Keep Me Warm

Chapter 10

*Sophie's POV*

I awoke with my fingers tightly clenching onto Harry's shirt. I remained there with my eyes closed as the bright sun shined through my eyelids. I relaxed my hand and rested it perpendicular to his collar bone. I wasn't sure if my death grip was caused by a nightmare or to make sure that Harry was really there. I realized how tight Harry was holding me. A rush of panic went through me as I slowly slid my hand to his jaw, then back to his curls before rubbing my fingers through them. Definately Harry. I smiled as he groaned quietly and held me impossibly closer, but surprisingly gently.

The way he did this made me wonder how bad of a nightmare I'd had for him to be holding onto me so protectivley. Maybe that wasn't it. He held me as if he was making sure I was real, as if he was afraid that I had been a dream and that he would wake up and I wasn't there. My thoughts were interrupted as I felt him stir slightly, then immediately relax his arms out of fear that was hurting me. I smiled again, feeling his gaze. I opened my eyes slowly to find him staring down at me, momentarily holding back his cheeky grin before failing, causing me to giggle as he blushed.

*Harry's POV*

I looked down at Sophie, admiring her entire being as I loosened my tight grip. I couldn't help but smile as she did before looking up at me. I faught the wide smile that was tugging at my cheeks, but failed, making her giggle as my cheeks turned a suddle shade of scarlet. I smiled as goosebumps appeared on the bare skin of her arm as it brushed against my bare chest while she scooted up my body. She stopped, resting her head on my pillow just centimeters away from my face. My heart beat gently against my chest and accelerated further as her nose brushed mine before I rested my forehead on hers.

"Goodmorning, Beautiful," I smiled before placing a kiss on her forehead.

I began to stand up to go make some tea, but found myself being pulled back onto the bed before Sophie climbed on top of me, straddling me as she pinned my hands down. I grinned as her hair hung down around her face and brushed against my cheek. I have to admit that I was very confused. She had been so intimate lately and I wasn't quite sure what the cause was. It had only been a few days since I'd taken her to dinner and she seemed like her old self again. I was releaved that she had been feeling better, but I wasn't sure how to react to her new, sudden joy towards life. I didn't know if I should be worried, as ridiculous as that may sound.

"What?" She giggled. I hadn't realized that I had been staring at her as I thought.

"Nothing, I just can't keep my eyes off of you." She smiled brightly as I said this and pulled all her hair to the side before kissing me gently.

"Well someone seems happy this morning." I joked before flipping us over, smiling at the way her eyes sparkled up at me.

"Well, I woke up next to you." She blushed as I looked deep in her eyes before I leaned down and brushed my nose against hers.

She giggled as I turned it into a full on eskimo kiss. I chuckled at her reaction then pinned her hands down before dipping down and repeating my actions, slowly brushing my nose againt hers from side to side. I remembered how ticklish her neck was, and she squealed and began laughing uncontrollably as soon as I rested my nose on her neck. I chuckled again, enjoying her reaction before quickly rubbing my nose against her neck. I stopped, unable to hold back my laughter as I repeated the action until I was sattisfied, and smiled as she continued to laugh breathlessly before I let go of her.

I stood up and held my hand out to help her get up, but she shook her head. I laughed at her laziness and made my way towards the kitchen. I was halfway down the hall when I was pounced on from behind, but I quickly regained my balance as she wrapped her legs around me and rested her chin on my shoulder as her hand rested around my neck. I turned my head and looked at her, grabbing her legs and smiling before continueing to the kitchen, giving her a piggy back ride. I started the tea as Sophie went off to the bathroom.

I paced around the kitchen out of boredom before my eyes rested on Sophie's phone that had been turned off since the night of the incident. We had both forgotten about her phone, so I decided that she would probably want to check it. I plugged the phone into the charger and waited for it to turn on. My eyes widened at the surprisingly high number of missed calls and texts that showed on the screen, but I didn't investigate any further -- not wanting to invade her privacy. Suddenly the phone began to vibrate as if she was being called. My thoughts were confirmed as a ringtone began to play.

I wasn't sure what I should do. I didn't know if I should answer it or not until I heard Sophie call for me as she laughed an "aren't you going to answer that." I picked up the phone without looking at the screen and answered it with immense hesitation.

"Erm.... Hello?" I said, not sure who I was talking to

"Harry?!" I heard a familliar voice say urgently

"Matt? What is it? What's wrong?" I asked, worried by his tone

"Yeah it's me, where's Sophie? Is she okay? I havent heard from either of you in weeks and I've been really worried. She hasn't been to work and the phone's been off." Matt said nervously, trying to stay as calm as possible.

"Sophie is here, and yeah she's okay." I wasn't really sure what to say since it wasn't really my place to talk about what had happened, so I continued cautiously. "She's been going through a lot lately and we forgot that her phone was off. I'm sorry I didn't call you sooner and let you know"

"I'm just glad that she's okay." I could hear the relief in his voice, but not all of the worry was gone. "What happened to her? Is it Chris?"

"It's not really my place to talk about it, mate. Is it alright if I have her call you back later? She's busy at the moment." I said, hoping to give myself some time to talk to her about it.

"Yeah, mate, that's fine. There's no rush." I could tell from his previous eagerness to talk to her that he'd been worried for weeks, and I felt guilty not bringing her to the phone to talk to him. I just wanted to give her time to gather her thoughts.

We said our goodbyes right as Sophie was making her way down the hallway.

"Who was that?" She smiled, but it faded slightly as she observed my expression that was failing to cover my guilt and anxiety. "Harry? who was that?" She repeated, the lump in my throat caused my response to escape my as almost a whisper.

"Matt."
