ALWAYS

ALWAYS Q&A Answers

YAY! WE DID IT! All of you had really great questions! Some of them really made me think and some of them even made me giggle a bit.

1) From the beginning, did you always have the intention of Darcy being Harry's daughter and not Charles's? No. Absolutely not. I struggled with the idea for a while. I made the decision like an hour before I wrote and posted the chapter.

2) What inspired you the most to characterise Enola? Lots of things. She's a little bit of myself, she's a little bit of a song, she's a little bit of Jim Morrison( reoccurring thing with me), she's part a girl that I think Harold would end up with, she's my favorite painting and part of my favorite artist. So I gathered her from a lot of things and made her human. :)

3) Why do you feel like Enola's perfect wedding day should be taken away from her? I don't think that it should be taken from her. I just...I am evil and I like to fuck with my characters. All of this fluffy is driving me crazy. And I have had the end of this story planned for the last year. Even before I finished Fool's Gold. I don't think it should but...I don't know maybe its a subconscious thing.

4) What is the one thing that inspires you most to write? Everything really. I do take a lot from music and there are a few writers that I love. It just depends on the day what is going to send me into a frenzy of writing. :)

5) Did you know any Fine Arts artistS or use any artists to reference Enola Moon's personality to? If not who did you use to preference her personality to? Well, most of my life I've grown up with musicians and artists, that's just who my "family" is. Um, she's a little bit of few people I am really close to with like her crazy and stuff but really she's a lot of artist and poets that I've read/seen their work because I am a book worm for sure and reading is all I do. So I kind of based a bit of her on Salvador Dali (because he's my all time absolute favorite). But she's been created from a lot of things (including myself).

6) What inspired you to write Fool's Gold? It was a stupid bet between my best friend and I. was complaining about a certian fan fiction that got a fucking book deal and shouldn't have because it was garbage. And she said, "I bet you can't do better." So I did better...lol. I also got a cookie out of that bet. :)

7) What has been your favourite part of writing the story of Enola and Harry? You guys! I've met so many fucking awesome people and had so many wicked conversations. I've made a lot of friends through this! And the reactions you all have to things makes me laugh. Not in a mean way...well kind of, because I love the way all of my readers react to unexepected bad things. It's amazing.

8) What is your favorite/least favorite part of the writing process (like finding inspiriation, brainstorming, actually writing, editing, etc.)? I love finding inspiration. I do a lot of reading, watching movies, listening to music. I find a majortity of new music that way, so that's a favorite. I love actually writing, just letting the words flow out and creating this world. I HATE EDITING. I absolutely hate it. It is the biggest pain in my butt. It's mostly spelling errors and punctuation stuff. I also hate having to cut things during editing, sometimes I really love a scene but it just doesn't make sense with the story.

9) How did you come up with the idea for Fool's Gold? Did it just kinda popped up in your head or did you read/watch something that made you think of the storyline? And when you first had the idea, did you just sort of go with it and figured the plot out along the way or did you have complete outline of everything that would happen? I listened to the song a lot. I LOVE the song so much. It is probably my favorite on FOUR. So I just kind of thought of what the song could be about. And I didn't not have the storyline completely laid out before I started writing. I was winging it until about the 15th chapter. Then it just dawned on me how the rest of the story would go. Originally, it wasn't supposed to be that Enola was married. I actually went back and changed it once I had really decided what I wanted to do. I totally BS'ed my way through the first few chapters. Hahaha

10) How do you ALWAYS(haha oops) know how to make good chapters? I don't. Lol. I send out so many chapters that I write for any story to Livy, Kal or Mel and they tell me if it's shit or not then we go on from there. I can tell you that when I write I want to capture detail and emotion, I make it simple but try to keep them elaborate as well. I like keeping it real too.

BONUS QUESTIONS
1. Which is the moment in ALWAYS that you struggled to write the most? I think the hardest moment to write would have to be either, when Enola told Harry that Darcy was his daughter or when they got back together. Their fights are really hard to write. Lol.
2. Is there a real couple that inspired you to write about Harry and Enola? Not...no. No there's not. Lol

AND the bonus for the challenge:
DAVID BOWIE'S FAME. Any other is just bad. Lol. I'm too much of a Bowie fan to use anything but his. :)
