Whirlwind

The First Date (Part Two)

Jessica's POV:

I was having such a lovely evening with Harry, he really was the perfect date. He asked all the right questions, seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say and he was such a gentleman. His good looks and charm were an added bonus. The more he told me about himself and the more I got to know him, I realised I was starting to really like him.

The restaurant he had picked was perfect, it was intimate and private, although I had noticed the looks we were getting from other people around us but when I looked at Harry, everyone else just seemed to fade away.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was getting ready earlier, I knew we had chemistry, but like I had told Amy, I didn't know him at all. I mean of course I knew who he was - you would have to be from another planet not to recognise him, but obviously the only thing I knew were things I had read or seen in interviews - and lets face it that isn't always true. I wanted to
get to know him for myself, I always try not to judge people in any way, and I was really glad I had the chance to make the decision myself. And he was definitely a cut above the rest.

After the waitress had cleared out plates from dinner, Harry asked for the cheque. I knew deep down he was going to want to pay for dinner, but I have always been one to pay my way too. I knew I would probably have a fight on my hands, but I am not one for letting my morals slide for anyone.

When the bill arrived, I grabbed my purse and got a £50 note out and placed it on the tray. I had to hold in a chuckle as Harry's face was a picture. The shock that filled his face gave me the impression this was a first for him. Before he had the chance to say anything I simply said "I always pay my way babe."

He looked at me speechless, picked up the money and placed it right in front of me.
"Firstly I want to say thank you. That was a lovely guesture and it actually means more to me than you will ever know, but dinner is my treat tonight." As I opened my mouth to protest the waitress came over and took Harry's card. A smile crept over his face and I couldn't help but mirror his expressions.
"I guess I will have to let you have that one Styles, but next time it is on me - no arguments!" I playfully nudged his leg under the table with my foot and he let out a small laugh and said, "We'll see."

As we got up to leave the restaurant, I couldn't help but think I didn't want the date to end so soon and I had a feeling Harry felt the same too.

As we got to the front doors, Harry turned to me and said "It's a little crazy outside, hold on to my hand, don't let go and carry on walking."
I stood there nodding like the churchill dog, not really taking the situation as seriously as he clearly was. I've never prided myself on being the most observant person, so I thought he was being a bit over cautious, however as soon as we stepped outside, I realised that was not the case.

I jumped in the car and slammed the door shut. I couldn't believe the chaos I had just witnessed and evidently been a part of. As soon as we walked out of the restaurant doors there was a flood of flashing lights and people screaming at us. It all is a bit of a blurr as it happened so quickly, all I really remember is Harry holding on to my hand so tightly and some guy literally shoving a camera in my face. I felt a little shocked and extremely overwhelmed, but what did I really expect - I was out on a date with Harry Styles.

I was silent as we drove off towards my place and I could feel Harry's eyes boring holes in the back of my head. He reached over and rested his hand on my leg. " Are you alright babe?"
He intrupted my train of thought and I instantly turned to him and smiled. I didn't want this to ruin our evening, but I definitely felt out of place in his world.

We pulled up on my drive outside my house and I realised neither of us had said a word on the journey home. I turned to look at Harry, only to be met by a sad gaze.
"Would you like to come in for a bit? Have a glass of wine or something?"
His eyes lit up and a smile formed on his face. "I'd love to."
