Pretty Girls Lie

Ashton was the first one to walk trough the door, and was again greeted with three confused guys.

- What happened? - Calum was the first one to speak.

Soon Hope walked in behind Ashton.

- Hope's gonna be staying here. - Ashton said happily.

- Just for a few days. - She said quietly.

- Or longer... - Ashton added, and caused Hope to give him a half smile.

- That's great. Mi casa es tu casa! - Michael happily approached them, and patted Hope on the back.

- Are you two alright with this? - Ashton asked the remaining members on the couch.

- Yeah, of course. - Calum said and smiled, while Luke just nodded after a big pause and continued sipping his tea.

Everyone, including Hope, noticed Luke wasn't too fond of this but no one mentioned it.

- Wait, is that really everything you own? You don't have any other clothes? - Ashton asked Hope.

- Yeah, I was in the hospital when our landlord decided to kick us out so I didn't have a chance to take anything...

- Then we have to go shopping! - He said excitedly. - My treat.

- No way. I'm not letting you do me any more favors and there are these things called washing machines.

- Oh come on. We're family.

- You've known that for less than an hour.

- So what?

- Look, I appreciate everything you're doing for me, but I can't let you do that as well... I'll figure something out.

- Alright. - And with that they ended that conversation.

- We should have a welcoming party! - Michael suddenly said.

- Oh no, that's... - This time Hope was cut off.

- Sweet child, any excuse to drink is a good excuse. - He said and made everyone laugh. - Calum get the car keys, we're gonna get drinks. Luke you wanna come?

- Sure. - He answered shortly.

- How 'bout you two? - Michael asked them. - You coming or staying and catching up?

They exchanged looks and agreed to stay.

Luke was the first one to go out, and without saying goodbye.

- We'll be back soon. - Calum said with a smile.

- Bye love. - Michael said to Hope and kissed her on the cheek, and his livelyness made her smile.

- Is he always like that? - Hope asked with a smile when all three of them left.

- Most of the time. - Ashton smiled as well. - Come on, let me show you where you'll be staying.

They went up the stairs which were both left and right of the door.

- How many rooms do you have? - Hope asked, more rhetorically, not believing how big their apartment is.

Ashton just chuckled and led her to a door.

- Here we are. - He said and opened the door, being a gentleman and letting her go in first.

- Holy shit. - She said under her breath. - You know, I really don't have to stay here, I can just sleep on the couch for a few nights.

- Nonsense. You are a guest of honor and a possible roommate, you're staying here. - He said playfully but determand to which she chuckled and smiled, and so did he.

- Thank you. - She said and looked at him.

- You don't have to thank me, we're family. - He smiled, to which she answered with a smile of her on.

Not long after Calum, Michael and Luke retuned with some booze, and not long after Hope's welcoming party stared.

- Wait, are you old enough to drink? - Ashton suddendly asked Hope.

- Yeah, I'm 18. - She laughed.

- Well then, cheers! - He said and their glasses clicked.

They drank together and talked about the most unimportant things, but even though they barely knew each other it felt right.

Luke seemed pretty distant all night and it wasn't long until he called it a night and went to his room. Soon Michael and Calum followed, and Ashton and Hope didn't stick around for much longer.

Hope was in the room, which they generously let her stay in, sitting on the floor and watching the beautiful Sydney trough the widnow which covered the entire wall. Someone knocked, and soon Ashton poked his head trough the door.

- Can I come in? - He asked politely.

- Yeah.

- I brought you some clothes you can sleep in, again it's pretty big, but it should do. - He said and left the clothes on the bed. - I don't have any, um, underwear you can wear but...

- That's alright, thank you. - She said. - I mean it.

Ashton smiled and showed his dimples.

- There's a bathroom right across the hall. Mikey and I just use it, and now you.

- Thank you. - She got up from the floor. - Is it cool if I go and take a shower?

- Yeah, sure, go ahead. - He said. - Michael already went to bed and I just came out of the shower so it's all yours.

- Alright, thank you. - She took the clothes he gave her and went to the bathroom.

I just want to say this for this one and all the future chapters, I know I haven't written the characters to be exactly how they are in real life, but this is purely fiction so please take no offense.
