Listen To Your Heart ~ COMPLETED

Just Breathe

Harmony’s POV
“Thank you so much for coming!” the girls of Dance Precisions thanked me nonstop for coming into their class.

“It was my pleasure. Thank you for letting me come here,” I said. I walked out of the studio. Harry offered to come to walk me home, but I declined his offer, as it was only a few blocks from the apartment. I almost regret not bringing a jacket right now, but the slightly cold streets of Anaheim are nothing compared to cloudy coldness of London.

I wrap my arms around my thin t-shirt, hugging my body to block out a rush of cold wind. The sun was no longer at the horizon, leaving me with only the moon and a couple of rusted streetlights to light my path. The streets were occupied by a handful of cars driving past every once in a while.

I began to feel uneasy as the sound of footsteps walked, matching my pace but a few steps behind. Picking up my pace, I decided it was nothing to be too afraid of, but it’s better to be on the safe side. I moved the strap of my dance bag up on my shoulder and continued to walk faster as the footsteps still sounded behind me, seeming to rush more as I did too.

“Hey you!” a dark, male voice called sending me into a sprint down the street. I have but two more blocks until I get home, and this guy behind me is now chasing me down some unfamiliar streets of the city. Usually I would be able to outrun such people, but my legs were in need of some rest.

The footsteps of the man were closer now, and I could feel my legs giving in to the two and a half hours of dancing. A small crack in the sidewalk decided my fate as I tripped and fell to the cold concrete lying to the side of the now empty streets. The shoes of the stranger came into view ass they neared my tired body.

“It’s okay to sleep sweetheart. I don’t bite,” he chuckled before holding a cloth to my face. I held my breath as I remembered every movie and TV show on kidnappers. “Just breathe, baby.”

I couldn’t hold my breath any longer, and the strong smell of chloroform filled my lungs. My weak body gave into his words as I took on a deep, dark sleep.

Harry’s POV
I waited patiently with Louis and El for Harmony to come home. Liam and Danielle hit the hay early, so it was just the three of us now.

“Where is she? It’s 9:15,” Louis said.

“I don’t know. She said she was walking home, but I don’t know how far the place is exactly,” I said.

“Maybe you should call her,” Eleanor suggested.

“I guess.”

I took out my phone and scrolled through the contacts list until I found her name. I hit call and listened to the ringing. She usually picks up within two rings, but after five rings, I got worried.

‘You’ve reached Harmony. I can’t get to phone right now, but please leave a message after the beep,’ my phone went to voicemail. That’s odd. She always answers her phone no matter what. Did I do something wrong?

“She didn’t pickup. It went to voicemail,” I said.

“Let me try,” Louis said pulling up his cell and dialing her number. “It went straight to voicemail. No rings, no nothing.”

“That’s weird,” I said. “I’m worried though. Do you think something happened?”

“I don’t know. I hope not. Try texting her.”

To Harmony<3:
Hey babe. Where are you? It’s late. Call me –Hxx

I stared at my phone for at least ten minutes before I really started to worry. She always texts back right away. Is she trying to ignore me? If she were she would call Zayn. Maybe he knows? I’ll text him.

To Zayn:
Do you know where Harmony is?

I wait a minute before he texts me back.

From Zayn:
No. Why?

To Zayn:
She hasn’t come home yet. The class was supposed to end at 8:30.

From Zayn:
Maybe she’s still there? Or she ran to the store or something?

To Zayn:
She would’ve told me. Plus, she hasn’t been answering her phone.

From Zayn:
We’re coming over

Great. This is just what we need, a house full of worriers. I guess I should ask Dani if she knows, but I’m a little scared to go in there. I’ll just spam Liam until he gets annoyed and comes out here.

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

To Liam:
Hey

“Harry! What do you want?” Liam comes storming into the room with Dani behind him.

“Harmony’s still gone. She won’t answer her phone.”

“Really? It’s almost ten though,” Dani starts to worry.

“I know. I’m worried about her.”

“We’re here!” Zayn and Niall yell as the come into the apartment as well as Perrie.

“Any word from her?” Zayn asked.

“No…” I sigh.

“Well, let’s go look for her! We have to wait 24 hours to file for missing person, even though I highly doubt that she’s missing,” Zayn covers at the end.

“Okay. You girls can stay here, and we-”

Perrie cut Liam off, “Just because we’re girls, doesn’t mean we’re weak. We want to help too.”

“Yeah. We’re going too,” Dani said.

“Fine, you girls can go. We’ll split up into groups. Perrie, Zayn, Liam, and Dani will search the nearby streets. The rest of us will go closer to the studio,” Louis said. “What was she last wearing, Harold?”

“Um… She was wearing a multi colored T-shirt that says ‘Never Stop Dreaming,’ some shorts, pink converse. Her hair was in a bun, and she’s carrying her black dance bag,” I said remembering my girlfriend’s recent apparel. http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=85038398

“Great, now let’s go!”

~

“Excuse me? Is there a Harmony Mattingly here?” I ask the lady in the studio.

“Um… She was here, but she left quite a while ago. Around 8:30 actually. Sorry.”

“Thank you,” I sigh before walking out to Louis, Niall, and El. “She left at 8:30.”

“It’s been like two hours since then! Try calling her again.”

I reluctantly pull out my phone and get sent straight to voicemail again. I sure hope she’s okay.

“No luck?” Niall asks. I shake my head.

“Well, let’s keep looking.”

We walk down the quiet streets, calling out her name, in hopes of her being nearby. In two hours, she could very well be out of the city by now. In a city that we know nothing of, it’s almost impossible to find her now, especially at night.

Two more hours of wandering through the streets of the city, and still no sign of my Harmony. I could feel a much-needed sleep wanting to take over my body before Louis suggests that we all get home and rest while we think of what to do tomorrow.

As I walk into the empty bedroom of my fellow lover, I could feel the tears starting to stream down my face. The pillow I hugged so dearly smelled so much like her, and all I could do was wonder. Where is my Harmony?
