One Of The Boys

-The next Monday-

I walk into class and find a seat next to Sam. "What's good, Evans?" He asks me. I laugh. "What?" He questions. "Dude. I don't have a cool last name like you. Don't do that." I laugh between laughs. He grins. "You do to so have a cool last name! It's Horan and Clifford and Marla that don't. We have the coolest last names in the school." He says. I grin like an idiot and shake my head at him as the second bell rings.

"Okay everybody! I've decided on who, exactly, gets to have their papers in the school newspaper." Mr. Johnson announces. "Yes! Who is it?!" I yell out. "Ah, you'll find out at the end of the period when we do announcements." He says.

everybody groans and I take out my phone, making sure to hide it. I slip my headphones into my ears and turn on "Close As Strangers" by 5 Seconds Of Summer. Finally, it's time for the announcements and Mr. Johnson leaves the room.

"Okay, everybody. First off, we have Mr. Johnson announcing who gets to have their English papers in the school newspaper!" Mrs. Lamar says.

"good morning, everybody! I've taken the time to read all of the Junior English papers and chosen 5 to go in the paper. So here's who gets theirs in the newspaper: Taylor Evans, Sam Henry, Jessica Lesbar, Maddison Marla, and Jessie Dakans! You all had such wonderful papers! Congrats to you all! Have a wonderful day now!" Mr. Johnson finished and then we got on with the regular announcements such as excuse the football players and cheerleaders at 1:15 for a game and what was for lunch. All that stuff.

The most important things is that I got my paper and Sam got his in the school newspaper.
