Harry POV:

I reach Emerson’s front door and barge right in. I make my way upstairs to her room, but she’s not there. I hear a sob come from the hallway so I go down to the only door that is closed.

“Em, love? Are you alright?” I say knocking lightly

She doesn’t answer me so I push the door open gently. Emerson is sitting on the bathroom floor with an open bottle of pills on the floor beside her. I grab the bottle and look it over… Xanex great.

“Emerson how many did you take?” I shout worried

She looks away putting her head in her hands.

“Emerson” I say grabbing her face and pulling it towards me.

I look into her green, red rimmed eyes and ask again.

“How many Em?”

“I don’t… don’t know 10” she says her voice catching

“Jesus Christ what were you thinking, c’mon you’re going to the hospital” I say helping her up

I do my best to keep her awake on the drive to the E.R.

“Em lookit me, you need to stay awake love… please tell me why you would take that many?” I plea

“No one cares, no one loves me” she whispers slowly

“What, are you crazy! There are plenty of people who care and love you” I tell her

She stays quiet nodding off again.

“Hey” I snap my fingers at her

“I care about you doesn’t that mean something” I ask her

“you don’t know me, how could you possibly care that much?” she whispers again

“Because I just do Emerson”

By this time we have reached the emergency room. I get Emerson inside and explain what had happened. I told them what Louis did to her and what she had done to herself. While the nurses hurried her back I went to the waiting room and called Niall.

“Hey mates what’s up?” he answered

“You and Tessa need to come to the hospital now it’s Emerson” I say and hang up

Ten minutes later Tessa and Niall come through the doors.

“What is going on?” Tessa cries

“Well Louis um assaulted her and then she… she took some pills” I say holding down the lump in my throat.

“Oh my god, the Xanex” Tessa sighs

“Yea, how’d you know?” I ask her

“Ever since her parents have been gone more and Lou broke up with her she’s been taking more and more.” She tells me

“Mr. Styles” a nurse calls

I get up and go to the door he is standing in.

“Yes that’s me”

“Hi we just have a quick question. Do you know how to reach Emerson Hering’s parents?”

“Um no I don’t. her dad left right before Lou beat her up. why?”

“Well she is still a minor and we need her parents to sign some papers” he tells me

“Oh, well I don’t know. I have no clue where they have gone. I can have my mum come up if you’d like” I offer

After arguing back and forth with him for a few moments they finally agreed to let me get my mum up so she can sign the papers for her. When she gets here the doctor lets us go in to see her.

“Oh Em, love what’d you do”

She’s hooked up to all sorts of IV’s and machines. I see that they have gotten her lip fixed up. I also notice the whole right side of her face is swollen and purple, but she still looks beautiful.

“Alright Harry are you ready to go home?” mum asks after ten minutes

“What about Em?” I ask

“She will be staying here for a few days love, she’ll be alright”

“um ok hang on a second and I’ll be right out” I tell her

When she leaves the room to go get the car I tell Niall and Tessa that they can go on ahead too. I wait for them to leave before going over to Emerson and taking her hands in mine. I kiss her cheek and run my fingers through her long hair. I caress her face with my thumb outlining her lips.

“I care Emerson… I more than care, I think I love you, actually no I am in love with you” I tell her before kissing her cheek one more time before walking out of the room.
