Styles Triplets

Ari: The Talent

"I'll see you tomorrow!" Ari yelled over her shoulder to Marie. She nodded her agreement, and they went in their separate ways. Kat rushed beside her, obviously trying to get away from Harry.

Ari smirked, "Have fun?" She asked. Kat glared at her and shoved her shoulder.

"He's the devil incarnate," she huffed. Ari smiled in amusement.

"Kat, I doubt he was that bad."

"You're right, he's worse." Kat pouted. Ari shook her head at her dramatic friend.

"What are you doing later?" Ari asked when they got their school stuff out of their locker. Kat shrugged.

"Maybe hanging out with Nessa if she isn't busy, in the library."

Ari nodded. Nessa Dewan was the other member of their little group. Like Kat, she's a complete wallflower, but she is also a percussionist in the school band.

"Guess I'll catch you two later then." Ari said before heading to the soccer field. She's been wanting to practice this soccer move she saw on YouTube for a week now, but tryouts for this year's teams have gotten in the way. Tryouts started 20 minutes after school, so hopefully she had some time.

When she got there, she stopped in surprise. Edward Styles was on the field playing like pro, doing moves she hadn't even mastered yet. Edward was the school's resident punk bad boy. He was temperamental, rude, and an all-around badass for lack of a better word.

As much as Ari hated to admit it, he was incredibly attractive especially while moving his lithe body around with the soccer ball. He was wearing a tank top, his shirt discarded out to the side, black jeans, and black converse. His tattoos were scattered down his arms, up his neck, and peaking from his back. The lip piercing he had was glittering in the sunlight as he ran juggling with the ball.

Ari slowly approached him. "Didn't know you were into soccer, Styles."

He looked up, startled, and accidentally kicked the ball full force into her stomach. Ari groaned before dropping to the ground on her knees with her arms wrapped around her middle. She rocked back and forth in pain.

"Shit, are you okay?" Ari heard his footsteps but her eyes were squeezed shut. She felt his hands on her shoulders. He sounded worried.

"Fine. I'm freaking perfect." She wheezed, trying to be sarcastic through the pain.

She sat back on her butt and looked up at him. He stared back at her, jade eyes intense with what resembled concern. His shoulder length hair blew in the slight breeze and cheeks flushed from the heat and previous activity. He held up a hand to her, which she accepted, before roughly yanking her off the ground. Ari's stomach was still hurting, but she knew she was fine.

"Sorry," Edward mumbled, running his hand through his damp hair. "You caught me off guard."

Ari scoffed, "That ball caught me off guard. Nice kick."

Edward shrugged before picking up his stuff and began leaving the field. His long strides propelled him forward quickly.

"Wait!" Ari yelled, jogging to catch up.

He slowed a little but continued forward. When Ari caught up, she lightly grabbed Edward's wrist and gently tugged him back to get him to stop. He jerked his arm from her hold before glaring down at her in aggravation.

"What do you want?" His tone dripped with annoyance.

Bipolar much! If anyone should be annoyed it should be me. He hit me in the stomach with a freaking soccer ball. Ari seethed in her mind.

"You're really good with your feet. Why haven't you tried out for the team?" Ari asked knowing he'd be a great addition for the boy's team.

He rolled his eyes. "Why would I want to waste my time playing for a lousy high school soccer team?"

Ari scowled, and her jaw clinched in anger. What a freaking butthole!

"What do you mean 'lousy high school soccer team'? I'll have you know that both of the teams have each won two championships during my time in high school alone! You sure your real answer isn't that you're scared to lose your 'I don't care about anything' attitude?"

He gave a humorless chuckle, "I don't play well with others."

"I doubt you've tried."

Edward glared at her, "You know nothing about me."

Ari crossed her arms, "Exactly my point. Nobody does, Edward! You have talent that you should use. You don't have to be social or make friends. I'm just asking you to try out." Ari said taking a deep breath, "Can you at least think about it?"

Edward rolled his eyes with a quiet "whatever" before walking away.

Ari sighed, shook her head, and started setting up for tryouts. So much for practicing that move.
