Nothing At All

Chapter Seven

Rosemarie’s POV
I was currently sitting in the living room watching The Notebook bawling my eyes out. Harry had completely humiliated me in front of the entire school. He posted my personal life on the walls of the school and now everyone knew about my insecurities and about personal life struggles. I was wallowing in my self-pity when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I spun around to find my mom walking down the stairs.

“What’s wrong with you?” she asked.

“Nothing you would care about,” I muttered and turned back to the TV.

“Rose you only watch The Notebook when something bad has happened,” my mom said sitting next to me, “What’s wrong?”

“Like you care,” I said looking at her, “I’m just a disappointment to you.”

My mom’s face then frowned.

“Rose I never meant that when I was yelling at you,” she said, “I said that when I was upset and I don’t find that you’re a disappointment at all. I’m actually really proud of you. You’ve been doing your brother’s homework and your homework and working part-time at two different clothing stores. Are you crazy?”

“You know about that,” I said shocked.

“The school called,” she said, “but I didn’t want to say anything because I knew you were trying to help out and not make me worry about John Michael.”

“So you’re not mad?” I asked and my mom smiled and shook her head no as she wiped my tears.

“Now what boy made you cry?” she asked and I then spent the next two hours explaining to her what’s been going on with school and Harry and what he did.

By the end of my story, I was crying again and I was just feeling miserable. My mom was a bit pissed off at Harry for pulling that stunt.

“Well I called off work for this week,” she said, “Do you want to go get some ice cream to help?”

“Please,” I sniffled.

“Alright,” she smiled, “Why do you get your shoes on and we’ll head out.”

“Okay,” I said.

That’s what my mom and I did. We went to get ice cream and we mended our broken relationship. Harry was right about one thing from his letters. I needed her in my life and we both needed to fix our relationship because family was what all you had once everyone left.

After all these years my mom went into an explanation to why her dad got a divorce and how they were together because she was like me when I was a freshman in high school. She partied all the time and ended up getting pregnant with me and John Michael at sixteen. They were only together because of us. I then apologized for going off the deep end and getting all the tattoos and piercings but I then explained all of the tattoos and why I got them. By the end of our ice cream outing, my mom and I were back to our normal relationship before I started high school.

“So are you going to give him a second chance?” my mom asked me as we drove back home.

“I don’t know,” I sighed looking out the window, “How can you forgive someone who does a thing like that. A person you call a friend.”

“Anger makes you do stupid things Rose,” my mom said.

“I know,” I sighed, “But it just hurts. I trusted him with secrets that I haven’t told anyone other than you and Johnny.”

“I know sweetheart,” my mom said, “but I have a feeling if you’ve really fallen for this boy like you say you have then you’ve already forgive him.”

I frowned out the window because even though I was completely hurt, my mom was right. I already forgave Harry the minute I got a text from Delilah saying Harry was going crazy trying to find out where I was. My mom pulled up the car into the driveway and I made my way up to my room and just sat and stared out my window seat.

It had been a week since I’ve spoken to Harry. Every time I’ve seen him in school, I pretend to be busy with something. The rumors got worse and of course there was nothing I could really do about it but just let them roll off my shoulder. I wouldn’t even let Delilah or the girls sit next to me in classes. I told them that I wasn’t going to become between them and their boyfriends since they were friends with Harry. I was going to be just fine. Tonight however, the girls demanded that I go out and have a Harry free night. That was going to be hard since I knew Harry would probably be there, with another girl. The thought of Harry talking to another girl bothered but what was I supposed to do? I wasn’t going to just go up and talk to him. I wanted to see that he was truly sorry and after I didn’t answer him once he just gave up. Maybe I should start giving up too. I wasn’t even allowed to get myself ready either. The girls came over and we got ready together.

“And your mom is cool with the whole partying thing?” Delilah asked.

“Yes,” I said, “She realizes the more you tell someone no, the more they’ll just do it behind your back. She just says don’t do anything stupid.”

“Yeah and you’re the poster child for not doing anything stupid,” Danielle said as she finished my hair.

“Thanks for the load of confidence Dani,” I replied rolling my eyes.

“So what’ll happen if you see Harry tonight?” Perrie asked as she took me to do my makeup.

“I’ll probably be drunk enough to tell him my thoughts on him,” I said, “He’ll hate me after but I really don’t care.”

“Or you’ll sleep with him because you’ll be too drunk to say no,” Eleanor said grinning.

“I highly doubt your idea will happen,” I said looking at Eleanor.

“It will watch,” Eleanor said, “Or you’ll make up one or the other.”

“Sure it will,” I said sarcastically.

Perrie soon finished up my makeup and then they let me get dressed (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=85999277). We walked downstairs to find my mom just watching Love Actually.

“Okay Mom we’re going,” I said, “Worry about us if we’re not back by Sunday afternoon because if we’re to drunk. . .”

“Stay there,” she said.

“Got it,” I said.

She then got up from the couch and I gave her a hug and kissed her cheek and the girls did the same thing.

“Be safe girls,” she said.

“We will,” we all said and we all got into Delilah’s car.

We soon drove across town to where the party was being held and we all got out. Delilah looped her arm with my left arm and Perrie took my right arm and looped it with hers. We then made our way into the already raging party. We walked to the kitchen and we all got a glass of beer.

“Why don’t you guys go find the boys,” I said, “I know they’re already here. They came to pick up John Michael at like eight.”

“We will later,” Delilah grinned, “Let’s go have some fun!”

After a few drinks and many songs of dancing with the girls, I made them go find the boys who were looking for them as well. I was far past tipsy when I stumbled back into the kitchen and grabbed myself a beer. I drank it in one standing and then made my way to the dance floor.

“What’s a pretty girl like you doing here alone?” a guy’s husky voice asked me.

“Waiting for a handsome fella like you,” I grinned spinning around to face him.

“Dance with me,” he said and dragged me to the dance floor.

In the back of my mind I knew that this was wrong but I was too drunk to even care. Harry had hurt me and his actions said that he didn’t care about me. I had already found him making out with some red headed girl so he obviously didn’t care. The guy I was dancing with was pulling me close to his body and soon I felt my head move to the side so he could get better access my neck. However, the feeling of his lips on my neck didn’t last very long because I felt him being ripped away from me. My eyes snapped open and I spun around to see Harry beating up the guy that I was dancing with. I quickly grabbed Harry and physically pulled him off of the guy.

“Harry!” I snapped.

He stopped and spun around and I glared at him.

“What the hell?” I growled.

“You’re mine,” he replied just as angry.

“No I’m not,” I said and I noticed Harry’s eyes were pitch black from his normal emerald color eyes.

I quickly got in between Harry and the guy to see that he had was a busted lip, bloody nose, and probably a nice black eye that was already swelling shut. I saw was about to ask him something when someone pulled me back by my waist and threw me over their shoulder. I saw curly hair and started beating on his back.

“Harry you put me down now!” I exclaimed, “I am not yours to claim! Put me down!”

“No way,” he growled, “You’ve been avoiding me all week. We need to talk.”

He then put me in his car and slammed it shut. I tried to get the door to open but he had the child lock put on. I just crawled into to the back and growled when I saw both sides of the car with the child lock on.

“I figured you might try to get out of the back,” Harry said as he got in.

I then just sat in the back seat.

“Are you going to come up front?” he asked.

“I’d rather kill myself,” I replied harshly and Harry sighed.

He started the car and started driving to his house.

“Are you even going to talk to me?” he asked.

“No,” I spat, “Why would I talk to you after you broke my heart!”

I then felt the tears fall down my face and I looked over out the window. Soon the alcohol started having its normal effect on me and my eyes slowly drooped and soon I was fast asleep.
