You & I (Sequel to What A Feeling)

Chapter 3

Becca and Niall sit at their dining room table, joined by Kara and Adam.
“Alright people, let’s pick a wedding date.” Becca smiles.
“Today works for me.” Niall winks.
Becca reaches out to take his hand, squeezing it.
“Everyone have their calendars?” Kara asks. When they all nod, she says, “Then let’s do this.”
“I don’t think we’d have time to plan one by the end of this year, so let’s look at next year.” Becca says.
“So you need not just one day but a couple weeks free so you can go on a honeymoon, correct?” Kara asks.
“Correct.” Niall answers quickly.
Kara smirks. “I think the leprechaun is most excited for the honeymoon. Am I right, Niall?”
He blushes. “How about January?”
Becca looks at her calendar. “I have the NHL All-Star Game and NFL playoffs.”
Kara looks at Adam. “Is she speaking english?”
Niall speaks up. “Hockey and american football.”
Kara smiles. “That I understand.”
Niall grins. “How about February, Love?”
Becca refers to her calendar. “February is bad. I have the Super Bowl, NBA All-Star Game and Spring Training begins.”
“That’s alright, Babe. How bout March?”
Becca doesn’t even have to look at her calendar. “Spring Training. My boss already told me he wants me to cover it.”
“Alright. April?” Kara asks.
“I’ve got The Masters.” Niall says.
“And I have MLB Opening Day.” Becca adds.
“May is probably out, I’ve got a golf tourney to be at.” Niall says.
“June is the NBA Draft.” Becca says.
“You can’t skip that?” Kara asks.
Becca looks at her friend, irritated. “It’s pretty important and I still have baseball too. Besides, isn’t it a little cliche to get married in June?”
“Most girls dream of a June wedding.” Kara says.
“In case you haven’t noticed, Kara, I’m not like most girls.” Becca snaps.
“Alright ladies, let’s move on.” Niall insists.
Kara purses her lips. “Well, I can’t do July. I think the local high school is having a badminton game.”
Becca slams her calendar down on the table and storms out of the room.
“Kara!” Niall frowns.
“Sorry. I just don’t see why she can’t skip something.”
“Because her career and sports are important to her.”
“And where do you fit in there?” Kara asks.
“B makes it clear to me that I come first. I know if we keep at it, we’ll find a date that will work for both of us.”
“I’ll go after her.” Kara says.
“No, I’ve got her.” Niall insists.

He finds Becca in the backyard. She turns to look at him with tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Oh, Darling, don’t cry.” He pulls her into his arms. “I promise it will all work out.”
Becca looks into his eyes. “You know you come first in my heart...don’t you, Niall?”
He smiles, kissing her forehead. “I do, Babe.”
“Why can’t Kara understand that my career is important to me. How many people get to have a job doing what they love?”
Niall grins. “Not many. You know I understand.”
Becca smiles as he wipes away her tears. “I’d never ask you to give up what you love. Why should I have to give up what I love?”
“You absolutely shouldn’t, B. I think the problem is, Kara doesn’t understand the way you feel about sports. So in her mind she thinks ‘just skip it’. I, however, do understand, Darling. That’s why you are the only girl for me.”
“I love you, Niall. I really want to marry your adorable Irish ass.” Becca grins.
Niall cackles loudly. “We will work this out, B. You will be my wife one way or another. Even if we have to have our wedding right now in this garden and I make love to you in those bushes over there for our honeymoon.” He teases.
Becca smirks. “Damn Horan, that weirdly turned me on.”
Niall laughs. “What am I gonna do with you, B?”
Becca wraps her arms around his neck, quietly saying, “Anything you’d like, Irish.”
“Mmm.” Niall moans as his mouth is on hers. His tongue finding hers. The taste of her causing him to forget they have guests. His hands move down her back to rest on her ass, pulling her closer. As he kisses her neck, he whispers in her ear, “Think I could just carry ya to the bedroom and they wouldn’t notice?”
Becca bites her lip as he finds one of her favorite spots. “They’d sure as hell hear me screaming out your name.”
Niall stops, looking in her eyes. “Damn, Babe.”
She laughs. “Let’s go work out a date...then I’ll ‘work you out’ later.” She winks as she slaps his ass.
As she starts to walk away, he pulls her back. “I love you more than I ever thought possible, B.”
Becca smiles, cupping the side of his face. “Same, Horan.”
