These people see me and they just start running towards their departments or their fax machine, as if they are doing something. Idiots, I’m not a dumbass. But whatever, they stay downstairs and handle what they supposed to and they don’t bother me, so that makes me somewhat happy.
“Yeah, thanks again. Sorry for such short notice.’’ I say into the phone, hoping my baby girl is okay at home without her Mommy or Daddy there.
“No problem, Harry.’’ Louise says, I can hear the kind smile in her voice. I thank God for this woman because she’s such a good person, she would come to the house at 3 in the morning I needed her to watch Katie. She’s a blessing to have.
“How is she? Not too fussy I hope.’’ I sigh as I begin to miss my little angel. I didn’t get to see her much this morning, I was in some sort of a rush after previous events occurred in my bedroom.
“She’s fine, don’t worry too much.’’ She laughs a little at my constant checking in, this was the third time I’ve called her in two hours. What can I say? I just want to make sure my baby’s okay.
“Alright, I’ll let you go. I gotta call and check on Emmy.’’ I smile to myself, knowing she’ll like that reply.
“Not a surprise! I’ll call you after her nap’s over later on.’’ Louise says.
We exchange our goodbyes before hanging up. Sometimes I just wish I didn’t have a job so I could stay at home and be with Katie, but unfortunately that can’t happen. Granted, though, she gets to come up here sometimes with Emmy – but today Emmy isn’t with her so yeah. Speaking of Emmy, I really do need to call in and check on her, I haven’t all day and it’s beginning to agitate me.
I dial her number and press call, the dial tone was loud in my ear as I awaited her answer. Hopefully she has found her some stuff today, recently she’s been a little more comfortable with spending my money, I don’t mind though so it doesn’t even bother me.
“Hello?’’ I hear, a happy tone to her voice.
“Hey, beautiful.’’ I say into the phone, staring at the papers on my desk.
“Hey.’’ She says, I just know she’s blushing. She’s so damn adorable, I used to be against saying the word cute in my head but now I don’t even mind.
“How are you doing?’’ I ask, curious to know what she’s up too for the past three hours. I get to see her at two, that’s all that I’m looking forward to right now.
“Fine, we just got to Victoria’s Secret.’’ She informs me.
“Mmm, gonna find something cute for me to rip off your body?’’ I tease into phone, knowing she’s thinking the same thing I am.
“Maybe, maybe not. I do enjoy wearing clothes sometimes, Harry.’’ She sighs, but I could hear the smile so I don’t worry about her feeling a little upset.
“I’ll see you soon.’’ The words were painful, but yet hopeful as they left my mouth in a huff.
“See you soon. I love you, Harry.’’ Emmy replies, her voice beautiful as he invades my ear.
“I love you too, baby.’’ I respond to her, glad to hear her say those words to me.
“Bye.’’ She mumbles into the phone as if she was about to get in trouble for being too loud.
“Wait!’’ I shout accidentally, I just didn’t want to lose her just yet.
“What? Are you okay?!’’ She asks, her voice in shock at my sudden yell.
“No, I’m fine. I mean.. Yeah I’m okay. Just.. I forgot to tell you that I called Louise.. Checked on your little baby.’’I notify her of my previous phone conversation.
“Harry, I know I called too. Bye.’’ Emmy concluded our phone call with those words and a press of her finger against the end button.
I sigh as I lock my phone, sitting it on my desk. I’m really tired, and right now I just wanted some of my girl. Well, more than some – a whole lot of her.
