Just by Chance

I'm Sky Peters. I'm 19. I lived with my parents until they died in a car crash. I mourned their death ever since. Did self-harming, cried myself to sleep, and talk to them in my room even if they're not there. I went insane. Then one day, My sister, Misty, came and told me that i was moving in with her at L.A. I was hesitant at first, but it came to my mind that i could have a fresh start there. And i could reunite with my best friend, Genevieve. Or Gen, as i call her. It took me a few days to agree. Misty helped me pack up my things and and bring anything as a memento from my parents. She knew how much i loved them. "So, um.. what are we gonna do with all of this since I'm going with you?" I asked," Well.. maybe we could sell them and then the house? So you can have a bit money in your pocket? Or.. hm.. well stuff gets real dramatic up in LA so.. maybe you could come back here to cool down? I know you wouldn't wanna sell everything your parents bought. And you grew up here." Misty replied,"Hmm.. yeah.. okay." So it was settled. Once we packed up our, or rather my stuff, i was surprised that she already booked plane tickets. So we went to the airport at once.

So, we just landed at LA. As we got off the plane, she led me through the crowd and out of the airport, trying to haul a cab. Damn there was so many people. At last we finally got to her flat. It was really big. Like, it has 3 bedrooms, with personal bathrooms, vanities and closets. And the living room was super big. It was kinda modern. Shiny black and white tiles, gray carpets and a huge kitchen. Well, perks of having a lot of money AND living in LA. " Um.. want me to show you your room? I mean, you can almost see almost every part of the place so yeah." Misty suggested, " Oh, uh sure.." I replied. She nodded, and led me up a really fancy flight of spiraled stairs. I felt like the stairs would collapse any minute. But it didn't , thankfully. As we got up the stairs, she grabbed my hand and led me to the farthest room. She opened the door, i gasped in amazement. "Ta-Da!!" Misty said," Misty! This room is beautiful!" I half-screamed. I mean, seriously, it had my favorite colors! Ombre style! The bed was a King size, with lavender pillows, light pink and cream ombre sheets, and a beautiful lavender duvet. It looked really comfortable. Then the walls were an amazing light blue to lavender color. It was really beautiful. Not to mention the personal bathroom was 100% porcelain? I feel like i was living in a mansion! "I'm gonna let you unpack your stuff. I still gotta cook us some lunch." She hugged me tightly," I hope you like it here!" She said before exiting, closing the door behind her. I eagerly put down my suitcases and clicked them open. I started folding my clothes and neatly arranging them in the closet. I put my dresses, robes and onesies in the closet as well, putting them on a hanger. I put my shoes in cabinets. Most of them are just keds and converse anyway. I then moved back to the dresser, putting my makeup in each drawer. Then i placed my perfumes neatly on the dresser. After a lot of walking, arranging, I finally finished. Then Misty just barged into my room," Hey, the food's ready!" She half-shouted. I replied" Cool sis. What's for lunch?" " Just some cream of chicken, and bacon-wrapped asparagus." She answered. My eyes shot open when i heard bacon. I was obsessed with bacon." Bacon?! Race you to the dining room!" I shouted, dashing out of the room and half-ran down the stairs. I got to the dining table, then i feasted on whatever was prepared. This wasn't as bad as i thought.
