Reminiscing Memories

Are You Sure?

*Hazel’s POV*

I froze upon getting close to Liam’s bedroom. “Liam, chill out. She’s just a friend. Jeez.” I looked at the light coming out of the room a little confused. That was definitely Liam talking, but why was he talking to himself.

“You’re not making this easy for yourself, mate.”

Huh? I leaned up against the wall. What… I scratched my head. I wondered who he was talking about. I started toward the door again, ready to ask him a question I originally came here for, but stopped once I heard him speaking again. “Mum…”

I felt a pang in my chest. I swallowed, closing my eyes some. Nevermind. I wouldn’t ask. It wasn’t that important anyways. I was going to ask if the other boys made it out okay, but I decided I would wait before I’d ask. I stepped away from the door, turning around to start walking back downstairs.

I could feel my heart pound against my chest as I got off the bottom step and to the first floor. Why was I so desperate to get away? I felt myself sink down where I was sitting on the bottom step. I was being irrational with myself. I know Liam has his own mother, so there should be no reason to get so emotional about it. I folded my arms around my knees, resting my cheek on the top of them. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath, trying to calm my heart.

I sat up after a few minutes passed. My heart was calm now and I had a hold of my emotions. “Yeah, I know. I’ll make sure nothing happens to her… Okay, okay, I’ll tell her. You don’t have to worry so much…” I heard Liam say as he was walking toward the stairs.

I could feel him coming down the stairs and I turned around, seeing him putting his phone in his pocket. He came down to the last step, taking a seat right next to me. Somehow we seemed to fill up the staircase. Our arms and legs were touching, heat radiating off of each other. The physical touch was warming me up considering the house was still slightly cold. “I… was talking to my mum.” Liam explained.

I nodded, understanding. He acted as if he was going to say something else, but I spoke before he did. “How is she?”

We’ve never really talked about anything that was personal to him, but I was honestly curious. He seems to know so much about myself, yet I knew little of himself. Sure, during my fangirl days, I was just like any other direction, looking up whatever I can about him, but that was nothing compared to being here with him. I got to see his life while he was on the road and with his bandmates. I knew nothing about what he was like by himself in his own home, with his own family. That was personal. That was one thing that so few people got to see. I just hoped I could be one of the few that could see.

He smiled at my question. “She’s great actually. She was worried for a few days since I wasn’t answering any of her calls, but…” His eyes fell to the ground. “I told her what happened. She’s already known about you for a while now. Before I called, she was worried sick about me…” he looked over at me again, smiling a little. “Now she’s worried about you.”

I didn’t know his mother. I’ve never spoken nor seen her, but hearing this, something warm spread through my heart. I almost wanted to cry again. “She really likes you. I don’t know why, I mean, she’s never met you.” He sighed. “She wants to though. She told me as soon as I come home to bring you along.” He started chuckling some. “I can already see her trying to embarrass the shit out of me. I told her I’d ask, but it was up to you.”

“I’ll go.” I said without hesitation.

He blinked, surprised I answered so quickly. “You sure?”

I nodded. “I’d like to meet your mother… and family.”

He reached up, his hand gently reaching around and resting on the side of my head. He pulled me toward him, giving me a hug. “I was being serious when I asked. I know you’re still in mourning. Are you honestly sure you want to meet my family with everything that’s going on right now?”

I could feel him lightly touching my hair, as if playing with it. I swallowed. I let myself relax against his shoulder some. “Yeah. I’ll be fine. You don’t have to worry about me, Liam.” I felt a small smile tug on my lips.

He didn’t say anything. We stayed like that for a moment before I heard the front door knock. “Pizza must be here.”

I pulled away and he stood up, reaching into his back pocket for his wallet as he walked over to the front door. I stood up, watching as he opened it and paid the delivery girl with his money. They spoke for a brief moment. I noticed the girl was a fan. She was even asking for an autograph. I saw her smiling before her eyes locked in with mine. Her smile fell before Liam got her attention again. She offered a small nod before stepping back down. He shut the door, holding two boxes of pizza.

“Who’s up for a movie?” He asked, grinning some.

I smiled, a little excited. “What should we watch?”

“Something funny?” He offered.

I nodded. I followed him into his living room, where he sat the boxes of pizza down and walked over to a cabinet full of DVDs. I opened one of the pizza boxes, smelling hot pepperoni fill my nose. I grabbed a slice, eating it as I joined him at the cabinet. “You got a lot of movies.” I noted, looking over each of the titles.

He smiled over at me, seeing how I was eating already. “Why don’t you pick? I’ll get us something to drink.”

He stood up, leaving me alone in the living room as I looked through the movies. I found a whole lot of movies with potential, I just wasn’t sure what to pick. I pulled out one, something that looked fairly like a new release, but I’ve never seen before.

“Hansel and Gretel?” I heard Liam ask behind me. I turned my head, seeing him hold out a water. “I don’t have much else. I wasn’t really planning on stocking up until the tour was over.”

I smiled as I took the bottle from his hand. “Thanks.”

He took the DVD from my hand. “It’s a good movie. Have you ever seen it?”

I shook my head as I stood up. He laughed a little. “Well, be warned. There’s a naked bum.”
I felt myself snort some. Not because of the mere image of it, but of hearing Liam’s word choices. I’ve been around him for a small while, and I still couldn’t get used to British diction.
We took a seat on his couch. “Ah… goodness, feels good to relax for once.” Liam murmured as he stuck a slice of pizza in his mouth, chewing.

I knew the last time we’ve watched a movie together, the night didn’t end too well, but now, we had nothing to worry about. It was just me and him, eating pizza and watching a movie about nutty witches.

Couldn’t get any better than this.

Notes

Sorry peeps, this chapter is more of a filler than anything. I'm not really happy with it but by the next chapter I promise better stuff is going to happen. I'm trying to work more between Liam's and Hazel's feelings, but not very easy. Gosh, so difficult. Well thanks for reading!
