SAM POV

---

I wake early the next morning, get ready for my day with Gemma, and head downstairs, passing Harry's door still hearing his obnoxious snoring.

"G'morning Sam." Gemma smiles. "Ready to start our day early? I've got so much planned!"
I smile. "Yes, please!"
"Good, first we are headed off to this amazing little coffee shop that I just adore."
I smile at Gemma listening to her rambling on about the day as I follow her to her car. We take in some delicious coffee and pastries before heading off into the city.
We visit some of her favorite shops and spots where she tells me of Harry's mischiefs, misfortunes, and ultimately why he chose the states for uni.

"So, one final stop. I thought we could get a mani!"
I look down at my broken and chipped nails. "Yeah, I could use one."
She smiles, nodding her head in excitement as we walk down a worn cemented sidewalk.

I decide to keep my real nails and go daring with a deep burgundy polish. Gemma stays posh with a nude color but opts to go long and daring.

"I couldn't function with those."
Gemma laughs. "I've had a lot of practice. Just recently is this style catching on in the states."
I nod, looking down at my now smooth hands. "Think I will just stay basic."
"You're fun, Sam. I had fun." Gemma cheeses."
I smile. "Thanks Gem, I had fun too."
"Stay?"
I nod. "Yes, I'll stay."
"Good! Because there is so much more to discover here across the pond!"

Gemma and I share more laughs as we fight through the chaotic London traffic home. We settle in for a light dinner with Anne before perching ourselves upon the couch with popcorn and a movie. Half way through the movie and we are out of popcorn causing me to stir into the kitchen. I grab a bag and pop it into the microwave. A long, fit arm scales above my head, pressing the popcorn button before I could even get the chance. I turn to see Harry standing behind me with a smirk.

"Uh, thanks."
"Uh, you're welcome." He mocks. "What movie ya watching?"
I shrug. "Something with Vin Diesel being a witch hunter."
He nods as the microwave alerts me that the popcorn is done. I take it from the microwave and dispose the made popcorn into a bowl.
"Well, back to the movie I go."
"Yep." He nods again and turns on his heels, walking away.

I sigh and head back into the living room quickly consumed with the movie once again. Gemma and I finish our second bowl of popcorn before the movie's end. We laugh at our ridiculous popcorn obsession and finish the movie just before midnight. We clean up our mess and head upstairs to end the night.

"Night Sam, see you the morning!" Gem waves, heading off to her room.
"Goodnight Gemma." I wave back, closing the door gently behind me.

I fold my clothes back into my suitcase as I simultaneously look for bed clothes. I opt for a large shirt and shorts and change quickly before settling into the window seat. The moon shines brightly from over head and a little part of me is wishing things between Harry and I didn't sour like they have.

"Everything ok?" Harry's voice speaks softly.
I startle at his arrival, nearly falling from the seat. "I didn't hear you come in?"
He laughs. "Well, it is my house and I know a trick or two about getting around quietly."
I shake my head. "I don't want to know."
"Not like that, you ass." He sasses.
I shrug. "You are not the person I thought I once knew."
He sighs. "Come on, Sam."
"No!" I shout.
He draws close, placing his hands on my forearms. "Easy."
"You've treated me like shit since the day we landed. Explain that crap!" I point into his chest. "It's not my fault!" He shouts back silently.
"How?"
"You knew, Sam. You knew." He shakes his head.
"Knew what Harry? Knew that you would ignore me and be up Blair's ass all trip or knew that you only invited me here out of pity!"
He drops his hands to his sides. "That's fucked up."
"No, that's truth."
"It's not the fucking truth!" He shouts now.
"You left me at the fucking bar!" I shout back.
"I was drunk! God dammit Sam, excuse me for being human."
I huff out a laugh. "How can you justify that?"
"I'm not trying too. But every time I try to --" He sighs, lowering his voice before running his hand over his face. "Every time I try to apologize and make sure you are ok, you push me away."
"How am I pushing you away?" I stress.
"What are you doing right now?" He counters.

I look at him, loss for words. He stands before me, hip hitched to the side with his hands perched just below his waist. A soft knock interrupts our stand off, producing Anne at the door.

"Is everything alright you two?" She asks softly. "I heard angry voices."
"We are fine, Mum. Just a little disagreement."
She nods, silently mouthing 'ok'. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Harry and I say in unison.

Harry sighs deeply, closing the door quietly. I pause looking at the crinkles in his face as he frowns. He looks tired and I'm feeling guilty for keeping him.

"I'm sorry, ok? I'm sorry for being a shit friend." He confesses. "I'm sorry for being a dick, and I'm sorry for utterly failing you."
"What?" I trail.
"I failed when you needed me the most. I took advantage of the fact that you were vulnerable. I shouldn't have done that."
"But I wanted it too." I quickly retort.
"I know, but I should have told you no."

A ping of hurt rushes through me as I step back. I close my eyes tight to prevent tears, subtly taking a deep breath.

"I guess what I'm trying to say Sam.." He sighs deeply. "Is that, I'm sorry I led you on."
"I--" I crack. "I--there's uh..no need to apologize."
"But I am."
I put my hand up. "It's over." I shuffle towards the bed, pulling back the covers.

"So, are we ok now?"
"Is Blair going to stop acting like a possessive bitch?"
"I can't answer for her." He huffs.
"That's a 'no'. But yeah, we are ok." I reply, laying down in the bed.
Harry walks to the side of the bed, pulling the covers up over me. He leans down and places a kiss upon my head.
"Goodnight Sam."
"Yeah, goodnight H."
