Clueless | N.H.

I looked at him curiously and raised my eyebrow. "Um, no. I'm sorry, have we been schoolmates or something?" I asked desperately to remember if I knew him from my old elementary or high school days, even though it would be odd, because he was defenetly Irish and I grew up in France.
He laughed and shook his head. "Oh no, maybe I mixed you up with someone else" he said still smiling.
I didn't bother to question him again, but who was he? Why he seemed to be sure that I know him?
I just put the volume up of the radio when I drove on the highway to Nancy. There was One Republic on the radio and I started humming.
I sank deep into my thoughts and I infortunately forgot that I have a guest in the car, I started singing.
"Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could be, baby I've been, I've been praying hard, said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars" I sang firstly quietly and tthen louder and louder.
Suddenly I heard another voice singing with me. It was the voice of an angel. When I finally realised that he was actually singing with me, I turned my head aside and stared at him with open mouth for a few seconds.
"Woah man, you can sing! That was really good." I said and smiled.
"Actually it's you that is really good." He said with a smirk.
Why did I think I knew this guy? Something in my gut told me that I should know him.
"So, what's your story? Oh! You didn't even told me your name." I said desperately wishing to suddenly know his name.
"You didn't tell me yours. You first." He anwsered with his charming Irish accent that made my hands sweaty. What the heck? Maybe it was just hot in the car so I turned the ventilation on.
"I'm Laura, and you?" I said and looked at him for a second and then my eyes went to road again. He had beautiful smile on his face when he looked at me with his deep blue eyes. He took his hat of and went through his hair with his fingers. Then he scratched his beard. Oh god, beard.
"You okay?" He asked and I quickly looked at him confused.
"I'm sorry, did you say something?" I said confused and he chuckled.
"I said my name is Niall and I'm taking an Eurotrip, just me, myself and I. And it's perfect." He said and I nodded. It seemed logical. The rest of the drive passed by quietly.
When I drove from the highway to Nancy, I asked: "So where do you want me to pull? Maybe you need a hotel? It's a little bit late for a tour." I chuckled and he noded.
"Uh yes, you can drop me by any hotel you know, because I don't know any." He said and we laughed. "But maybe you can give me a tour tomorrow?" He added and I turned my head with surprise.
"Of course." I smiled and he returned me one of his gorgerous smiles.
"Can you give me your number please? So I can harass you with annoying tourist texts?" He joked and I laughed while handing him my phone. We changed numbers when we pulled in front of a 4star hotel.
"Thank you very much for the ride, Laura. See you tomorrow." He said and looked me straight in the eyes. I felt my whole body froze and then got it together and smiled to him.
"Bye, Niall." I said while he closed the door and went into the hotel.
