Chapter 67

I sauntered around the little shop with Sophia, Brynn and Perrie. Sophia thought it would be nice to ask Perrie to join us because I liked her so much. In turn the boys asked Zayn to watch whatever football game was on with them.
"Soooo," Sophia began quietly. I giggled and kept my eyes on the racks of clothes. "What's the status on you and Harry? I mean, he did bring that other girl to Gemma's wedding yesterday." Sophia inquired of me.
I sighed and smiled, "Sophia, when have I ever given a status update on Harry and I?"
She frowned, "Never."
I gave a single nod, "Exactly. I am not going to start now." All three girls appeared sad. "I won't lie and say that Harry and I didn't argue about Aubrey because we did. But it didn't effect the way Harry and I are. He's not dating her and he isn't interested in her that way."
"So you don't think that he went there with her?" Brynn inquired.
"Whatever Harry did is not my business." I replied quietly.
"It doesn't bother you in the slightest that they hang out?" Perrie inquired.
I laughed loudly, "Of course it bothers me. I'm open minded not a saint." The girls giggled quietly. "I trust Harry. Anything he needs to do, he can do. I won't be mad at him." I told them what I had told Harry months ago. It definitely didn't apply anymore. Harry was mine. I was his. We were in a committed relationship and had a child. There was only one woman he could be sleeping with...me. I smirked as I walked over to the lingerie section of the small shop. I pulled out my phone and dialed Harry.
He answered dully, "Hello?"
"Hey, what would you say your favorite color is right now?" I asked quietly.
I could hear the confusion in his voice as he replied, "Uh...lavender, I guess."
I smirked, "Okay." I hung up quickly then shoved my phone back into my pocket. I looked back to see Perrie, Brynn staring at me oddly. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked quietly. They all shook their heads and kept quiet.
Sophia tapped the table impatiently as we waited for our food. It was lunch and I already received a text message from Harry stating his meals weren't being served as he wished. The text made me smile and I sent back: Don't worry. I've gotten your dessert for after dinner. I looked up at Sophia. She seemed really worried.
"Sophia, is there something that you would like to discuss, honey?" I asked leaning a closer to her.
She sighed heavily, "Liam and I have been married for over a year now. I love him. He loves me and this morning when we got up I tried to have a serious talk with him about something but he wouldn't hear it."
"About what Soph?" Perrie was as confused as Brynn and I.
"I wanna have a baby. I wanna start a family." Sophia replied quietly. I frowned deeply and touched her hand gently. "I don't know why he doesn't want to." Sophia sighed resting her head on her fist.
"E, do you have any input?" Brynn inquired with a lifted brow.
I giggled, "Harry and I aren't normal. Its not like we talked about it then tried to have Darcy. Me getting pregnant just kind of happened. I mean, we did talk about her, but not like planning to have her. Harry and I are weird anyway." I sighed, "I'm sorry but I don't know what else to say other than tell him why you want to have a baby. Let him tell you why he doesn't. You might find out that you want the same thing in the end."
Sophia chuckled, "I know that you and Harry are strange." I smiled weakly. "I see you and Harry with Darcy and I want that. I want to have all of the fun in the world making a child. I want to carry them inside me, have Liam rub my stomach when they kick. Hear a little voice screaming mummy at two am and little feet chasing after my husband. Teddy bears and dolls all over our home." Sophia brightened as she spoke of the things she wished for.
"Soph, I hate to be that friend but, "I paused for a minute as her eyes saddened again. "Those things are amazing. I love all of that: watching Harry and Darcy take naps together and the way she squeals and giggles when Harry chases her around the house. How she crawls up in bed with me when Harry isn't home to make her feel safe. But being a parent is hard. I have to make sure she has everything all the time. I always have to keep an eye on her. There are times when she starts acting up and giving me sass. I get stressed out and frustrated. It's harder when Harry just wants to let her run rampant because he doesn't want to see her cry or mope or he's just not there. I don't have time for myself and it's even more rare to get a moment alone when Harry isn't home. And even when she's not with me, she's all that I can think about. I worry constantly. There have been a few nights when Harry and I have gone out to dinner without Darcy but he takes my phone because I won't stop checking it or texting whomever is watching her." Sophia listened to me intently. She wanted to soak up every little bit that I was telling her. "Being a mother is the greatest thing I have ever done with my life. Harry will say that being a father is the best part of his life but you can't just...You have to be ready for it all, good and bad. There are days when you'll be at your wits end then you'll get and I love you or a hug that makes you forget why you were mad at them. Then there will be days when you're at your wits end and all you can do is make them take a nap." Sophia nodded. "There are pros and cons of becoming a mother. The pros far out weigh the cons but the cons will bring you to your knees some days. And that's not even counting all the shit you go through being pregnant." I explained to her.
Brynn giggled, "I think that you just gave your speech on how to fix the problem."
I blushed, "That's what my life is like. It may be completely different for you. And I by no means have it all figured out. Everyday is a new learning experience for both Harry and I. You learn as you go. And there's always people to lean on. I have my parents and Harry's parents. All of you help me out when you can. If you and Liam decided you want to have a child I will help you as much as I can but it's a decision you have to make together. I got lucky with Harry being as good of a man as he is. To step up the way he did, even when he had his blinders on."
Perrie smiled, "He thinks you hung the moon and blew the stars into the sky from glitter in your hand." I turned pink again. Perrie turned her eyes to Sophia, "I agree with Enola. Just let him know that you want it all and maybe he'll tell you why he's apprehensive." Sophia nodded and agreed to attempt a rational discussion with her husband.
