The Arranged Wedding

Chapter 1

Annabeth Styles POV.

I stood next to Riden's side, as he greeted people. He had mastered his charm, as a fake smile was planted on his face. But faking happiness, had never been a skill of mine. It was quite clear I was unhappy with my situation. Even in my beautiful gown, surrounded by all my family and friends, I was miserable. All of this was starting to overwhelm me, and I look for a place to escape. My eyes fell on a garden, as far as the eye can see.

I quietly excused myself from Riden's side, and left. I quickly walked past people, and to the ghost town of a garden. I just want to get away from it all. If I had to be around this wedding any longer, I think I would be sick. It honestly disgusts me, that I have to be with a man I share no feelings for. When I was sure I was out of sight, I sat down on a bench and cried. That's right, I just started bawling my eyes out. I hated this wedding full of fake smiles. I hated my husband, who was everything I despised. I hated all of it.

"It is your wedding day, and you're crying in the garden." A man stated. I looked up, and saw Harry Styles. He had a sympathetic smile on his face, as he sat down next to me. What is he doing here? I imagine he was going to give me a lecture, on how a Styles is meant to act. Now that I was one myself. I wiped my eyes, and looked away from him. He took out a small flask from his pocket. I gave him a confused look. That was not what I was expecting.

"I'm not a big fan of weddings. It's a bit overrated, when you obviously don't love my brother. I can't blame you, he's not the biggest ray of sunshine." Harry stated giving me a small smile. I returned the smile, as he took a swig of the alcohol, and handed it to me. I took a drink, letting the poison burn down my throat, and slightly coughed afterwards.

"Easy killer, that's one hundred percent alcohol." He told me slightly laughing. I handed him the flask, shaking my head slightly. He bit his bottom lip, and frowned his eyebrows, then looked back at me.

"I must ask, most women would kill to be in your position. Literally. Why does this upset you so?" He asked me. I looked back at the ground. He's right, any other woman would be thrilled to be in the Styles family. But all of this just felt, and seemed wrong in my eyes.

"I don't care about power and money. I just married a name, not a person. Marriage shouldn't be a business deal. Not if you ask me anyways." I told him. He smiled at my answer, and nodded his head. He looked quite pleased by my response. If I had told this to anyone else, they would have scolded me.

"I'm happy that we have another person, other than me, with common sense in the Styles house." He told me, making me laugh. I have a feeling Harry and I will get along smoothly. He seems to be more like me. He took another drink, and handed me the flask once again. I took a smaller sip of the alcohol, before giving it back to him.

"You're quite different from what I imagined Harry." I told him. He gave me an amused smile, and I returned one. He really isn't how I imagined him to be. I thought he would be like the rest of his family, but he's more laid back.

"Never judge a book by its cover my dear. I've personally always hated this life. I'd like to go to California, if something, and just live on the beach. My brother, on the other hand, is more like my father. He loves power and money." He said shaking his head. Then we heard footsteps, and Harry quickly hid his flask.

"Annabeth Victoria, I have been looking for you everywhere. You can't just hide from your own wedding." My mother told me, a disapproving look on her face. Then she saw Harry, and gave him a smile.

"Sorry Mrs. Haines, insisted on showed Annabeth the garden. Being as we'll be living in the same home, I thought it would be nice to get to know her." Harry said smoothly. Thank you Harry, for saving my ass. Her eyes lit up, and she nodded.

"Annabeth dear, you look like you've been crying." My mother observed. I bit my bottom lip, and looked at my shoes. Harry once again intervened. He was quite good, at faking charm.

"She's just a bit nervous about moving so far from home. I reassured her she would be fine, my family will take good care of her. Nothing to worry about Mrs. Haines. Isn't that right Anna." He shortened my name, and I nodded. He gave her a wide smile, projecting his dimples. She smiled back, and I let out a sigh of relief. I'm personally terrible at lying, and could have never pulled that off.

"Well thank you Harry. Come now dear, I'll get you cleaned up. You need to make more of an appearance Annabeth. You wouldn't want to disappoint anyone." My mother told me. I sighed, and nodded. I got up, and Harry took my hand. He placed a small kiss on it.

"I had a wonderful time talking to you. Enjoy the rest of your wedding." He said, dropping his right eye into a wink. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing. He let go of my hand, and I smiled at him. My mother then took my arm, and drug me away from him. My mother took me to the side, and began to fix my make up. When she was done, we went over back to Riden. He faked a smile, though it was obvious he was upset about my disappearance.

"Annabeth, I was worried about you." He lied. He wasn't worried about me, he just needed me to make him look good. "Where on earth have you been?" He asked me. I looked down at my shoes, and bit my bottom lip. My mother quickly answered for me.

"Your brother was showing her the garden. Lovely boy he is." My mother mused. He cringed, and looked in the direction of the garden. Harry stood by a hedge, and lightly waved, knowing he was mentioned. Riden seemed beyond mad, and grabbed my arm. His fingers hurt, as they dug into my skin. My mother left, not noticing his violent actions. He moved his lips over to my ear.

"Don't ever run off like that again, understood?" He asked me. I swallowed nervously, and nodded my head. Fear shot through me. He then gave me a smile, and loosened his grip. He moved his hand to my lower back, now back to his charming self. I looked over at Harry, who was shaking his head. He gave me an apologetic look. We greeted more people, though I let Riden do most of the talking. For some odd reason I felt Harry's eyes on us the whole time. He almost seemed worried. After talking to people for two hours straight, Riden led me away from the wedding. His hand gripped my wrist.

"Where are we going?" I asked him. He ignored me, and continued walked. He took me inside the Styles mansion, and then slammed me against the wall. I gave him a look of shock, my mouth dropping. He had me pinned. I was honestly terrified. I didn't know anything about him, or what he was cable of.

"There are a few rules that you must follow as my wife, Mrs. Styles." He stated. I swallowed, and the held my chin up. I since a courage washed over me.

"And what if I don't follow your rules?" I asked him. He smirked at me, and began laughing. It only made me more nervous. I felt his grip tighten on my wrist, causing me to wince.

"You have guts Annabeth I'll give you that, but they won't do you any justice. I can give you anything you desire, or I can make your life a living hell. Let's put it that way. I own you now Annabeth, do you understand?" He asked. I weighed my options. Being my stubborn self, I wanted to see how far I could push him. So I could draw a line not to cross, for future reference. I remained silence, glaring at the hateful man. He slammed me harder against the wall, making me yelp. My head was pounding, and I could feel the bruises forming on my wrist.

"Don't push me Annabeth. Am. I. Understood?" He asked me through clenched teeth. My head fell in defeat, and I nodded. I released one of my wrist, and lifted my chin up with his finger. I looked into his eyes, that almost seemed black. He had a devilish smirk playing on his lips.

"Rule number one, you are mine, and only mine. If you ever have an affair, I promise it will be the worst mistake you have ever made. Rule number two, you will heed to all my needs. Meaning if I wish to have sex, you will do so. Rule number three, you will bare my child when the time comes. Whether you like it or not. Rule number four, never disrespect me. Especially not in front of others. You will do anything I say. Never disobey me. Are we clear?" He asked. I clenched my jaw, feeling tears brim my eyes. I held them back, not wanting to give him any satisfaction.

"Crystal." I responded. A man came in, and cleared his throat. Riden's head turned around, as he shot the man a glare. The man cleared his throat nervously.

"Mr. Styles, Mr. Daniels wishes to speak to you." He started. Then he finally noticed me. "Alone." He added on. Riden sighed, and then left with the man. I was once again alone. Reality hit me hard in that moment. I was married to a monster. I leaned heavily against the wall, and rubbed my wrist. I slowly slid down the wall, and onto the floor. What in the actual hell just happened?

"Are you okay?" I looked, and saw Harry. He had a worried look written on his face. I shrugged, and he sat next to me. "I'm sorry. Like I said before, he's not the biggest ray of sunshine." Harry said, and I chuckled. I stared down at my bruised wrist. Harry noticed the newly formed markings an sighed.

"I just realized I'm married to the biggest asshole in England." I stated, and he gave me a small smile. Riden really is the biggest ass I have ever met. Which is saying a lot, considering I've met some of the most self absorbed people in the world.

"Well this party sucks. How about I introduce you to the real party? My friends are more laid back than these full of them self fuck heads." Harry suggested. I gave him a light smile, and nodded. Harry got up, and unlike Riden, he gently took my hand. He helped me up, and looped his arm in mine. He led me to a den, which seemed to take forever to reach. This house is huge. I saw three boys in suits, laughing while drinking beer. There was another boy with raven hair, sitting quietly in the corner.

"Lads meet the newest, and my favorite, edition to the Styles family. Annabeth these are some of the cooler people around here." Harry introduced us. The boys cheered, all except the quiet one. They ran up to me, with huge smiles on their faces. The blond one took my hand, and placed a gentle kiss on it, just as Harry had earlier.

"Ello love, my name is Niall Horan. It's pleasure to meet you." Niall said to me, and I gave him a smile. The one with blue eyes, and a goofy smile took my hand. He placed a kiss on it, and his smile grew.

"The names Louis Tomlinson my dear. I'm the best looking one out of this odd group of lads." Louis joked, and I lightly laughed. The one with light brown hair, and dark brown eyes took my bank. Just as the other boys had, he placed a kiss on it.

"Sorry about those two immature idiots, my name is Liam Payne." Liam said, giving me a small smile. I told them all a hello.

"That one over there is Zayn. He's a bit shy, don't mind him." Harry told me, I gave him a small wave. He returned it with a smile.

"So where's your new husband?" Niall asked me. I cringed at the mention of Riden. Even the thought of him, makes me want to throw up. I absolutely can not stand that man. Where is he? Who cares where he is?

"He's not here thankfully." I responded, and they all laughed. Even Zayn cracked a small smile. I sat down, and we all started small talk. After awhile, even Zayn joined in the conversation. They were all pretty cool. They all had insanely wealthy families. Higher than mine, but not as high as Harry's. Even being that, they weren't stuck up snobs, like everyone else. The conversation was filled with laughs. I was laughing extremely hard at something Louis had said, when I heard someone clear their throat. My head cocked in the direction, and I saw Riden. My face went pale.

"I see you've met the island of misfit toys. We must get going though, we have a plane to catch." He snarled. All the boys glared at him. I just simply nodded my head. I told all of them a quiet goodbye, and left with my husband. He handed me a black dress to change into. I was taken into a changing room, by the girls who would be serving me at the Styles manor. They helped me out of the wedding gown, and I put on the black dress. They did my hair, and I was off with Riden. He pulled me behind him, gripping my wrist. As I was leaving, I saw Harry and the boys again. They all had worried looks on their faces. Harry gave me a smile, and I returned it. Then I was thrown into the limousine. Just Married, was painted on the back of it. I can't wait for this to be over...
