Career in Jeopardy

The drive was silent and eventually I fell asleep.

I felt myself being lifted and jumped in shock. My eyes opened and it was Harry.

“It’s alright love, it’s just me.” Harry said smiling slightly. “Go back to sleep.”

I happily complied and rested my head against his shoulder and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he continued to carry me bridal style. I soon felt sleep upon me.

I had just been laid flat down on a bed.

“Harry?” I asked groggily even though I had only been asleep for 5 minutes.

He immediately came into view. He had changed out of his club clothes into grey trackies but his chest was bare. I greedily took in his toned body, his abs and his tattoos.

“Like what you see Darc?”

I looked up and saw Harry smirking at me as he crossed his arms across his chest as he studied me. I felt myself blush as he caught me out and called me Darc. I didn’t mind I think I even liked it.

“Why am here?” I questioned as I dodged his cheeky question.

His expression went serious to shock then back to serious. “Well I wasn’t going to leave you there, was I?” he said coming towards me to sit a few spaces away from me on the bed.

I shrugged as I tried to deny the buzz inside me as he sat near. “You seemed like you were pretty pissed earlier.” I muttered only loud enough that he could just me.

He got off the bed and went to a chest of draw. He took out what looked a t-shirt and boxers. He chucked them at me.

With his back still turned away from he walked towards the door. “Stay here tonight I don’t want you out of my sight. I’ll take the couch.” Then he left leaving me shocked and confused.

I got my phone out of my boot and texted Frankie that I would be staying in a different hotel and I would meet her at our flat. She would be jumping to conclusions tomorrow but I’m hoping her hang over would be too over whelming. I then quickly changed into the shirt and boxers Harry left me. I walked into the suite bathroom and found some make up remover that the hotel supplies. After removing my make-up I quickly brushed my teeth with a spare tooth brush I found in a cupboard under the sink. I then walked back to the bed and slowly got in under the covers and let sleep once again flood over me.

Harry’s Pov:

Why did I find this girl so fascinating? Why did I have such an overwhelming protectiveness over her? I had kissed her in the elevator and it was the best kiss I had ever had. Her lips moved so hesitantly over mine but then stronger. I knew she was strong. With some girls you have to be gentle but Darcy seemed so strong. I loved having my body pressed against hers I could feel every part of her. I loved how her hand ran through my hair, it sent shivers up my spine and no girl had ever done that before. But then the elevator door opened and I could see it in her eyes straight away, panic, and confusion. She had shoved me away and stormed off after she asked why I kissed her. When I asked what her problem was of me she quickly called me a man-whore and a lot of people had called me that, magazines, interview shows that would then by the way ask One Direction for an interview but for some reason it hurt that she would believe the tabloids and press. She had then stormed out of the hotel lobby ignoring my warnings of wait as I knew paps would be waiting out there. I wanted to leave her but as soon as I saw her scared and panicked I was running out there before I knew it myself. I had shoved the paps down and out of my way and grabbed her wrist to drag her to her car. As soon as she was there I left without saying a word.

Then I saw her at the club and I was still in a foul mode with her and I wanted to murder Niall for bringing her to our table even though I knew he had good intentions. She had looked so sexy in that little black dress that it took me a lot of restraint in not ripping it off her. I could tell that she was a lot of make-up though I think she looked a lot better without it, she was beautiful without all the gloop on her face. She had sat down right in front of me and I couldn’t stop but stare at her. Darcy’s cheeks had burnt a deep shade of red. Then Niall had whipped out his phone about a tweet Darcy’s friend had posted about it being her first kiss. I was shocked how had no guy kissed her? She was just so beautiful. She had quickly scurried off after that I scolded Niall for making her so embarrassed that she want to leave.

“Why do you care anyway?” he asked grinning as if he was trying to get something out of me.

I just flicked him off and tried to find Darcy so I could keep an eye on her. She got a drink then found her friend who she danced with while chucking down one drink after another. One of my old friends came up to me and I lost her. I had heard a scream of help and ran out the exit where the boys and I had entered. When I saw her there tears were rolling down her cheeks as some guy touched her. I felt a over whelming anger fill me. It was an anger I had never felt before and it scared me. I had punched the guy over and over again and only Darcy’s voice bought me back to reality. After seeing if she could walk or not (which she couldn’t) I quickly carried her bridal style to the car me and the boys had come in. I sent a quick text to them saying they need another ride home before getting in the car myself. It hurt me so much and scared me on how much pain could have been conflicted on her if I had gotten there 10 minutes later or not even at all.

When I took her to my room I knew I had to keep my guard up and not let whatever I felt for her overwhelm again. She had gone through enough tonight and I didn’t think I could take any more tonight. Today had been a new kind of exhausting.

No sooner had I fell asleep on the sofa they guys came in loudly. I quickly opened my eyes and sat up.

“Shut up.” I whispered. “Darcy’s asleep.”

“Why’s Darcy here?” Zayn asked as he sat down. “I don’t mind but why?”

“Did anything happen between you two?” Niall asked wiggling his eye brows.

I rolled my eyes. “Do you really think I would be sleeping on the couch if it did? Something happened to her tonight and I didn’t want her to be alone and I wanted her out of the god damn club.” I said accidently making the ending sound aggressive,

“What happened?” Louis asked worriedly.

“Some guy had her against the wall of the club.” I said angrily as I clenched my fist.

A round of curses from the lads which I appreciated.

“Did anything happen?” Liam asked timidly.

I shook my head. “No thank god.”

“What did you do to the guy?” Niall asked completely serious.

“Punched the shit out of him.” I said grinning.

“Good.” Niall said strongly.

Suddenly a scream came from the direction of my room.

“Darcy.” I said more to myself. I leapt up from the couch and sprinted to my room with the other guys following closely behind me.

She was tossing and turning in the bed and was tangled in the covers. She let out another scream and I ran to her side. Her head was tossing and turning.

“Harry.” She muttered.

“Wake up Darcy.” As I gently shook her awake. I stoked some hair out of her face. “Wake up.” I repeated shaking her a bit more firmly.

Her eyes fluttered open.

Thank god.

“Harry.” She whispered.

“It’s all right baby it was just a dream.” I whispered as I wiped some more hair out of her face that was stuck by perspiration but I didn’t mind.

A tear slipped out of the corner of her eye and I knew what the dream was about.

“Please don’t cry.” I whispered pleadingly as I wiped away the tear.

I heard the door shut quietly behind me and I knew the guys had left us alone.

“Can you stay with me?” she whispered weakly.

I nodded. “Of course.” I whispered.

She moved to the other side of the bed and I slipped in under the covers. She rolled on her side so she wasn’t facing me.

“You don’t have to be so far away.” I whispered as I smiled slightly at her sudden shyness. I moved closer to her and wrapped an arm around her pulling her closer to me so I was spooning her from behind. I felt her breath quicken.

“Relax.” I whispered in her ear.

She was soon asleep and I kept brushing small circles on the back of her hand with my thumb. She suddenly turned and I thought she had awakened but she just pushed me so I was lying on my back before resting her head on my chest, placing on hand beside her head and one firmly rested on my shoulder. I couldn’t help but smile and I wrapped both of my hands around her so I was holding her firmly to me. It didn’t take much more time for me to fall asleep though I tried to stay awake as I listened her breathing but sleep soon swept over
