EMILY’S POV:
We arrived in London a week ago and I was so not excided. I didn’t want to move here, and being forced to live here wasn’t what I had in mind. “Honey I have to go to work but I promise ill be home tomorrow to celebrate your 18th birthday okay?” my dad said with a little bit of worry in his voice. When I hear that worry in his voice I know nothings going to turn out as planned. “That’s what you said last year, on my 17th birthday” I said to him annoyingly. He groaned and said “I’m know and I’m sorry… but I have to run! See you soon. I love you” and with that he dashed out the door like every other day.
I was starting school the day after my birthday and I wasn’t ready for school. I just didn’t like the fact that I had to make new friends and start new. Ever since my mom died my dad has only been paying attention to work. I think he just wants to escape from reality and the life he has at home. My mom died a few months ago from smoking. Her lungs finally gave up and shriveled. Ever since then life is a shit hole.
I walked over to my laptop and opened it up. My old friends told me to skype them every chance I get so that’s what I was going to do. I opened up skype and logged in. once I did that I quickly dialed my friend. My two best friends that live in the USA are always together, so ill be able to see them both. After about 2 rings I saw two faces come up on my screen. I smiled the minute I saw them. “EMILY!” one of my friends screamed. “OMG! EMILY!” said my other friend. I smiled and said “GIRLS! I MISS YOU SO MUCH!” they both said “WE MISS YOU TOO!” we were screaming to each other threw skype. They obviously were skyping on their phone because I saw the back round and it looked like a mall.
My friend quickly said “we kind of have to go! Sorry Emily! Were hanging out with Sarah” she turned the screen so the camera was on this girl Sarah. I have to be honest, I was very upset. I had only been gone for a week and I was already being replaced. “bye we lo-“ I cut the voices off by hanging up before they could finish what they were saying. I turned off my laptop and threw myself on my bed.
I honestly think moving to London was the worst thing I had to do. I know it was for my dad but I can’t stand it already. Well, if my friends are going to replace me, ill just replace them.

I woke up the next morning to my dad waking me up. I smiled knowing Im finally getting to spend time with my dad. When I rubbed my eyes and adjusted to the light I saw my dad was in a business suit. “Why are you wearing a suit?” I asked calmly trying not to show I knew what the answer was. “I have to go to work Hun. I’m sorry but happy birthday” I just groaned and said nothing else. He looked at me and said “Em, you know I’m doing this for us right?” I then shouted “no dad! You’re doing this for you…” and with that I got out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I locked the door and just sat there crying.
I heard my dad banging on the door. I then heard his say “Emily, im sorry but I just want to make sure you have the money for a better future” I laughed to myself and said “so not celebrating your only daughters 18th birthday is giving her a better future?” I said sarcastically. “you just don’t get it. I have to go, ill be home at midnight, the latest.” I heard my dad say on the other side of the door. I think this was going to be another day in hell.

After about an hour of sitting on the bathroom floor motionless I finally decided to get up and shower. I turned the water on warm and slowly stripped my clothes off. I got in the shower and let the warm water hit my back. I needed a break from life. That’s what I wanted for my birthday. A break from everybody and just to get away. I finally did my business in the shower and quickly got out to get dressed.
I put on a sweatshirt that said pop on it, pink pants, a pink beanie, and black a pair of my shoes. Since im in London its cooler here and im not really use to it being as cold as it is.

My hair just went in curls so I let it be. I grabbed my phone and went to the garage where my dad had his cars. When I went in a saw a different car and it had a note on it. it said “honey, I know you were upset when I left this morning but before you ran off I wanted to show you this. I never had the chance, but here she is! Your new car! Anyways remember daddy loves you, happy 18th birthday”

I started to tear up because I felt bad, and because I got a new car! I hopped in the car and started freaking out. It was a really nice car. I found the keys to it on the passenger seat. I grabbed them started the car and took off!

A while past and I got home from a long day of shopping. I bought a lot of stuff. I did get lost a couple times because of the fact that I’m new to London. When I got home I checked the time and it was 8:30. I walked to my room and set my bags down on my floor. I had at least 13 bags. I searched threw my bags cause I had just bought some new pajama’s. when I finally found my pjs I quickly undressed myself and put on my pj’s.
I put on the pink/peach dress pajamas, because since my dad wasn’t home I wouldnt feel odd or awkward.

When I finished dressing I laid in bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.

I woke up to an annoying beeping noise. I groaned and put my pillow over my face. After about 3 minutes of listening to the annoying beeping I got up and shut it off. It was my first day of school, here in London. It was already half the school year for everyone but I was coming in the middle. I really didnt want to get up. I had a bad feeling about today. Maybe because it was my first day and that I had to meet new people and make new friends.

I then did my hair. My hair was nice and wavy so I just let it be. I’ve always liked my natural hair so my hair wasn’t dead or damaged from to much heat. I went to the kitchen and then I saw my dad. He had made breakfast, and he never makes breakfast.
“Morning dad” I said as I walked over to him. “Good morning, do you like your car?” I then hugged him and said “I love it. but what are you doing?” “well, im cooking for you” he said happily. “for what?” I said sounding a little curious. “Well Hun... umm…dad has to go on a business trip for 2 weeks. I wanted to do one last thing for you before I left.” I felt tears building up in my eyes because all he ever does is go to work.
“oh” I said with hurt in my voice. I put my head down and then dad said “look, ill be back before you know it! when I get back I will be getting a 3 day vacation. I will be with you, alright?” I smiled the minute he said that. I ran up to him and hugged him tighter than ever. “Make plans for us while Im gone okay?” I smiled even more and said “okay. I will.”
He then told me to sit at the table and that’s what I did. He then walked over to me and placed the food he cooked in front of me. i Started eating until my dad sad “baby girl, I have go. I love you so much! Call me if anything happens. Love you.” I tear slid down my face and I quickly jumped out of my seat. I walked over to my dad and gave him the biggest hug I’ve ever given someone. “I love you to daddy” I said not wanting to let go of him. He kissed my forehead and said “bye, have fun at school”

My dad had left about 20 minutes ago and I’ve just been sitting around until it was a reasonable time to leave. School started at eight and it was 7:30. I got up and got into my car. I started driving to school and when I finally made it it was only 7:37. I think I live to close to school. I found a parking spot and got out of my car. I started walking to the office and then all of a sudden a blonde girl and a red head walked beside me.
“Hi im Ashley” said the blonde girl. “And im Megan” said the red head. I smiled at them both and said “umm... hi im Emily” they smiled and then Ashley said “your new huh? I can tell, I never seen you around school before.” I then said “yea im new, and can you guys tell me where the office is please?” Megan then said “no, we will take you to the office” I smiled gratefully and said “thank you” they both said “no biggy”
When we reached the office I walked in and the girls decided to sit outside the office. I was handed my classes and then I walked out. Megan came up to me the minute she saw me exit the office. “let me see your schedule” she said rather demanding. I handed it to her and she sad “great! You have our classes. Are you like really smart or something?” I laughed and said “I don’t know, why?” Ashley then spoke up and said “because we are in the smart classes and you are too” I smiled at the thought of being smart.
After talking to the girls for a while more the bell rang. I just followed them because we had the same classes. The first class was science. I wasn’t a huge fan of it but I kind of had no choice. When I walked in, the teacher stopped me. He waited for all the kids to arrive and have a seat. When they were all seated he then spoke and said “everyone, this is Emily. She is new here and just moved here all the way from America so treat her with respect.” I smiled at the teacher and then someone said “id tap that”
The whole class started laughing and instantly turned red. Mr. McDaniel, my teacher, then looked up and he didn’t look happy. He pointed at a kid with tattoos on his arms and a couple of piercing’s.
“You! Step out of my classroom” he stood up and had a cheeky grin on his face. He looked me in the eye and then winked. I just rolled my eyes and looked away from him. “sorry about that Emily, you may have a seat in the back of the class.” When I looked there were only two empty seats. One was that wired guy’s seat and the other was right by it. I smiled like I had no problem with it but on the inside I was screaming.
I had to sit next to a creep. Mr. McDaniel then left the room, im guessing to talk to that guy. There was another boy sitting on the left of me with a buzz cut. He then said “hi im Liam, how long have you been here in London?” he has a sweet voice and I then said “im emily and for a week now” he smiled and said “that’s cool.” I then said “yea, can I ask you something?” he looked very calm and chill. “sure” he said. “who was that? You know… that guy?” his face went from happy to an uncomfortable look. “That’s Harry. Stay away from him, he’s nothing but trouble”
I nodded and said “okay, thanks” he smiled and said “any time love.” the teacher then walked back into the classroom with Harry in front of him. Harry came and had a seat while Mr. McDaniel began on the lesson. I looked down at my desk and started to fiddle with my fingers. I then heard a deep raspy voice say “hey gorgeous” I put my head up and looked at Harry. His eyes were red and I knew why he was acting like he was. “are you stoned?” I asked him as quiet as I could but only loud enough for him to hear. He smiled and said “yup” I just turned my head and looked away.
I saw Liam looking at me so I looked at him. He gave me a look as if he was saying ‘what did I tell you young lady’. I just shrugged. A smile obviously grew on my face.

It was already lunch time and Megan and Ashley have been holding on to me as if I was a little kid in a store trying to run after the toys. We all grabbed our lunch and they lead me to a table. Megan said “here, you can sit by me” as she showed me the chair to sit in. we sat for a while then I spotted Liam. He was walking over to the table. He then sat down and sad “the rest of the lads are coming” Ashley squealed in excitement. I looked at her crazy and then liam said “her boyfriend is coming” I laughed and when I was about to stop i laughed even more.
“What’s so funny?” Liam asked. “Umm… well you said her boyfriend is coming and it sounds wrong so I thought it was funny” they all looked at me and began laughing along. Three other boys then started walking to the table. When they all sat Ashley immediately kissed a blonde boy that had sitten next to her. Liam then said “don’t eat him! You have food right there!” we all started laughing but she just pulled away and started blushing.
Liam then said “anyways, guys this is Emily she’s new here. And Emily this is Louis, zayn, and niall.” I smiled at them all and said “hi, its nice to meet you all”

School was finally over when I was going to walk to my car someone caught my eye. I started walking slowly. It was Harry talking with an older man. They were kind of behind a tree to were they weren’t so noticeable. I was still walking slowly so I could hear their conversation. I didn’t have to be home right away so I just was being nosy. I then heard the man say “HARRY! I WANT YOU OUT OF MY HOUSE! ALL YOU EVER DO IS GET FUCKED UP!” Harry then said “YOUR KICKING ME OUT? BECAUSE IM LIVING MY LIFE AS A FUCK UP? BECAUSE I MAKE MISTAKES?” the man then said “DON’T TALK TO ME LIKE THAT! IM YOUR FATHER AND YOU BETTER START TREATING ME WITH REPECT!”
I wasn’t sure if I really should be listening to their conversation but I was. I can tell harry was getting pissed cause his face hardened and I watched as his hands turned to fists. I was kind of scared and not sure if I should just walk away or watch just in case things went ugly. I stopped walking and acted like I was on my phone. I then heard low whispering and then I heard a groan. I looked up and Harry’s dad was holding his face.
Harry’s dad then punched Harry and kept doing it. Now they were going on a full on fight. I started freaking out and didn’t know what to do. I put my bag and phone on the ground and ran over to them. Harry was on bottom and his dad was on top of him. I grabbed onto Harry’s dads shirt and pulled him off of Harry. His dad looked at me and I said “what the fuck are you doing?” more in a shouting voice. Harry’s dad looked at a now hurt Harry on the floor and his eyes started to water. Harry’s dad kneeled down and said “im so sorry son!” harry just pushed hi away from him and got up.
Harrys dad just walked off as nothing happened and I watched as he go into his car and left. Harry looked at me annoyed and said “you can go now” I raised my eye brows and said “I can but im not going to.” He was about to walk away and then I said “where are you going to stay?” he stopped walking and said “that’s none of your concern” I then said “harry you can stay at my place for the night if you need to. I don’t want you to have to sleep on the streets” he sighed loudly and said “alright” I smiled and said okay well let me get my stuff and we will leave.
