Pretty Girls Lie

- Hello... - He said observing the girl. - Have we...

- Look. - She cut him off. - You don't know me, we've never met, but I'm...I'm your sister.

Luke and Ashton looked at her dumbfounded while her expression could not be more serious. After an exchange of some serious stares Ashton started to laugh.

- That's pretty funny. Did you and the guys put her up to this? - Ashton asked, turning to Luke.

- What? No.

After his mate answered him in all seriousness Ashton once again turned to Hope.

- How? - He asked quietly.

There was some loud talking outside the apartment and soon the door opened and the remaining two members of the band walked in, Calum and Michael. They started to say hi but paused after they saw Hope, and everyones faces.

With the look of regret in her eyes Hope finally spoke again. - I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come here. Just forget I said anything.

With that she turned around and stormed out of the apartment leaving the certain two of them more confused than the others. It didn't take long for Ashton to storm out of the apartment after her. But just as he reached the elevator the door closed separating the two of them. Without missing a heartbeat Ashton started sprinting down the stairs hoping to catch up to her.

She was walking out of the building, in a hurry, stepping into the rain again.

- Wait! - Ashton called on to her. - Please.

He stepped into the rain as well, his small locks getting wet in a matter of seconds.

Once again regretting her decision seconds later, she stopped and turned around.

- You can't just tell me something like that and then just leave like nothing happened. - He said in a pretty calm tone, considering the situation.

- I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have come here in the first place. - She said, tears slowly filling her eyes.

- I...how do I know you're telling the truth? That you're actually my sister.

After a few seconds of thinking about her next move, Hope reached into her bag and pulled out a folded piece of paper and handing it to him.

- What's this?

- My birth certificate. - Her low husky voice barely reaching his ears.

He unfolded the paper and the expression on his face was giving away mixed signals about what he was felling. One guess is that he didn't like what he saw. On the paper were three names, Hope's, her mother's, and the one that hurt Ashton the most, his father's.

- Your name is Hope? - Ashton asked her politely, showing his dimples when he smiled.

- Yeah. - She answered, giving him a half smile, and revealing she has dimples as well.

- Nice to meet you Hope, I'm apparently your brother, Ashton. - Ashton seemed sweet and pretty calm for the situation.

Hope looked surprised when he held out his hand and how collected he was after he just found out he has a sister, but she took his hand anyway and politely answered him. - Nice to meet you too.

- Not that I don't like this bonding stuff, but what do you say we continue inside?

She didn't answer, she just stared at him.

- Come on, you don't want your brother to get sick, do you? - He asked half jokingly.

- Alright. - It was all she said, and they went inside.

They didn't say a word until the walked into the apartment, where they were greeted with three very confused guys.

Ashton was the first to speak. - Everyone, this is Hope. She seems to be my sister.

Calum's and Michael's mouths flew open, while Luke got up from his seat and approached Ashton.

- How do you even know she is actually your sister and not some crazy girl trying to steal your money? - He asked. - No offense.

- None taken. - She said understandingly, while Ashton gave Luke her birth certificate he was still holding.

Luke looked at the certificate than turned his gaze to Hope. - Nice to meet you, I guess.

- You too. - She said politely, shaking the hand he held out.
