Harmed

"Sierra?" He whispers full disbelieve.

"Hey." I try to smile, but fail when I see him laying there. I thought that I would need to keep myself from punching him in his face, but seeing him laying like this.. It... I don't know.. It just.. Hurts me.
His arms are bandaged, his wrists thicker than his underarms.
I almost need to cry. I fight the tears that are welling up. He promised me.
"You're here." He says with a little raspy voice.
"Yeah.. Luke called me and said that I needed to come."
"Ohh.." He just says.
"Listen Sierra... I just wanted to explain what happened that night..."
"You don't need to. I saw enough." I say ice cold. I'm just getting mad every time I think about it.
"No, you don't understand, it's not like I wanted to kiss her... I just didn't have any control over my body, like everything was a big blur. But when I saw you, everything got clear again and I realized what I was doing. Later, I found out that she drugged me.."
"Ashton, I was almost the whole night with you. When should she have drugged you?"
"After I went to the bathroom, I got a drink pushed into my hands. I know it's stupid, but I just drank it... She must have put something in it. Sierra, you know that I would never lie that to you.."
I sigh. Now I'm the one who's regretting their mistakes.
"Ashton..."
"No, I know what you're gonna say but it's not your fault. I never should've drank that drink. It's my fault that I lost you. You had all rights to leave me." I don't know it for sure, but I think I just heard his voice break a little.
"But.."
"Sierra, stop."
I sigh again. I would expect him now to take my hand or something but he didn't.
I look at my lap. Should I leave?
"Maybe it's better when you get your rest." I say while I stand up.
"Sierra, I cut my wrists, I didn't have a car crash or something. It's not a big deal."
"Not a big deal?! Ashton, you almost took your own life!! That is a big deal!"
"Would that matter?"
"What?"
"If it worked. Than you would go on with your life. It's not like I'm important."
"Never. Say. That. Again. Do you hear me? You are important. Ashton, why did you do this to yourself?! You promised me.."
"You weren't here to check up on me anyways. Why would I care?"
"Because you need to stay alive!"
"For who?"
"For everyone Ashton! Your fans, band mates, family. All those people care about you!"
A tear drops down his cheek.
"Help me." He says softly.
"What?"
"Help me." He looks at me now.
"Please Sierra, help me."
"Ashton, I don't know if I can..." I stop when I see his eyes.
"I will." I say.
"Really?"
"But you need to promise me that you stay clean afterwards." I point my finger at him.
A smile cracks on his face.
"I will."
"Good, now maybe it's better if I go." I say awkwardly while I make my way to the door. Just when I'm about to open the door I hear him mumble something.
"Stay."
"What?" I turn back around.
"Stay with me."
"Ashton.. I can't.."
"Please?"
"But I need to finish the..." Again that look in his eyes.
Damn, those will get me killed someday. I sigh and walk back to him. I wanted to sit back in the chair but he grabs my hand and pulls me onto his bed.
"Ashton.."
"Don't say anything."
I sigh and lay myself next to him. He carefully lays an arm around me and I realize that I missed this. I wonder if he did...
Within a few minutes I can hear him sleep. I carefully get up, but get pushed back a second later because he just lays his other arm around me too. I sigh. I'm never getting out of his grip. I hear him mumble in his sleep and smile. I look at his face and almost laugh out loud. He looks cute...
Wait. No. We broke up. We're not a thing anymore.
Never thought that would hurt so much. My smile faded and I decide to close my eyes.
