Holmes Sweet, Holmes (Chapel)

HARRY

The landing, luggage, and Addison Lee drive home is all a blur as I crash down onto my Mum's couch.

"You have such a lovely house, Anne." Blair compliments.
"Thank you, Blair. Please make yourself at home." My Mum smiles. "Harry-" She directs. "I'm going to take these aspirins up to Sam."
"I got it, Mum." I return, hopping up. "Be right back."

I take the pills from my Mom and two step it up the stairs. I knock on the door gently, opening it to find Sam sprawled out on the bed.

"Hey little lady."
She laughs. "Little lady?"
"Yeah, well it was the first thing to mind." I shrug. "Here, my Mum insisted." I inform, handing her the pills.
"Awww, well tell her thank you. It's just traveler's sickness. I'm sure it will pass."
"I hope, for your sake." I smile. "I'll be downstairs if you need anything."
"Thanks H."
I go to leave but turn back, leaning down kissing Sam atop of her head.

"Go H." She sighs with a smile. "I'm ok."
"Just making sure." I quip before heading out the door.

I didn't know if my small gestures made it worse or if it made it better that she knew I was there for her. Either way, Blair and my Mum were hitting it off and I was feeling a bit scared about the whole thing.

"How's she feeling?" My Mum asks.
"She's ok. I think she is should ok by supper." I report.
"Good, I'm glad. Oh and Harry, Louis has been asking about you, maybe you can give him a call later?"
"Louie! Of course."

Louis was my best childhood friend. We did absolutely everything together. I didn't know he still wanted anything to do with me after I left for America for uni. The last week was horrible, we fought and I knew our friendship had been tarnished for good.

Creaking of the stairs alerts us of Sam's presence. I nod her my way, presenting her a spot on the couch. She takes it gingerly, eyeing Blair.
"You up for going out tonight?" I ask her.
"I don't know." She sighs.
"Oh, come on."
She shrugs. "We'll see."
I nod my head as Blair makes her way into my lap. Sam handles it well for awhile before getting up and joining my Mum in the kitchen.

I call up Louis and make plans to meet him at a club not too far from Holmes Chapel. He seems super stoked on the phone leaving me pretty exciting he has let go of his saltiness. We all eat dinner with my Mum before I tell the girls to go spruce up. It didn't matter if they said 10 minutes, it took longer and I didn't feel like waiting much.

"Go a little easier on Sam, Harry." My Mum concerns.
"What? She's fine."
She shrugs. "She seems a bit fragile right now."
"Could just be the jet lag but I'll keep an eye on her." I promise.

Moments later and the girls appear ready for the night out. I borrow my Mum's car and head out towards the city. After fighting to park, we finally make it into the club as I scan the crowd for Louis. I spot him by the bar chatting it up with a couple locals. I grab Blair's hand and lead her over to Louis.

"Holy shit! Harry!" Louis psychs.
"Louis, it's been awhile mate."
"No kidding!" He laughs. "You look well."
"Thanks, you too."
"Was a bit afraid you'd come home from America with that attitude."
I shake my head. "I don't forget where I'm from."
He nods. "Well I'm stoked. And who have you got here?"
"Louis, this is my girlfriend Blair and our friend Sam."
"Well, it's nice to meet both of you ladies. Not sure why you put up with this bloat."
Blair laughs. "He's a charmer."
"Of course he is." Louis mocks. "And Sam, are you crazy to be his friend?" He continues to joke.
"I must be." She laughs lightly.

Ouch.

"Alright, that's enough. Weren't you just about to buy us drink eh Louis?"
"Sure will." He cheeses.

Louis buys us a round of drinks before filling me in on everything that has happened around here. He tells me how he is living in Doncaster now but still spends plenty of time around the chapel. I buy the next round of drinks as Sam excuses herself to the bathroom.

"Go with her." I nudge Blair.
"Why? She's fine." Blair barks back.
I sigh, watching Sam fight through the crowd of drunk people.

10-15 minutes pass before I force Blair to go check on her.
"She's dancing with some guy." She informs.
"What?"
"Right over there, check for yourself." She points.

I glance over finding Sam dancing with a random stranger on the dance floor. I debate in my head to go but decide against it.

"She's alright, Styles." Louis chimes in. "I've got my eye on her." I nod, letting go of the stress.

Hours later and I'm pretty well plastered.
Oh my Mum is not going to be happy about this.
I get close to Blair, kissing up and down her neck. "Let's go home." She whispers. "I can drive ."
"Yes, let's go." I slur, taking her hand.

I don't think twice, say goodbye to Louis, and head out the door. Blair gets us back home in one piece as I carry up to my bedroom.

"Clothes off. Now." I demand taking off my shirt.
Blair listens to my command, stripping naked before climbing into bed. I toss my keys and phone onto the nightstand before crawling up upon Blair. My phone begins to ring driving me angry. I groan and fall off of Blair to see who is blowing up my phone.

Sam.
Why the fuck was she calling me from the states?

I turn my phone off and turn my attention back to Blair. My mind and body is taken over by indescribable pleasure -- and that's the last thing I remember before waking up.

I head downstairs and greet my Mum who is making breakfast in the kitchen.
"Gather the girls, I've made breakfast."
I grab a muffin before giving her a kiss. "Be back."

I head upstairs and walk quietly to Sam's room. I knock on the door and receive no response. I open it slowly and see that Sam is not in the room and the bed is made.
"What the fuck?" I whisper to myself.
I try to think back to last night and all I can remember is drinking way too much and having sex with Blair. I head into my room finding Blair dressing herself.

"Hey, uh do you know where Sam is?" I ask.
"No." She responds, shocked. "She was here last night."
"Are you sure?" I pinch the bridge of my nose.
"I -- think so?"
"Fuck."
"Oh relax H. Maybe she went home with that guy she was dancing with." She sasses.
"No!" I groan. "This is not ok."

I rush out of the room and down the stairs. I hear Louis's voice and am panicking.
"Louis, did you--" I pause seeing Sam standing behind him.
She keeps her eyes low as she walks past me and up the stairs. My Mum looks at me with a scorn. I try to speak but she holds her hand up.

"What did I tell you before you left?"
"Uh, Anne. It's all my fault. I fed him a few too many drinks." Louis steps in.
"Louis, do not take the blame for his irresponsibility! Had you not been there, who knows what would have happened to Sam!"
"I'm sorry." I crack.
"Don't apologize to me." She points. "Apologize to the shaken girl upstairs."

I nod and walk up the steps, I stand outside her door hearing her sobs. If there was ever a time where I felt low. It was now, and I was rock bottom.
