Rise -On Hold-

The moment he walked into the room I was a goner and with me all the other girls but he would never notice me though, so I turned back around, this way I wouldn’t get in trouble. “Class we have a new student, his name is Liam Payne” I dared a look at him and saw that he sat down next to Amy, she was the most popular girl of the school and she loved to make my life a hell on earth, when she gets the chance. I knew that I didn’t stand a chance when I saw her looking at him, if she could’ve brand him, she would have and to be fair, with the lack of my social abilities there was no way I could win him over.

“Mr. Payne would you please introduce yourself to the class?” My English teacher asked him and everyone in the class turned around to stare at the guy with the short brown hair, the tattoo on his lower arm and the slightly build physic. “I’m Liam and I just moved here from Wolverhampton, England.” He smiled at no one in particular and sat down but before he sat his eyes fell on me and even though I knew I was blushing like crazy I decided to do something out of character and I actually smiled at him, which I regretted the moment my eyes fell on Amy, she saw the smile and the evil smile appeared on her face. “OMG did you just smiled Emma?” her high pitched voice hurt my ears and I quickly turned around and looked at my desk pretending to study but I know this was just the start of Amy’s terror.

“Miss Smith, will you continue our reading?” The teacher asked but I already saw this one coming, as she loved to put me on the spot. “I’m sorry sir but I have a sore throat, maybe Emma could do this part?” I looked at the page we were reading and dreaded it immediately because this was the intense love making scene between the two main characters and with my lack of social skills this was the most horrendous thing ever, I couldn’t read that out loud in front of the entire class. “Miss Mendez if you please?” I know all eyes were on me but all I could do was stare at the words hoping they would disappear. I could hear them whisper and giggle behind me, which made this ten times worse and it made me wanna hide. “Well miss Mendez?” I shook my head and I could hear the teacher sigh but before he could say something a low voice filled the room. He was reading my part, he was helping me and to say I was shocked about that was an understatement because no one ever helped me out, this also made the entire classroom quiet, as they were in shock as well. I dared a glance at Liam but when I caught Amy’s eyes I turned back around but I couldn’t help but smile.

News like this spreads like wild fire, I mean helping out the outcast was something you just didn’t do but there was Liam who just did exactly that. It didn’t put a dent in his reputation though as he was accepted by the popular crowd and that was also the last time I dared to look at him because Amy didn’t waste any time that day and well let’s say a certain lunch was wasted and that I had a new pair of clothing on right now.

The only time I could escape Amy was when I had my programming classes. I didn’t spend any time over fussing about Liam even though he was all I could think about and the way he had helped me and I know I should thank him but I didn’t want to die, so I just forget about it, after a few days I was happy that it was finally Thursday evening, which meant a movie night at the cinema and it also meant my escape from working and looking after my little sister, as she was with a friend, I had to pick her up after the movie but for now I could enjoy myself with my only friend Michael. We were going to see Captain America; civil war and Michael wouldn’t stop talking about it.

“You know, I think Captain America is my favourite superhero.” I told him but that made him pull a face. “What, what’s wrong with that?”

“Emma come one, Iron Man or Spiderman are the better options, you know that.” I shook my head smiling. “Nope, I don’t agree but you’re allowed to have your own opinion.” I smiled at him and even stuck out my tongue. “You know we survived our first week but you really have to get on time for biology because the teacher is asking for you.” I nodded because he was right but I just didn’t feel like going to that first class and it’s not like I will have money for going to a university. “I know, I will be there tomorrow okay.” I know he was sceptical about this but he didn’t say anything as the movie started. After the movie I went to get my little sister and when we got home I put her to bed and myself did some homework and at 3am I finally went to bed..
