis scoffed and Lux could only imagine him rolling his eyes at her.

“Forgive me. It’s a unique name. Not one I hear every day,” she said, looking up at her only son.

“And who is Lux?” Louis’ step-father Mark said, looking up at the two of them, quirking a questioning eyebrow.

“Louis’ tutor,” his younger sister, who Lux knew to be Lottie, chimed in, putting special emphasis on the word ‘tutor’. She was the one to catch them making out that first time after all. Louis scoffed at his sister, shaking his head.

“Oh, what subject? Louis can use all the help he can get,” his step-father said, making Lux bit her lip at the patronizing way he said it.

Louis sighed as the two of them took their seats. Lux immediately felt bad for him, remembering how he described the way his step-father treated him. The man had absolutely no faith in him what-so-ever and it was sickening.

“Trigonometry. And Louis is doing wonderfully. He just got twenty out of twenty-five on the pop quiz we had today,” Lux said, talking Louis up.

“Great,” his mom said with a smile.

“When you come home with passing marks, we’ll celebrate,” his step-father scoffed.

Lux could feel the tension between him and Louis at the dinner table and it made her uncomfortable and angry.

“I think he’s doing awesome. He makes me proud,” Lux said as she smiled over at Louis, only to catch the side of his face. Her words were truthful, and her intentions were to shut his step-father up.

“Hmm,” his step-father grunted as he began shoveling food onto his plate.

Lux’s eyes stayed on Louis, who was looking down at his empty plate as his jaw muscles clenched and unclenched. She had a feeling if she were able to read his mind, it would bring tears to her eyes. She wanted so badly to comfort him, to make him feel better. Her hand found his upper thigh under the table and she ran it along the sinewy muscles for a few seconds before she patted it and pulled her hand back to her own lap. Louis looked over at her, giving her a small smile, but she could still see the sadness in his eyes.

“So, Lux. What are your plans for after high school?” Louis’ mother asked her, changing the subject as everyone began to eat their dinner silently.

“Uh, well. College, I guess,” she said, shrugging her shoulders lightly.

“You guess?” Her husband chimed in.

“Yes,” Lux said sternly, not appreciating his judgmental tone.

“There are barely three months left of your senior year and you guess you will be going to college? You sound like Louis. He’s banking on a football scholarship,” his step-father griped.

Lux took a deep breath in, getting incredibly annoyed with the way she was being spoken to and the way Louis was being spoken about.

“Soccer,” Louis said quietly, correcting his step-father’s use of the European term for the sport. Lux watched the glare Louis earned with his correction and it only added to her annoyance.

“I’ve never seen Louis play, but I have heard many great things about his talent in soccer. I believe the scouts will see his talent just as everyone else sees it. I don’t believe it is that implausible of a feat,” Lux said, immediately coming to Louis’ defense, not because she thought he needed someone to speak for him, but because she felt such a strong territorial sense when it came to him.

Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Louis smirking lightly to himself. Everyone else was staring at her with wide eyes and gaping mouths.

“It’s a pipe dream,” his step-father said under his breath.

“And what if Dave Beckham or Pelé or Diego Maradona’s father’s disregarded their dreams as you are doing to Louis’? What would have happened to them?” Lux retaliated almost immediately.

Louis’ step-father’s eyes seemed to shoot daggers at her, but she didn’t care. The disrespect that came from that man astounded her. No wonder Louis hated being home. No wonder he sought refuge with his friends.

The remainder of dinner was eaten in silence. There was a thick tension wrapped around the dining room. But Louis kept stealing glances at Lux, giving her little smirks. Afterward, Lux and Louis helped his mother with the dishes and the overall clean up. Lux washed the dishes as Louis’ mother sent him out with the trash.

“Louis needs someone like you in his life,” his mother told her. Lux looked up at the beautiful brunette woman, wondering what exactly she meant and hoping she’d elaborate.

“His father can be rather harsh on him. Louis has always been the rebellious type. He’s the only boy and—” She began to explain.

“And he’s not really his father’s son,” Lux said quietly. Jay looked at her with wide, questioning eyes, almost completely baffled that she would know something like that.

“Louis told me all about how he gets treat,” Lux said bitterly, still feeling the aftershocks of their dinner.

“He’s always had it harder because of that,” Jay said quietly, looking away from Lux as if she were embarrassed.

“Well, knowing that fact and continuing to treat him the same way as his step-father does doesn’t help anyone,” Lux said, still in the mind frame of sticking up for Louis.

“I know,” she said quietly.

“Louis is an amazing person with a big heart. He doesn’t deserve that,” Lux breathed, feeling the sting of tears in her eyes.

But it wasn’t only her eyes that were having trouble staying dry. His mother hung her head and Lux heard a sniffle escape. Did she just made her cry? As Louis walked back in, his mother bypassed him and exited the kitchen almost immediately, keeping her head down.

“What was that about?” He asked, giving Lux an odd look. She stood there stunned for a moment, staring at the empty doorway, wondering if she was too harsh.

“Uh, nothing,” Lux said, realizing she only spoke the harsh truth, and his mom needed to hear it. Lux sunk her hands back into the warm soapy water and quietly went back to washing the dishes.

“Thanks for hanging out. And thanks… thanks for what you said,” Louis said quietly as he began drying the dishes.

“You deserve to have someone stick up for you,” she told him as she scrubbed a pan.

“Hey…” He said, calling for her attention.

When Lux looked up at him, he planted his lips against hers, giving her a quick, yet satisfying kiss before pulling back to finish drying the dish in his hand.

A smile spread across Lux’s face and as if contagious, one spread across Louis’ too. And she knew then and there that things with Louis were no longer just casual. Things between them were progressing at a rapid rate and it made her truly happy.

Seriously guys, could you please rate and review? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. :)
