She's Into Drummers

"He gave you his number?!" shouted Kacey from the passengers seat. We were on our way back home and I was telling the girls about Ashton and my encounter.
"Yeah, it was so weird. He was acting really strange around me."
"He was probably flirting with you." Her sentence made my heart stop. There was so no way Ashton was flirting with me. I mean, don't get me wrong I don't think I'm ugly, but he was a rock star and I'm just some fan.
"No! Don't you dare get my hopes up like that!"
"I mean it's possible. You're beautiful. I wouldn't blame him if he was into you."
"Oh, you're too kind." I joked. "Listen, he's not into me he just wanted to post a pic of him and a fan on instagram. He's a nice guy, he knew it would make my day. That's it." I was trying to be realistic and not lift my expectations in any way.
"I think he likes you. You'll see." Kacey said in her "know-it-all" voice. I hated that voice.
"Well there was this one thing he said that kind of threw me off..."
"What was it?"
"He said 'I'll see you later'. But he sounded like he actually meant it."
"Don't be a drama queen" Ana said from the back seat, "that's just a saying." I guess she was right, but there was something about the way he said it, it seemed like he actually planned on it.

We got home and Ana went to bed while Kacey and I went to my room. I couldn't stop staring at my 5SOS poster.
"Should I text him the picture now?" I said in a giddy voice.
"Yes! Yes! Do it!" Kacey said enthusiastically.

[To: Ashton Irwin<3-Hey it's me, the girl from the concert tonight. Here's the pic you wanted]

We just sat the staring at the phone, for what felt like years. After what was actually 2 minutes the phone lit up and the tri-tone alert noise sounded. My heart skipped a beat. He answered.

[From: Ashton Irwin<3-Thanks babe! Wow that's a great picture. You've got quite a nice smile there. I never caught your name.]

[To: Ashton Irwin<3- thank you:) and my name is Ella]

[From: Ashton Irwin<3-That's a beautiful name. So what's up?;)]

Wait a second, what? Why was he carrying on the conversation?
"He just said 'What's up?'"
"OMG! He wants to talk to you!" Kacey beamed. "Answer him!"
"What do I say? I can't say 'nothing much', I'm not 13 years old" I panicked.
"Just say you're hanging out with me and talking about how amazing the concert was. That'll flatter him"
"Okay"
[To: Ashton Irwin<3-I'm just hanging out with my friend Kacey. We were talking about how awesome you guys were tonight]
"I hope I don't sound too dorky. Or fangirly."
"You're fine. You just gave him a compliment. Calm down!"

[From: Ashton Irwin<3-Thank you! I really enjoyed tonight. I love being in America. Except I feel like everything's so spread out. Its taken us 20 minutes to get back to our hotel. Hey, how far away are you from The Hilton near the movie theater?]

[To: Ashton Irwin<3-About 25 minutes...why?]

[From: Ashton Irwin<3-Perfect! I'm in town for another day and I was hoping I could take you out:)]

[To: Ashton Irwin<3- Like on a date?]

[From: Ashton Irwin<3- If that's okay with you;)]

"Kacey, he just asked me out on a date.." I said in complete and utter shock.
"WHAT?!" she yelled, just as shocked as me. I showed her the text and we both just started jumping up and down on my bed screaming.
"Well answer him!" Kacey commanded.

[To: Ashton Irwin<3-I would love to! That sounds great!]

[From: Ashton Irwin<3- Great! just text me your address and I'll pick you up at 6]

[To: Ashton Irwin<3-But, you don't have a car]

[From: Ashton Irwin<3-Dont worry, I'll figure something out;) Sweet dreams, Ella]

[To: Ashton Irwin<3-Goodnight, Ashton:)]

"Is this real life?" I looked at Kacey. "This is all happening so fast."
"It sure is!" she said sounding excited.
"He only met me today!"
"He must really like you." She said with an "I told you so" face. I was too excited to even care, though.
"You need to help me get ready tomorrow."
"Well of course! We should probably get to sleep, you've got a big day tomorrow"
With that, I turned off my light and went to sleep.
