Once all the boys got to greet me, we all sat down in the living room. Harry, Liam and Louis sat on the couch. Zayne threw himself in an arm chair. Niall pulled me on to the floor next to him. Why was he acting like this?
“So who wants to tell her first?” Louis said quietly. Zayne sighed and stood up.
“Zee, you have been living in Maryland with your mom for about two years. During the first few months you met us and then you were driving home from our house when a drunk driver rammed you into a tree. You were in the hospital for months. We were all so worried about you.” Zayne started to choke up and Harry took over.
“When we were finally able to see you the doctor told us you couldn’t remember anything that happened in the past months. He said you could only remember moving here and nothing else. When we looked at you lying in the bed bruised, pale, and unconscious, Niall broke down right there in front of everyone, us and your family.” Harry started tearing up. “Even Gina and Jake were there” he growled. Why did he look so mad at Gina? She was my best friend in the world. The fact that she flew all the way from California to Maryland warmed my heart. When he said Jake’s name my blood ran cold and I unwound my hand from Niall’s hand stood up and ran for the bathroom without knowing where the bathroom was.
How did I know where I was going?
Once I reached my destination shut the door, sat on the tub edge and lifted my hands to my face and started crying.

I heard the door open but didn’t move. I felt hands pull my hands away from my face. I looked up to see Liam keeling before me. Harry and Niall were standing not too far behind him. I sniffled and he pulled me into a hug. I started crying into his shoulder as I hugged him back.

After a few moments, when my eyes couldn’t produce anymore tears I let go of Liam and wiped my face. As I pulled away I saw that I soaked the left half of his dark grey t-shirt. He looked at me with care in his eyes. He didn’t have lust in his eyes he looked at me with genuine care. Liam took hold of my hands and pulled me up with him. I looked up at Niall. His eyes were shiny, like he was about to cry. Harry wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that he was crying. Tears ran down his face as he pulled me in for a hug. He was so much taller than me. He kissed the top of my head.
“I’m so sorry for what he did to you Kenz.”He whispered in my hair. I pulled away suddenly.
“How do you know what he did to me?” I looked at Niall, who was standing in the corner. “How do you guys know so much about me if I know nothing about you?”
“Makenzy, we all know you very well. The truth is that we were dating when you were hit. You were on your way home because we got into a fight. I thought you were cheating on me. You were so mad at me. Liam tried to talk you into staying here the night, but you said you didn’t want to be anywhere near someone who would think of you as a cheater.” The tears in his eyes overflowed.

We what? We were dating? How the hell did we even meet? Why did he like me? All these questions running through my head made me feel woozy. Everything suddenly turned black.
