Extra Chapter!
Anjelicas POV
My job hunt was a success. I landed a job at Gamestop because one, I know all there is about video games and two, I’m just cool like that. The only ones who know about my job are Nicole, Nick, and some of my friends. I didn’t tell the boys because they would ask why and then I would have to go into this whole explanation about the money and mom and blah blah blah. They also would worry why I have a job when I’m working so hard on my school work. It’s hard enough that this year moms birthday is on Thanksgiving, which is 3 days away. I don’t like talking about her and I plan on not having to. I started stacking up the new games on the shelves, organizing them by category. I’ve only been working here for 4 days now, but I seem to have gotten the hang of everything quickly.
“Anjelica, lunch time. 40 minute break” my manager, Tom said and I gave him a small smile. My lunch break isn’t for another 10 minutes and is usually 30 minutes long, but Tom is just nice like that. Tom is a big guy around his late twenties. He has the biggest smile and will help you out in any way. He knows a little about Nikki and I’s story, but not all the details. Tom actually even worked here while I was a senior. I would come here every week, asking questions about the latest stuff.
“Thanks” I said, heading to the back to grab my things. I slipped into the back and scooped up my items swiftly. “See ya soon” I waved over my shoulder to Tom.
“Yep” he said. I exited my workplace and slid into my car. I headed off to the nearest Subway, my stomach wanting just a sandwich today. I pulled into the parking lot and took my time, not in a rush. I ordered my sandwich and decided to eat inside today rather than my car. There wasn’t many people in Subway, and a majority of those few people were alone, so it was quite peaceful. Taking a seat in the back, I shuffled through my bag and pulled out a notebook, a pen, a newspaper, and a book, all materials needed for my English assignment. We needed to compare some Shakespeare book to something in everyday life that’s publicly known, like something in newspapers or on the web. I took slow bites into my sandwich, carefully reading the newspaper. I was making good progress when the door jingled, signalling that another customer was entering. Laughter filled the room as the customers walked in, but I didn’t bother looking up.
“Hi, welcome to Subway. What can I get for you today?” A female employee’s voice asked and I froze when I heard the voice.
“Hello, I would like and Italian footlong” an irish voice said and I frantically held up the newspaper higher to hide my face.
“Okay..” the female voice said, slightly out of breath. I just knew that she was blown away by his irish accent and cute smile that I positively knew he was flashing. I peeked over the newspaper and saw all the boys laughing and joking around while they waited their turn to order. I saw Louis glance over at me and I quickly held up shielded myself with the newspaper. Wait, Anjelica, you’re not at your job. They would just think that I’m out to grab a bite. Yeah yeah, not need to worry. I nodded to myself and set the newspaper down and grabbed my sandwich to look like I was oblivious to them being here. I took another bite and tried to focus on my assignment. A sudden presence surrounded me and I looked up to see all the boys looking down at me, trays piled with food in hand.
“Hi” Niall smiled and my cheeks burned at the sight of him.
“Hi” I said, managing to smile.
“Mind if we join you?” Zayn asked and I shook my head. Niall took the seat next to me while Harry and Louis each pulled up a chair, and Liam and zayn sat across from Niall and I.
“So, whatcha doing here? ‘Cause you know, you said that you had to study today” Liam asked, reaching out to grab his sandwich from the tray.
“Oh, just thought I’d get out for a bit” I said, grabbing my drink to swallow down the lie.
“Same here” Zayn smiled. Nick and Nicole were taking a best friend day together, so that’s why the boys weren’t hanging out with them.
“Why do you have a gamestop shirt?” Niall asked, pointing to my shirt.
“Oh, um, I like Gamestop” I said, mentally slapping myself for not taking off my uniform. What i said wasn’t completely a lie, I do like Gamestop.
“We LOVE Gamestop” Louis said loudly, causing some of the female employees to giggle. I rolled my eyes when Louis looked over and winked at them, becoming all flirty like Harry. I felt my phone buzzed and looked down to see that I had a text from Nikki asking if she could jump on Nicks trampoline. I sighed and shook my head as I replied telling her no because she needed to be careful with her elbow. I swear, she’s become even more clumsy and reckless than she was before she even hurt her elbow. I exited out of my messages and had to keep my eyes from popping out of my head. My lunch break was over 15 minutes ago!
“Ah, nice talking to you guys, but I really have to go” I said, quickly packing everything.
“Why?” Niall asked, his features slumping a little.
“I..uh..have to pick up a friend. I said that I would pick her up so we could study together” I quickly lied and apologized before fleeing Subway and speeding back to my job. “I’m so sorry!” I said as I burst through the doors. Some customers gave me strange looks, but Tom, who was behind the counter, just waved it off.
“It’s fine, I’m not mad. We all lose track of time. Just next time, try to be on time” Tom said and I gave him a thankful smile. Tom kindly asked me to clean a few discs that were in the back and I quickly hopped to it. Just as I finished the last of the discs, another one of the employees, Max, asked if I could help answer some questions for some customers up front.
“No problem” I said, quickly checking to make sure that everything was in place, like my name tag. I followed Max out to the front and froze at the sight of them.
“Anjelica?” Niall asked, all of them giving me the same confused expression I was wearing.
“You know these guys?” Max asked, but I just brushed him off.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, gulping noticeably.
“Well, we LOVE Gamestop, remember?” Louis said, obviously trying to make things less shocking and awkward.
“You work here?” Harry asked and I nodded with a sigh.
“Wh-” Harry started, but I cut him off.
“Please, don’t” I said, shifting my weight under their questioning eyes.
“Alright, we won’t” Niall said, assuring me with a smile. “But, can I ask you about this?” Niall asked, holding up a game that I just now noticed in his hand. I smiled at Niall who was practically glowing. I walked over to his and kissed his cheek before grabbing the game from his hands. I smirked at his blush and started explaining about the game.

Okay, first of all, I would have updated earlier if my best friend @eponinetozayn wasn't over for friken ever! I couldn't let him read this while I was typing, so I had to wait until he left. So anyways, here's the first extra chapter!! I know that it does have to do a little with part of the storys problem thing, but I really didn't want to have to do a big chapter about the job and all, so I decided to make this as an extra chapter. That, and I really just want to jump into the next chapter with out any other big chapters in between. Of course, votes are always appreciated, same with comments. I love you and thank you all for reading!!! Keep telling me your thoughts, and any suggestions??
