Reminiscing Memories

My Heart, Your Heart

*Niall's POV*
My leg couldn’t seem to take a chill pill considering I’ve been bouncing my knee for the past half an hour. I was worried, yes, but also a bit upset. I haven’t talked to Pandora in a few days, which was unusual for us. Not even a text has been exchanged. I assumed she was busy, I could relate to this, so I didn’t want to bother her.

But still, I wanted to know. Was she okay? Is she safe? Nobody has been giving her any bullshit, right? I tried to put my mind into a more positive approach, but my worry was overriding the happiness I felt when I usually think of her. I flipped my phone between my fingers, waiting for the familiar ringtone I set for her to go off. My eyes traveled to the boys trying to relax on the uncomfortable airport seats, waiting for our planes to be called to head back to America.

Louis and Zayn were on their phones, talking to their girlfriends, trying to get one last word in before the long plane ride back to our next concert date. Liam was on the phone too, with Hazel obviously, and even if those two weren’t dating, it took all I had not to scream at him to give her a shot. Those two were perfect, and I’ve never seen a girl make a man so happy. Liam has never been this happy, well, maybe a little upset now that he had to leave Hazel alone for a month.

“Well, be sure to call me if you need anything…” He slowly said into the phone next to me.

An elbow dove into my bicep. I looked over at Harry, the only other lad besides myself not on the phone. “Crazy, huh?” He whispered into my ear. I gave him a questioning look. He offered a small smile. “They’re speaking to the one’s they truly love before boarding a plane as if it would be the last time they spoke to each other.”

He saying that made my heart ache. Pandora came to mind and I forced the lump to go down on my throat. A hand patted my shoulder, “Stop making that face, mate. I was kidding.”

Harry went back to relaxing in his seat, but I couldn’t help it. The thought was there now, so it won’t go away. I’ve never been afraid of planes crashing before, at least not since the first time I’ve flown, but what if this would be the last time I would be here? The only words I’d live by from our last conversation with Pandora would be about cheeseburgers! How pointless was that?

I rubbed my face. I was being too paranoid.

“Mate?” I barely listened to Harry beside me. “Mate!” He shoved my shoulder.

“What?” I asked.

“Your phone.”

I blinked, looking at my phone. When did I put it on silent? Was my first thought, but I flipped out, almost dropping the phone from my hands when I saw her name across the screen.

“Pan?” I was breathless and dying to hear her voice.

“Niallers! So sorry I haven’t called lately, but I have some big news I need to tell you…”

I listened to her, though I never said a word. Her voice, I couldn’t get enough of it. I never realized how bad I was missing her until she was almost done. We were talking about normal, only about her recent contract with Sony Entertainment. I was happy for her. I was excited to tell the boys, but I wanted to cherish every word she was saying and my own.

I made sure not to talk about food, nothing about food at all. This was different. Why was I so set on keeping this conversation to heart? I told her to be careful. California was a different world compared to where she came from. I told myself, I’d see her in a month. Though Liam had a little longer to wait, I’d be waiting longer to see the girl I knew I held close to my heart.

What are you going to do when she debuts? She’ll become popular, meaning she’ll start making more friends.
I wiped Zayn’s words from my mind. Pandora knew who her real friend’s world. People who cared for her before and after she becomes a star. Her heart surely won’t falter for anyone…

The pain was back in my chest, leaving me unusually quiet.

“Niall?” Pandora asked.

I blinked. “Sorry, guess I’m just sort of missing you. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.”

I heard a soft sigh, almost like a laugh. “Yeah. I miss all of you too. Especially you, Niall. Even compared to Harry and Hazel, you’re the closest friend I’ve got.”

Flight 1576, gate 34…” The announcement for our plane was set.

“Thanks, Pandora. I have to go, it’s time we get on our plane.” I told her.

“Alright! Call me when you get the chance!”

She was quick to hang up and my heart was quick to pace. I felt myself smile to the phone. “Come on, mate.” Harry whispered to me. “People are giving you weird looks.”

Even still, Harry was smiling at me. Why? I wasn’t sure. It was genuine smile, like he was either proud or happy. Who knew what Harry was thinking half the time?
I didn’t really care at the moment. I was glowing, simply because I got to speak to the girl I knew I loved.

Pandora…

I couldn’t wait to see her again.

Notes

It's been three months before I touched this story. I AM SO SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO UPDATE. I'm going to do my best to stay on top of this. This is actually one of my favorite fan-fictions that I'm writing.

Either way, next chapter is definitely in Hazel's POV, Niall just needed a small conclusion to his lack of communication with Pandora.

Harry, that sneaky bastard, what does he have in mind?

I wonder how Liam and Hazel will turn out?

Oh, yeah, you noticed the new character I listed? He's going to show up in the next chapter too!
