Harry’s POV
“No! I refuse to leave until she gets back!” I screamed at them.

“Harry! We have no choice! We need to start working on the next album along with several interviews!” Niall reprimanded. The boys and I were just informed that we were needed back in London. I was pissed. We just got off of tour, and now they want us to go back and start working on a new album. Give us a break here!

“Go without me then!”

“Haz, you have to come too! All of us have to be there! The girls will all wait here and keep an eye out for her,” Liam pried.

“No,” I stubbornly refused.

“That’s it! I’m calling Paul!” Zayn said aggravated.

I laughed, “Fine! Call Paul, but I’m staying right here.”

“Okay, I guess I’ll just make a quick call to Anne then,” Louis said and took out his phone. Not my mum!

“You wouldn’t.”

“Watch me,” he smirked and hit call.

“Okay! I’ll go, but you girls have to promise me that you’ll keep me updated.” They nodded in agreement. “Now hang up Louis.”

“Hello? Louis, is that you dear? Is Harry okay?” my mum’s voice was heard throughout the flat. Uh oh.

“No, Anne. Harry just really missed you is all. His phone died, so he asked me to call,” Lou covered.

“How sweet of him! Put him on sweetheart,” she demanded politely. I was handed the phone.

“Hi mum!” I said.

“Harold! I miss you so much!”

“I miss you too mum, but I really must be going. It was nice hearing your voice.”

“Aw… Okay, cupcake. Tell Harmony I said hi! I know you two are back together. I love you!”

I held back tears of my mother’s unknowingness of our situation. “Of course. I love you too mum. Bye.”

“Bye!”

I hung up and handed Lou his phone back. He placed his hand on my shoulder as if to give me that ‘I care’ look to let someone know that you really care. Usually, we’re just joking around when we do this, but I know that Louis is in all seriousness with Harmony gone.

Paul came by in the next hour to take us to the airport. As much as I wanted to stay and make sure she was all right, I knew that I had to go with the guys. Harmony will always be first, but right now my career is calling me.

Harmony’s POV
“Okay, before I start, I just want to say that our families have a lot of history, so this is going to be confusing. Don’t stop me until the end. Then, you can ask me any questions, but no interruptions.”

“Okay… Now spill!”

“Right. When my dad and your mom were in high school, they like… liked each other. Their parents, however, were completely against them seeing each other because of the rivaling history between our families. It was like one of those sharks versus jets kind of situations. You know, West Side Story, Tony and Maria? Anyway, my dad would stop at nothing to be able to see your mom. It’s kind of disgusting really. So they planned on running away together, but something changed my dad. He wasn’t the ‘nice and charming’ man your mom thought she fell in love with.

“He was downright mean to her. He started to get really angry, so one day your mother ran back home. She went back to school and that’s where she met your dad. Her family scolded her for not listening, but nonetheless welcomed her with open arms. My dad was furious, but he realized that if you hurt the person you love, you shouldn’t be with them. To mend his broken heart, he married a woman, my mom, who looked almost exactly like yours.

“You’re probably wondering how I know all of this and why he is just now getting on your case. Well, my mom died last week when my dad… um… murdered her, but he managed to convince the police that it wasn’t him. A letter came in my mail –I live in London now too –informing me of her death. Sure, I was devastated, but I never really liked my mom. That is until I saw her last testament and will written specially for me.”

This story was really shocking and confusing. My mom and his dad used to date? That guy is a monster! How could she ever love him? I watched as Tanner pulled a slip of paper from his back pocket. He handed it over to me.

“This is her will,” he told me. I unfolded the document and began to read.

‘My Dearest Tanner,
If you are reading this, it means my time has come. I may not have been the best mother to you, but I hope you know that I love you no matter what. For whatever reason, you must never share this with your father. I’m about to tell you a story, a story with deep meaning. You must have noticed that your father and I never really got along. You were the only thing keeping us together, and now that I’m gone I want you nowhere near that man, but I need for you to know why…’

The document went on for several pages with her explaining to Tanner what he had just explained to me. I was scared. Why would he do that? And what do I have to do with the murder of her? I scanned down to the last paragraph.

‘I know it was in his heart that he always loved her, yet I stayed. Nicole and I go way back. Her and her husband’s wills were never found, so I write for her sake for the sake of her children. Keep watch on her kids. If David ever found out that she had kids, they would surely be in trouble. My death will mean that he has found out. You must make sure your father hasn’t done anything dire. It’s up to you if you wish to tell them, but I’m counting on you to carry on with her will.

“Tanner…” I say through my tears. “Why is your father doing this? I thought he was over my mom.”

“I thought so too, but when he found out that your mother was dead, he wasn’t going to stop there. He was going to try and make one thing right between our families, so he thought that I would have you. That’s not at all what I want though. No offense. I could never take you from your boyfriend. After all I’ve done to you in high school, I could never want to be with you. I’m really sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused you. I only did that to keep my distance from you. Before the will, my mother told me never to mention anyone under your name, so I associated it with bad. I never told my dad what I did, but he really knows how to do his research.”

“It’s okay. I understand why now.”

“This is your captain speaking. Please buckle your seatbelts; we will be landing shortly in Heathrow, London. Thank you,” our captain announced.

“Tanner, do you think I could at least call one of my friends to let them know I’m okay?”

“Sorry, Harmony. My dad is capable of a lot of things. That includes tracking phone calls. He used to work undercover sometimes, so he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Don’t worry though. Once I can find my dad and get him imprisoned, you’re free to go. For now, I’ll be taking care of you.”

I nodded sadly as we touched down on the runway strip. Once the plane came to a stop, I walked over to get off the plane.

“Wait!” Tanner yelled. I turned around confused. “You need to put this on. I can’t have you getting noticed as a famous pop star’s girlfriend.”

I was handed a long red head, like fire engine red, wig and shades.

“Wow, totally not noticeable with red hair,” I expressed my inner sarcasm.

“It was the only wig I could find!” he reasoned.

“No, it’s fine. I’m considering going red now. What do you think?”

“Perfect!”
