Underneath

Without thinking further, I strip off and dive in. The water catches me in a buoyant embrace. Immediately, Harry tumbles beneath me, in an explosion of glittering bubbles. The delicate blue lights play over his body as I reach for him...missing his foot...he flips away, playing a game of chase.

He swims hard as I follow, grabbing the side and pulling himself out in one smooth movement. He sits on the edge watching me, eyes glowing like shipwrecked glass…I push away, fling my arms wide, float on my back…give him something to look at.

A slow smile, full of lust, “Good grief girl, you’re gorgeous, come here,” he says. …he slides his hands under my arms and picks me out the water, reaching my mouth with his lips…and this is how we kiss, with me suspended, always just hanging on to this incredible moment, this beautiful man…

…we twist underwater, our bodies joining and uncoupling…swirling round and back again. Finally, we’re in the shallow end and he picks me up bridal style. I loll back in his arms and he cradles me in time with the swell of the water. We go to the edge and face each other. We haven’t said a word for ages.

I press my forehead against his, breathing him in, my legs wrapped round his hips. “Stay with me,” he murmurs. I kiss him in answer, not trusting myself to speak. I slip my tongue into his mouth as his hand strokes my face lightly…

…I face away from him, elbows resting on the side as he pushes into me. Every moment sends a fresh rain of sparks down my thighs and into the blue water lapping around us. I cry out loudly, unable to hold it in. He gasps, dropping his face to my shoulder. I reach back and feel his curls wet in the palm of my hand.
