Styles Triplets

Kat: The Kidnapping

Kat had been an emo for the past few days.

She wore a black hoodie and jeans, jeans and sneakers. She wasn't her usual perky self and it was all because of Harry Styles. The events of the art show flashed in her mind. How could he have been so heartless? He had humiliated her, and for what? To impress his just as heartless father?

She had never met the mayor in person, but she had assumed that he was at least a semi-nice individual. It turns out that he was a cold-blooded snake who took pleasure in watching his sons embarrass nice girls.

But was she nice? Honestly, Kat couldn't tell anymore. She had ditched Ari's game, and hurt Nessa's feelings just to please Harry. She was sure she used to be nice, but ever since she met Harry, she was felt like she had changed a lot.

These were the thoughts that ran through her mind as she got out of bed. After showering, she zipped herself into a light pink dress that stopped just under her knees. She brushed her hair back into a messy bun and put on some lip gloss.

Presentable. She thought to herself. Now you don't look like a mopey, angst-ridden teenager.
She could still remember his burning green eyes looking at her, unapologetically, as he poured the champagne on her. She flinched at the memory of returning the stained dress to Tatiana, who angrily went on a rant on how Harry was a demon spawn sent from the pits of Hell, something that Kat finally agreed to.

She walked out into the hallway and peeked into her mother's room, where her mother was fast asleep. Her mother finally had a few days off. Her mother was an accountant who was a workaholic, often working extra hours.

Kat then walked to the kitchen to grab an apple. She wanted to walk around the neighborhood for a little while. She liked walking, just to get her mind off of current events. After grabbing her apple, she exited the house and closed the door, locking it.

She paused when she noticed in front of the house was a familiar black car. And leaning against it was the bane of her existence, Harry Styles himself. He wore leather pants and a leather jacket. His hair was wild and free, with a pair of black sunglasses shielding his eyes.
"Hop in," He ordered.

She blinked, opening her mouth to say something before snapping it shut. She wouldn't even give him the satisfaction. Instead she tried walking past him, ignoring his presence. However, he didn't ignore hers.

He grabbed her arm, stopping her in her tracks. "Kat, we need to talk."

She jerked her arm out of his grip, and continued to walk but he grabbed both of her arms and backed her against the car. She looked at her house anxiously. She wondered if her mother would awaken if she screamed. Then she wondered if she would need to scream if Harry hurt her. Then she wondered if Harry would hurt her.

"It wasn't a request," He told her, running a hand through his hair.

"What do you want?" She demanded. "What are you here for?" Certainly he had better things to do then bother her.

"You," He said softly, and she had a feeling that it was an answer to both questions.

She didn't want to fool herself, however, so she pushed at his chest. "There is nothing I have to say to you."

"Then don't say a word," He said pleadingly, grabbing her hand. "Just listen to me. Please."

"I don't want to listen to a word you say!" Kat yelled. "Because you're a bad person. For a while I thought you weren't, but you are." She could hear her voice breaking. "You are."

Harry paused, his eyes locked with hers. "Tell me you don't mean that."

"You're a despicable waste of space," She hissed. "And I mean that."

His eyes darkened, "Are you riding in the seat or the trunk?"

"I'm not going anywhere with you."

"Like I said before, it's not a request." He said, pushing her deeper into the car. "Just because I have a reputation doesn't mean I'm scared to get my hands dirty. Now you're going somewhere with me so I can apologize."

"This is your apology?" She demanded, her mouth dropped. "Why does your apology involve you kidnapping me?"

"This isn't kidnapping," He argued. "I'll let you go...eventually."

"Eventually?!"

"We're skipping school today," He reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out the car keys. "You won't get in trouble for it, I swear."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because I owe you an explanation," he sighed. "Let me give you an explanation. Please."

"Take off your glasses," She commanded.

After another sigh, he took them off his face, hooking them on his shirt collar.

She looked into his eyes, and saw the hope in them. She also saw the determination, and realized that one way or another, she was getting into the car and going with him. And then she realized what he saw in her eyes, that she wanted to. She wanted to go with him and hear what he had to say.

"Will I be safe with you?" She asked, calming down.

He smirked, "I'll behead anyone who touches you."

"That's a joke, right?"

"No."

"Can I trust you?" She asked next, eyes widening.

He thought about it for a second, "Probably not."

He opened the car door for her and after a sigh and slight hesitation, she got in.

The drive was awkward and silent, with Harry not saying a word while Kat would shoot him uneasy glances. When they reached the forest Kat turned her body to face Harry, who stared ahead nonchalantly. He had put his sunglasses back on, so his expression was unreadable.

"Where are we going?" She asked him.

"We're almost there," He reassured her.

"Either tell me now or let me out of the car."

"Stop with the tough act."

She crossed her arms and pouted, turning away from them.

They hit a dirt road where he drove her to a cliffside. He stopped the car and got out, and she followed him. Walking over to the edge, about ten feet down was the glistening water of Crystal Lake.

She turned around and looked at Harry, who was leaning against his car again, watching her with an amused expression.

She walked over to him, "Why'd you bring me here?"

He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out a phone. After unlocking it and going through a few apps, he pulled up a video. He held out the phone to her and she took it, watching what he wanted to show her.

To her surprise, it was of him carrying her up the steps and to the guest room. She hadn't even noticed that there was a camera in the house.

"Slide your finger to go to the next one." Harry instructed.

She did so, and the next photo was the kitchen. It was empty, causing her to raise an eyebrow, before her eyes settled on something outside the kitchen window. It was her and Harry kissing passionately before he carried her in.

Sliding to the next video, it was of him carrying her up the steps with their lips locked. She could feel her heart racing as the next video was of him on top of her, looking like a crazed dog. He paused, his eyes flashing up to the camera before he glared back down at her, seething.

The phone fell from her hands, and Kat could hear her own ragged breathing. She looked up at him, a sense of betrayal settling over her. Why did her bring her here? To embarrass her more?

Her hand stung from the impact of slapping him. His hand came up to his cheek, touching his fingers gingerly against the reddening skin.

She stormed past him and he grabbed her arm, "Kat, please."

She spun around, tears stinging the back of her eyes. "How could you?!" She screamed, and it seemed to surprise him, as he let go of her arm. "I came here on the hope that you...that you weren't bad but...." She could fear the tears falling down her face. "You recorded me...why?"

"It wasn't me, it was my father." He said. "There is not a moment of privacy I have in that house. And it's not just you. He has videos of Marcel and Nessa, and of Edward on the phone with Ari. He knows about you three."

She cocked her head to the side, "And I'm guessing he doesn't like us?"

"He loathes you. He doesn't think that you girls are good enough for his perfect sons."

She sniffled, "And tell me, what do you think?"

He hesitated, "I think that I don't have a choice. I'm not like Edward. I don't openly defy my father. And I'm also not like Marcel. I don't always do what he tells me to."

"Why did you bring me here?" She asked. "Scared that he'd be eavesdropping at my house?"
He closed his eyes, "I honestly don't know anymore." He looked so vulnerable in that moment that she couldn't help but cup his face with her hands.

"Just tell me the truth," She breathed.

"At my house, the night we kissed, I was mad because he had called me and told me that he got you on camera." He explained. "I kissed you to defy him. To piss him off. Though when we almost had sex, I realized that I had taken it too far, and that was exactly what he wanted. I had played his game and lost. And then at the art gala, it was him who had invited you. He wanted to meet you in person. I had to convince him that you meant nothing to me, so I had no choice but to humiliate you like that."

She shook her head and pulled her hands back, "I've heard enough."

"Kat, listen to me---"

"You kissed me to piss off your father, who basically controls every aspect of your life, and now you're telling me that you embarrassed me in front of a group of people because you had no other choice. You're crazy."

"You don't know my father like I do," He said angrily. "He would destroy you, just to get at me."
"No one in your family scares me." She said.

His jaw clenched, "We should, Kat. "We should scare the living shit out of you."

"Thank you for the warning, now I'd like to leave."

"Why do you think I even brought you here?" He demanded. "I wanted to apologize for---"

"But you haven't," she said simply. "You haven't apologized yet."

He sighed, "I'm sorry."

"Thank you, now I'd like to leave."

He turned away from her suddenly and began beating the car with his fists. She watched with wide eyes, wondering if she should cut in. When he punched the window and there was a cracking sound and Harry hissing in pain, she gave in, placing a hand on his shoulder. He turned on her with a murderous glare, chest rising and falling quickly. She flinched away from him and his face softened.

"I'm sorry." He said, and the way he said it made her resolve crumble. She wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "Please don't leave."

She let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding, "Okay."

And they didn't let each other go for a while.
