Life After Role Play
Chapter 23
The show was over as quick as it started, and all of the boys were buzzing.
Sophie had been sound asleep on my shoulder the entire concert. I held her, watching most of the show from backstage, but my legs started to get tired so I went back into the boys dressing room to sit on the couch.
Harry and the boys came in a few minutes later, laughing, and talking about some of the ridiculous stuff they had done on stage.
“Hey Aud” Harry said, sitting next to me.
He was sweaty, and giggly, and it made me happy.
“I think Soph and I might head back to the hotel. She’s been out for a while, I should probably get her in bed. We have an early flight to North Carolina tomorrow!” I said,
Harry curled himself into my side, nuzzling his face into my neck. He left a few kisses before pecking Sophie.
“Let me say goodbye to a few people and then I will head back with you guys. I will get security to escort you to the SUV” he said, before standing up to go say his goodbyes.
I lifted a sleepy Sophie up on my hip, her curling her head back into my neck before walking over to say goodbye to Lou.
I kissed her cheek and said goodbye to a few more of the people who kept my husband in check, before following a security guard out to the black SUV that would take us back to the hotel.
Much to my surprise, Harry was already in the SUV, tapping on his phone.
I didn’t see a carseat for Sophie, so I decided to hold her in my arms, knowing it would be a quick drive.
Once we made it back to the hotel, I noticed the noise of the One Direction fans chanting the boys’ names.
“The noise should die down in the next hour” Harry said, reading my mind.
We made it up to our hotel room, Harry heading straight for the shower. His assistant had stopped by to drop off all of his clothes.
I saw a text from Caroline earlier, saying that the twins were asleep and that she was headed to bed. Since we had a suite, there were three rooms. A kid room, a room for Caroline, and a room for Harry and I.
I walked into the room with my two sleeping babies, and quickly and quietly undressed Sophie. I kept her in her underwear before taking her bun out of her hair and letting her brown curls fall a little below her shoulders.
I lifted her back up before settling her down in the bed. I kissed the top of her head before pulling the covers over her little body.
I checked on Gracie and Henry, both in their separate pack n plays, and made sure all of my kids were tucked in safely.
I made it back to our room, to find Harry getting out of the shower.
I was ready to get North Carolina, where it would be sunny and 65 in the day and colder at night.
I watched as my cute husband curled up in, and patted the spot next to him. I quickly changed into pajamas and snuggled up.
I closed my eyes, inhaling his heavenly scent.
“Night Aud, I love you” he mumbled,
“Love you too” I said back, and fell asleep quickly.
