What A Feeling

As soon as she arrives home, Becca sends Niall both job offers. She adds: “Let’s talk about this tomorrow. I love you, B.” Closing her laptop, she still has no idea how she will be able to make this decision. One moment she just knows she can’t pass up this offer, the next she can’t imagine leaving Niall. Blowing out a strained breath, she makes her way to her bedroom. Might as well get comfortable for girl’s night.

“Mimosas or beer?” Kara asks.
Becca grins. “Let’s be classy, mimosas.”
Kara laughs. “That’s us; two classy American chicks in England.”
“What’s for dinner?”
“Keeping with the classy theme, I’m making frozen pizza.” Kara smirks.
Becca laughs. “We are so not classy.”

Moving into the living room, Becca asks. “What movie should we watch?”
“I don’t know, as long as it’s not Moneyball again.” Kara rolls her eyes.
“Oh come on, that is a great movie.”
“Becca, you’ve made me watch it like fifty times.” Shaking her head. “Thank goodness you have Niall to watch it with now.”
Becca looks down, frowning.
“I’m sorry, Sweetie. I’ll watch Moneyball again if you want.”
Becca laughs. “No, let’s watch one of your romances. Maybe it will help me with my decision.”
Kara lights up. “Like maybe one of the characters will have the same problem?”
Becca grins. “No, like I’ll be so bored, I’ll have time to think.”
This time it was Becca who didn’t see the pillow coming.

“So, did the movie help you any with your decision?” Kara asks.
“Not really. I mean the movie was good, I just can’t fathom having to make this choice.”
“I know it’s hard, Sweetie.”
Becca shakes her head. “You know, this decision would have been a lot easier about six months ago. I guess that was why I never let anyone in before, I just focused on the job only.”
Kara smiles. “Would you really change things? Not have allowed Niall in?”
Becca’s eyes sparkle with the hint of tears. “No, I wouldn’t change a thing. I love Niall and my life is so much better with him in it.”
“Let me freshen our drinks, I have a feeling we are gonna need them.”
Becca yells to Kara in the kitchen. “Sorry, I’m kind of ruining girl’s night.”
She returns with the drinks. “No you’re not, Becca. You have tomorrow off, correct? Let’s stay up tonight and figure this out.”
“You know, Kara, you’re another reason that my choice is so hard. You are the best
friend I’ve ever had.”
Kara smiles. “You mean the most annoying friend you’ve ever had.”
Becca smirks. “Well, yeah, that too.”

“What are ya looking at, Niall?” Willie asks.
“Becca’s job offers.”
“Oh, that's right. How are they?”
Niall shakes his head. “The offer from California is quite impressive. Unfortunately, Sky Sport’s counter offer doesn’t really come close.”
“Is it just money?”
“No, there are other perks and more freedom in what sporting events she can cover.”
“Has she made a choice yet?”
“If she has, she hasn’t told me.” Niall frowns.
“What if she asks your opinion? What will you tell her?”
Niall takes a deep breath. “I’m not sure. The selfish part of me wants to tell her to stay right here. I have enough money for both of us.” He throws his head back in frustration, looking up at the ceiling. “But, I know it’s not about the money for her. In America, she can cover all the sports she grew up loving. I mean can you imagine if someone took football from you? You’d resent them, wouldn’t ya?”
Willie sighs. “I wouldn’t be happy, no.”
“I don’t want B to resent me if I ask her to stay here.”
“Maybe you have to be selfless. Let her go, so she can do what she truly loves.”
“But what if she...is what I truly love?”
