Even When the Night Changes

Zayn

Sabrina saw everything that happened. She felt so bad for this guy. He almost gets in a fight, then gets spaghetti dumped on his head, his date ditches him, and now everyone is staring at him.
Sabrina walks over to his table. “Hi I’m Sabrina, come with me, let me help you out.”
“Hi I’m Zayn. Thanks.” He says embarrassed before taking her outstretched hand.
After they are outside she explains. “I’m a hairstylist and my salon is just down the street here. I can wash your hair for you.”
Zayn smiles.”Thank you. That’s very sweet of you.”
Sabrina opens the door to the salon and switches on the lights. “Take your jacket off, I’ll wash your hair, then I’ll find you a shirt to change into.” She motions to a shampoo chair for him to sit in.
She takes her time washing his hair, being sure to get all the tomato sauce out. He has his eyes closed, obviously enjoying the scalp massage. Wow, she knew this guy was handsome, but in this brighter lighting she’s seeing that he is “model” handsome. She clears her throat and focuses on his hair. After a moment or two she looks back and realizes he’s been watching her. “You’re very pretty.” He tells her. She holds on to the sink to brace herself. This guy is amazing. She looks into his beautiful brown eyes. “Thank you.” She says shyly.
She finishes his hair and finds him a white t-shirt to put on. She starts to tell him that he can go into the back to change, but he’s already taken off the stained white dress shirt and he’s putting on the t-shirt. Sabrina tries to catch her breath after witnessing that. “I bet you’re hungry. I have a friend that works at the burger place next door. She could bring us over some food.” She tells him.
“That sounds great. I’m starving.”
It doesn’t take long before her friend arrives with the food. She sets it out on the table and whispers to Sabrina. “He’s hot!”
Sabrina laughs and ushers her friend to the door. Sabrina and Zayn have a great time as they eat. They learn more about each other and share lots of laughs. Sabrina is surprised at how comfortable she feels around this devastatingly handsome man.
Zayn offers to clean up after they finish eating. Sabrina walks over to her station and begins brushing her long brown hair. She looks up in the mirror to see Zayn is watching her. She shakes her head and thinks I must be crazy. A guy like that couldn’t like someone like me.
As if in answer to her thoughts, Zayn comes up beside her and touches her hair. “Your hair is beautiful.” He says before taking her hand in his. “Sabrina would you please let me take you out to dinner tomorrow night? I promise no spaghetti.” An incredibly sexy smile coming across his face.
Sabrina laughs then replies. “I’d love that.”
Zayn smiles. “Good. Look I know it’s late but can we go get coffee? I’m just not ready to leave you yet.”
Sabrina blushes. “That sounds perfect to me. I’m not ready to leave you yet either.”
Zayn puts his hand on Sabrina’s arm. She looks up at him, the way he is looking at her takes her breath away. Zayn says quietly. “Before we go, can I thank you?”
Sabrina says. “Zayn, you’ve already thanked me.”
“No, I’d like to give you a proper thank you.” Then he puts his hand on the side of her face and leans in to kiss her. Gently at first then with more passion.
Sabrina opens her eyes to find herself looking into Zayn’s. All she can say is “Wow!” Zayn laughs quietly. “Yes I would agree. Wow!” He leans in and kisses Sabrina on the cheek.
They head to the door. Sabrina locks up and as they head towards the coffee shop, Zayn takes her hand. Sabrina had no idea that one small act of kindness would change her life so dramatically.
