Moving To England

Chapter Twenty-Four

*No One’s POV*
*Continuation*

The four friends, Destiny’s and Harry’s parents, were seated on the couch of the Baker’s home, as Harry and Destiny were fast asleep on the sofa next to them. Max and Julie – Mr and Mrs Maxwell – had excused themselves and went to their house just about an hour ago.

Faith and Annie admired their sleeping children, as they carried on a quiet conversation, with Desmond and David.

At times they admired the two children sleeping peacefully together, as they carried on a decent quiet conversation.

“Oh, I meant to ask, is Destiny going to Johanna’s son, Louis’s, party this Friday?” Annie asked.

“Destiny never told me about any party.” Faith questioned.

“Oh, I will ask Harry, to tell her.” Annie nodded.

“Yeah, but Destiny isn’t the party type, never really went on one on her own. ” David smiled proudly.

“Maybe, my boy could change that,” Desmond smirked.

“Mhmm, but if that boy hurts her. I break him.” David warns his friend.

Turning her attention to sleeping Harry and Destiny, Annie noticed a gold chain around Destiny’s neck. “Is that a gold chain, with the aeroplanes on it?”

“Yeah, Destiny has that necklace. Why?” Faith questioned her friend. “I picked that one from the box, for her.”

“That’s the same one I picked for Harry,” Annie says, with a smile.

Just a few months after Destiny was born, Faith, Annie and the rest of their girlfriends decided to buy gold, and silver necklaces – two of each symbol: aeroplanes, doves, locks, crosses, and open circles. The friends put these chains into a box, and each of them picks one out, without looking, and gave it to their youngest child, at the time.

“Whoever ever has matching necklaces will, hopefully, end up together.” April has explained to her friends, as they were all gathered by the tiny wooden box.

Desmond yawned, watching the time. “I should get going,” He says.

“Yeah, me too.” Annie nods, with a little yawn.

“Ask him to stay at your place.” Faith whispered to Annie, as the adults got up.

“Uh … “ Annie mumbled.

“Where are you staying, Desmond?” David asked, with a tiny smirk.

“Oh, I’ll probably be staying in a hotel … all alone.” Desmond sighed sadly, trying to hide his smile.

“Oh, that’s horrible … if only someone would let him stay at their home.” Faith exclaimed, trailing off hoping her friend would get a clue.

“You could stay with me.” Annie stuttered. “I mean. I don’t really want to disturb Harry’s sleep right now.” She said admiring her son and her best friend’s daughter. “And Gemma is all the way in London, for University. So the house will be empty, with only me in it.” Annie says, mumbling.

“Oh, that sounds just grand. Thank you, Annie.” Desmond says, smiling brightly, high-fiving his friend, behind his back, as Annie and Faith give each other smiles.

“Alright. Let’s go.” Annie says, rolling her eyes.

Desmond and Annie went to Annie’s home, while Faith put a blanket over Destiny and Harry before heading to bed with David. After arriving home, a couple minutes of reasoning went by, and Annie reluctantly allowed Desmond to sleep next to her, on her bed.

*Destiny’s POV*

My mind was fuzzy, the last remnants of the dream I was having are being chased away, by the realisation that I am awake again. It was a sweet dream, something about sitting in a big oak tree in a meadow full of flowers. The details seemed to be fading away quickly, as I try to recall them.

With a mental sigh, I allow my brain to focus on reality, as I cautiously opened one eye.

I moaned from the tapping sunlight against my face, wondering how long I been asleep. I blinked, shut my eyes, and blinked again. I yawned, as I rubbed my eyes, managing to fully open my eyes.

The room looked unfamiliar, it was not my bedroom, but my living room. Why was I sleeping on the couch?

“Good morning.” A husky, sleepy voice, happily says to me. It sounded kind of sexy – a deep, raspy voice. Immediately, after the three seconds of admiring the voice, my mind turned into a panic zone.

‘Whose voice was that?’ I, though.

I look up to see Harry, giving me a sleepy smile. Then, I realised I have been sleeping on top of Harry all night.

“Harry?!” I exclaimed.

“What’s wrong?” He asked, with his smile fading.

“What is this!?” I say, trying to get up. Although, I didn’t bother trying as hard because I sort of liked the position I was in.

‘Only because it was comfy, though!’ I demanded, to myself.

“It’s called sleeping, Destiny.” Harry chuckled, relaxing his head on his arm. “You fell asleep when you were watching that movie. I didn’t feel like carrying you upstairs to your room or bother your parents to do it. So, I just laid you down on top of me. No harm was done.”

I glared at him. He gave me absolutely no reason to be mad at him ...

“What?” He laughed, nervously.

“I have no reason to be mad at you ... So, I’m just going to be mad at you for that.” I huffed.

Harry laughed at my response, “For what, not giving you a reason to be mad?”

“Yes,” I say, hiding my face in his chest.

“That’s just golden.” Harry chuckled, as I gave him a half smile. Just then, my mind wandered off to school.

“What time is it?!” I frantically say, “We have school today, Harry!”

“It is 6 am. Don’t worry, you’ve got plenty of time.” Harry assures me with a light chuckle. He places his hands on my back gently. Instantly, I shot a dark glare at him.

“Okay. Okay. It’s off!” Harry says, as he took both his hands and put them in the air.

“Good boy.” I giggled, returning my head back to its original position.

“Oh wow. You can cuddle into my chest, but I can’t place my hand on your back! Not fair.” Harry demands as he puts his hands behind his head.
“It’s not called cuddling. It’s merely sleeping, Harry.” I shrugged off, with a smug smile.

“Mhmm. That’s what they all say.” Harry smirked.

“Who's they?” I exclaimed, feeling uncomfortable.

“The other girls,” Harry says with a chuckled.

“Well, this is the last time, for me. It’ll never happen again.” I warned him, as I gently closed my eyes.

‘Ouch.’ I mentally sighed, it sort of hurt, when he talked about all the other girls he is with, nearly all the time. ‘I can never be the ‘only one’ for anything, but who cares. I don’t even like him, and I’m never going to date him anyway … right?’

Suddenly, Harry’s cologne scent hit me. ‘Smells so good.’ I thought, admiring the smell.

Moments of silence passed by. Silence, which was awkward, neither defining, but peaceful, and kind of relaxing.

“Destiny?” Harry asks, with a nervous tone in his voice.

“Yes, Harry?”

“Will you go to the part with me, at Louis’ house?”

“I don’t really do parties, Harry.” It was true, I was never the type of girl who would go out partying every Friday night. I would rather stay home and read a good book or watch a movie.

“But why not give it a shot? I mean, your friends are going.”

“I know, but-”

“It will only be one night. This Friday night. One night with me?”

“I had my one night with you, last night.” I giggled.

“Fine … how about one more night. While we both are awake?” Harry asks again, with a smile.

“Mhmm. I’m not sure, though.”

“Please … Or I won’t be letting you leave today.” He says, tightening his grip on me.

“Harry!”

“Nope.”

“Please.”

“Naw.”

“Fine.” I sigh, giving in, not entirely because I wanted him to let me go, but I sorta did want to go with him.

“Yay!” He cheers, loosening his grip on me.

“Now, go home. I need to get ready for school, and so do you.” I say, playfully slapping him and giggling.

Harry nodded, as I got off him. I watched him walk to the door.

As I was about to close it behind him, I call out to him. “Harry!?”

“Yes, Destiny.” He says, with a bright smile.

“Um … does this mean. That, um, we are a … a thing now?” I stuttered, mumbling.

“Naw.” Harry smiles. “Just good friends going to the party together.”

“Oh, good.” I sighed, happily.

*Harry’s POV*

I finally convinced Destiny into going to the party with me. It felt good like I’ve been waiting for her to say yes, forever.

When I saw her later on this morning, at school, my heart pulse began to quicken. She was laughing with her friends. Her smile, so bright, it just lightens up my mood. Her laughter brought a smile to my face.

She looked my way and shot me a big smile. I returned the favour.

It amazes me when I look at her. Not only because of her looks but because she makes me feel different. Makes me feel something I haven’t felt in years.

Love.
